BEST WEDNESDAY NIGHT PARTY IN NY

by sponger

Trying to find a venue in NYC that plays underground house music is like trying to find a needle in a haystack. A friend recently turned me onto a party at Crudo on Wednesdays. I found my spot for Wednesday nights. Iv'e been turned off to NYC because in my experience, if you're not on that velvet rope list you're nobody. Half the time you are on the list you still get treated like sh*t by some arrogant obnoxious fashion model for a door host. Not to mention you drop a weeks pay going out. The staff and dj's here make you feel like family. There is a vibe here that seems to only attract good people and beautiful women. No cover at Crudo, wear what makes you feel good, and party all night to deep house.

Great place to chill with friends

by js753

Outdoor space is awesome with nice weather. Came last weekend after dinner in the area and ended up staying until closing. Will plan to come back, especially in the summer.

Raw backyard space and a food-centric location attract an epicurean and European crew to this sliver of a bar.

by Kara Zuaro

The Scene
As a new class of fine-dining destinations began to proliferate on Clinton Street, this former sushi spot switched gears to provide something the competition couldn't--a hip little nook for foodies to grab a post-dinner drink, just steps from their favorite eateries. The bar's name ("crudo" means "raw" in Spanish) refers to its minimalist, bare-brick style.

The Draw
The indoor space is scarcely wider than a hallway, embellished by large, clean-lined paintings and decorative found objects. The back door opens up to a slim patio, about as big as the bar itself. Outside, artistic and colorful graffiti swirls along the concrete walls, while guests perch on cinder blocks and wooden benches. Granted, it's just a back alley--a garish beeper and cell phone sign hangs as a reminder on the back of the building next door--but votive candles (and killer mojitos) summon romance to this tiny, discreet hideaway.
