Mariano has been cutting my hair for years, and he's simply the best - I organize my schedule and travel plans around his, to make sure i get to see him! While he's known as an amazing hair stylist for women, he is equally amazing for men.

I love MARIANO! He absolutely works miracles on my thin hair. I have been seeing him for the last three years and I always leave the salon looking like a superstar. The staff is super friendly and the atmosphere in the salon is amazing. I highly recommend it!

For over 20 years, Armando Corral has been my hairstylist and my friend. Our friendship developed from years of putting my trust and hair in his very capable hands. When it comes to hair we all know that this is no ease feat! My trust and respect for him stems from his skill and ability and in his unwavering character. Armando has lovingly guided this once neurotic “I-hate-my-hair” young woman to the “I-love-my-fabulous-hair” woman that I am today! Armando has worked tirelessly to be at the cutting edge of style, to cultivate a loyal client base by truly listening and understanding his clients’ needs, and to own a business where his name and reputation embody the values and integrity that are his core. I find it reprehensible that someone would post a slanderous personal attack against someone he/she does not know. To claim that Armando has no morals or ethics only shows the level of irrationality Armando probably had to deal with in trying to mollify an unfortunate and distressing situation. My hope is that Citysearch users will read past the spite of one reviewer and put credence in the excellent reviews from long standing clients and friends of Armando Corral.

I've been going to Marie at Armando Corral for four years, and basically think she's a genius. She's guided me from boy-short hair to my current mid-length do, gotten me all fancy for my wedding, and made me look beautiful even when I walked into the salon looking and feeling like a total shlep. I love the atmosphere at Armando Corral, the relaxed, happy staff, the low-key vibe, and the terrific attention they pay to their clients. I'd never been a regular anywhere before (not for my hair, not even for my dentist) until I met Marie. I still don't have a regular dentist, but I'll never go anywhere else for a haircut.

Pros: the skilled staff, relaxed atmosphere, and total friendliness of everyone at the salon

Armando has always been -- and still is -- one of the best hair stylists in New York. I've been a faithful client of his for almost ten years, which is the longest relationship that I've had since I moved here. Not my job. Not my boyfriend. Not my shrink. Armando. And, trust me, if I don't like something or someone, I move along. Quickly. Armando (and I've also had my hair cut and colored by Marie and Mariano, so I add them in the mix here) provides me with something that looks good from the moment I walk out of the salon and can last for months. There have been times when I've forgotten to make appointments because my hair has grown in so beautifully. And color! Their specialty. I had my hair colored for years there, and no one ever though I was coloring my hair because it always looked so natural. And, when I decided to let the pre-mature gray show (for a little while), Armando was supportive and made it look amazing. If you're looking for a place that is low-key, smooth, and provides some of the best styling in NY (wrapped up in the nicest, most talented group of people you'll ever meet), Armando's is your place. You won't be disappointed.

In reading the previous review, I am perplexed. I have been a client of Armando's for 17 Years. I have followed him to at least 3 salons until he opened his own place. Besides being a crazy talented hair dresser, the kind that brings you gracefully from one style to another, and won't let you leave his chair until your hair is perfect because his name is on the door. He is one of those Southern Sweethearts that operates with a lot of honesty and integrity. I haven't seen the 2 stylists mentioned below in over a year so I think there might be lots of inaccuracy in that review.

This Hair Salon Literally Burnt my HAIR OFF!!!!!!!!!!!! By a relaxer........... BY a hair cutter that I won't name and her colorist. that are still working there .... When I merely asked for my money back THE Owner Armando Did not want to try to repair the hair that was just 2inches left. I came in with 10 inches of hair !!!! I should have Sued , but didn't want to go through it . But Now I will Tell all of You 's HE IS A Bad Guy , with no Morals , or Ethics. I got my money back , But he argued about it . Can you believe it ?, that He wanted to keep his $100. had no empathy or felt responsible . Unbelievable Isn't it . What a CREEP !

I have been a loyal customer for over 3 years now. When I first came to the salon I was in serious hair therapy, THANKS TO MARIANO my hair feels and looks fantastic. I refuse to even look at another hair salon. From the moment you walk into Armando Corral Salon everyone is very friendly and courteous. The place is very hip and has fantastic music. If you're in serious need of a hair change in your life I definitely recommend MARIANO the man does miracles. You will walk out of the place definitely feeling very confident.

a friend advised me this salon in the meat packing. I live in the east village. I was a bit worried about the trendy location. well, not at all snobby. Great vibe and I love my color. the stylist was very friendly and well experienced. His name is Mariano. (I made an appointment for a haircut in a week).

I've lived in ny for 3 years. I've changed salon for each hair cut. I'm spanish. I have thick curly hair. I like it long but always wanted to change it. Finally my search is over. MARIANO at Armando Corral Salon gave the best haircut. The place is very easy going, the prices all right, and now I love my hair. I highly recommend this place.
