an amazing acupuncturist

by varmstrong65

firstly, I want you to share in my happiness. I am such a lucky person. let me to tell you my story.

I have suffered from headache and migraine for two years that is progressive and really makes my life worse and worse. In the past six months, I almost have headache every day, and when i have headache or migraine, i need take painkillers and those dosage is gradually increased. I clearly know what side-effect from the medications, but i could stop it because with horrible headache and migraine i also experience nausea, fear some lights and sounds, very agitated, some nights i completely could not sleep except crying. this situation has been lasting utill I heard about Dr.Li, who is a acupuncturist, from my friend, she tell me I should go toe see Dr. Li, she believes Dr.Li certainly can help me. However, I still doubt it because I have tried a bunch of doctors. Three weeks ago, the worst migraine attacke push me to see Dr. Li, which is my last hope. But an unbelievable thing happened. After 3 treatments, my "enemy" was utterly defeated. Beyond imagination, the following two weeks, I have even forgotten that I used to have a bad migraine.

  • Pros: good acupuncture treatment !

Wow.... amazing hands....

by elise1688

After working in front of a computer 10-14 hours a day I go to this place to loosen up my neck , back and shoulder about once a month. The girl MAY know exactly were the go for . The fact that it's open till 10:00 pm just can't be beat.

Those of you who liked your massage with good amount of pressure would probably agree that in most places, regardless of price, the masseus either don't put enough pressure, try to move away from the shoulder, or use elbow instead of fingers. But May know exactly how much pressure to use. WOW !!!! I was amazed . I don't need to tell her much and she was able to locate my pressure point and all my knots.

It's a hole in the wall. it's not a day spa. But if you slept on the wrong side or need your shoulder fixed so you can go to work the next day, this is the place where you can get all the knot and tight feeling out .... AAAA+++++

I will tell all my frds and co -workers.

  • Pros: great place , great price ,
  • Cons: none....

Literally saved my neck!

by Wendy81

I saw the review saying that the customer didn't get the full time paid for. That certainly didn't happen to me - it was full, fair time to the minute, and the place was busy at the time too!

Anyway, I had a stiff and sore neck. Tension, working, and a 5-mile run turned stiffness into a burningly sharp pain. One hour (full 60 minutes :-) ) along with some fragrant Chinese medicinal oil and the pain and stiffness were gone! I like the feeling of this place. As others have said, it's not opulent. It's down-to-earth and kind of honest, looking like a doctor's office designed by a feng shui master. The massage was quite strong - here's a tip: this isn't your Central Park chair-massage back-rub. Tell the therapist beforehand if you want your tui-na light, medium or strong. Their default is on the strong side!

  • Pros: Knew the body, one visit made my pain go away
  • Cons: Therapist didn't speak much English (no chit-chatting)

Massage and facial

by Superman007

It was my first time at Asia Tui-Na and I found my experience to be relatively good. I went in for the 60 minute massage and facial.

The massage was great. It wasn't too deep, nor too soft. It was a bit painful at times, but it was due to my tight muscles.

It was my first time getting a facial and I wasn't overly impressed, though my face was really dry and the next day, soft.

My two complaints are: I was freezing during the facial. The towel isn't sufficient. And she quit about 10-15 minutes early, so I didn't get the full 120 minutes that I paid for.

  • Pros: Price is reasonable
  • Cons: Was not the full 120 minutes

Worst Experience Ever

by yohagopelo

I have been coming to Asia Tui-Na for almost two years. The massages are usually ok, not great, but at $55 an hour, you really can't complain. This place is a couple of blocks from my office, so for convenience, I go about once every 3 weeks. After my experience today, I will NEVER go again. The masseuse I had, Linda, was extremely rough - her massage style was fast & hard. 3 times I asked her to please be more gentle, and it only seemed to fuel her fire. I actually cried out in pain twice (after the 3 times asking her to be more gentle). The whole experience was extremely uncomfortable and I lay there with my eyes open, staring at the floor. Suddenly she left the room....and the person who returned to finish the job was different - completely different shoes/toenail polish. Seriously? Seriously. The 2nd person was a little better, and she finished the massage. When it ended, I checked my watch....hmmm, my 60 minute massage was actually barely 50 minutes. Mind you, it was awful, so I wasn't too upset it ended early, but 1) I have always thought their massages seemed fast, this was the first time I timed it 2) they were charging me for 60 minutes. When I went upfront to pay, I informed the receptionist that the massage had not lasted for an hour. She simply shrugged her shoulders and asked me for payment. When I inquired as to why I had to pay for 60 minutes when I only got a 50 minute massage, she rolled her eyes and offered me a $5 discount. This made me even more agitated, so I decided to share with her how awful my massage was. She simply said "okay". I will never go back - I'd much rather go out of my way to Graceful Services (which is wonderful) or pay the extra money & head to Bliss - at least those places know how to treat people. Avoid this place if you can - it is not worth it. If you are trying to get an inexpensive massage, there are plenty of other places.

  • Pros: reasonably priced
  • Cons: awful service, awful massage

Acupuncture for Endometriosis

by fabibrazil

I am 28 years old and I had a surgery for endometriosis 4 years ago.

Two months ago my pain was back and my doctor said that I had to do another surgery since he felt that my tubes were stuck again as it was prior the surgery.

So, I decided to try acupuncture with Dr Li!! It was the best thing I have done!!

Since I started the acupuncture and the tea, I didn't fell any pain during periods. I went to my regular doctor and he said that my clinical exams, blood exams (CA125), MRI and USG are all good enough!!! I don't have anything related to endometriosis anymore. So I don't need to have another surgery!!

Thank you, Dr Li!!!

"Cold" uterus

by eday810

I am a 40 year old woman who's been pregnant twice this year, but had miscarriages both times at 3 weeks. I was desperate to get pregnant, so a friend suggested that I go see Dr. Li. She checked my pulse and tongue and said that my uterus was too "cold" for the embryo to survive. I didn't really know what she meant, but she gave me acupuncture and herbal treatments for a month. At the end of the month, I was pregnant. Now I am still getting treatments, and I'm in my 12th week of pregnancy. My OBGYN says that my baby's heartbeat is normal and appears very healthy. I am not sure what a "cold" uterus means, but if you have the same problem, be sure to go and see Dr. Li.

Cured my headaches!

by terminatorgal

The economic climate has been getting to me - for the last several months I've had a chronic headache, stiff neck, sore shoulders and upper back. I work at a computer all day. Someone suggested massage so I looked for a place in my neighborhood. I had a 1-hour massage and at the end of the session, all these symptoms were gone! There were some tender muscle areas the next day, but a healthy feeling. The therapist told me a very interesting thing - she wondered if I sat at work with my shoulders raised upwards a bit. I checked the next day, and I do! Very observant! So I will work on that, which could explain the chronic sore areas. And I'll definitely come back here if it happens again!!

  • Pros: Simple, direct, it worked
  • Cons: A little strong, but I hear that's tui-na

Cured my injury

by robertknapp612

A few weeks ago, I hurt my lower back while I was working out at the gym. I was in extreme pain and couldn't walk straight. The limping and pain was disrupting my work, so a colleague referred me to Dr. Li. I have to admit I was a bit scared at first because Dr. Li used 3 needles on my scalp, but it wasn't really very painful. I got up and walked around, and already I could feel the pain alleviating. I knew it must have been the acupuncture because I wasn't taking and painkillers or other medication. Then Dr. Li used more needles on my back and electric stimulation. She ended the session by using cupping (a technique where vacuum suctioned cups are placed at the area of inflammation). On the way home from the clinic, my back was already feeling 70% better. I went back for 2 more sessions, and afterwards the pain disappeared. It was amazing, I couldn't believe that the pain would go away so fast. It has really helped me get rid of an annoying problem quickly and go back to working out. In the past, I would have needed 2 or 3 weeks to recover from a similar back pain. With Dr. Li's help, I was better in less than a week!

Post-surgery help!

by kymillernyc

A while ago, my doctor discovered that I had a huge fibroid in my uterus. He said that i needed surgery to remove it. Although I'm 37, I had never had surgery before, so I was really nervous going into it. After the surgery, I began to feel sharp stomach pains that just wouldn't go away. I was very very scared, so i went to my doctor and asked what was wrong. He told me that I still had adhesion of the scar tissue from the surgery, and that I would require a second surgery to remove the scar tissue if my pain did not go away. But my pain certainly was not going away, and it got so bad that I couldn't even stand up straight. Desperate for alternatives to ANOTHER surgery, I went to Dr.Li for help. After just one treatment with her, I was already feeling 60% better, and could finally stand up straight again. After 5 treatments, I was completely healed, and my doctor said that I wouldn't need a second surgery. I was never fond of surgeries, and this experience certainly did not improve m y impression of it. So I'm very thankful for Dr.Li's alternative methods that helped me avoid another surgery.
