Great place - I love it

First of all, the drinks are very nicely priced. Second, the bartenders and waitstaff are all so nice and friendly. The karaoke is great (and free) - and the CHICKEN WINGS are hands down the best in NYC. Every friend I've taken there agrees and wants to go back for more - even my friend from Kansas who visits New York only about once a year. You really can't go wrong.

• Cons: It's so far away from where I live (Upper West)

GREAT

Delicious lychee martinis for $6.50 and free kareoke! Great place to get hammered and sing. Menu is very limited but not expensive. If you get too drunk, they will find a way to kick you out - by turning off the kareoke machine, etc. but who cares, its probably time for you to go anyway. Its completely hidden on a backstreet in chinatown. The decor is dim and relaxing, and there are 2 floors. Kareoke is downstairs but sometimes they have it on the first floor too (large screens). Very fun! Do I have to mention it again? CHEAP DRINKS AND FREE KARAOKE!

• Pros: good drinks, great prices, free kareoke
• Cons: sometimes the waitstaff can be a little rude, but maybe you've caught them on an off night

neighborhood place...

This is not a bad "neighborhood" place, and they make a very good lychee martini (ask them NOT to put that red stuff in your martini-- it ruins the taste). The prices are decent, and the food is actually ok (and they serve a good steak all night long for $20) However, I do have to say that the decor is a little to "dark" and the patrons are definitely more likely than not from the neighborhood. They need to renovate the bar so that it provides more light and ambience. On the plus side, they have amazing happy hours (half price drinks and $4 beers-- any type), and a friendly staff. Call ahead to find out what after work options/happy hours are going on...

• Pros: great drinks specials, reasonably priced, good "bar" food
• Cons: decor is a little too dark...

A Party Let Down

I had a party reserved 2 months in advance for about 20 people. No problem there Waitresses were friendly at first. An hour into the party the service is slowing up, they're getting orders mix up. I found the waitresses eating themselves in the other private room (which is directly across). Well there were barely any orders because their menu selection was magically cut down to only 3 types of entrees for that night. And their Karaoke songs weren't much of a variety eitheir.

You simply can't go wrong!!!

Yello is one of lower Manhattan's best-kept secrets. It has one of the best and most consistent atmospheres Ive encountered anywhere below 34th Street no matter what day you go, its always filled with people!!!! The Karaoke downstairs is superb a great selection of songs in both Chinese and English for all to enjoy!!! And I must say, Im a huuuge fan of the food the fried chicken wings alone are to die for!

I highly recommend Yello for Happy Hour, Weekday/Weekend Nights out!!!!!!!

Aside from the fact that yellow is my favorite color (and coincidentally this bar/lounge is called yello), this is a great space to meet with old friends and if you feel adventurous, meet some new ones. Every time I enter this lounge, it's always bustling with people chatting away, music in the background. The atmosphere is cozy and the service is great. Im not much a drinker but Ive enjoyed all the drinks my friends and I have ordered. The karaoke section of the lounge, which is in the basement, is great. There are days when you just want to let loose from a stressful day at work and what best way to unwind than to sing from the top of your lungs in the company of great friends [and strangers] while enjoying your favorite drink. Dont worry if youre technologically impaired, the waiters will gladly input songs for you.

A MUST

Whenever my friends and I get together, we always end up here. It is a great place to just hang out and catch up. The music never stops. The drinks are awesome. Waiters and waitresses are always helpful. If you don't know what you want, just ask one of them to suggest something, they know whats good. The best thing is there is KARAOKE!! There are plenty of songs to choose from, no matter what you are in the mood to sing. Yello is a must!

This place is awesome!

If you are looking for a great place yello is the place you should check out. On the weekdays, its a great place to catch the latest sports games with your friends or grab some post work drinks with yoru fellow co-workers. And on teh weekends, if you are looking for the mixture of cool music and great place, yello isthe perfect place. The bartenders and waitress are nice and friendly and the drinks are amazing!! And nothing beats the karoke section. I have a blast everytime I go there!! Check it OUT!!

What a GEM!!

My friends and I came here for my 25th birthday and had a blast!! The atmosphere is hip and trendy and the music really got the mood going. They have a pretty comprehensive list of karoake songs. We got to sing everything that we wanted to and I think my friends will agree if I say most of our voices were gone by the end of the night. In addition, at first I thought the crowd would lean toward primarily Asians due to its location in Chinatown however, Yello serves a really diverse crowd. As for the food, their prime rib and Yello chicken wings are AMAZING!!! Their Guava drink is also awesome! I definitely will go back!!

I thought the service was great! The waiting staff was really attentive and took care of each and everyone of my friends amidst our grab for the mike!!
