Blacks not served

Gary is abartender who doesn't like to serve blacks. All of the other bartenders are polite and friendly however this one bartender needs to find another profession. He clearly has an aversion to black patrons as indicated through his rude comments and statements made. When one is working in the service industry it is important to be polite and friendly with the customers who are spending money in your establishment.

Don't bother.

I would rather go to a straight bar with a group of gay friends, then spend another dime in this establishment, which my friends and I helped the owners, who now have turned green and bitter, to build. Good luck closing your doors in the near future. We have moved on.

• Pros: Outdoor space during the summer months
• Cons: The owner gets personally involved in everyone's business. Stay clean of him.

stopped by with a friend not having been to bars in a while and was pleasantly surprised by the non-attitudinal friendly vibe. I'll go back!

Great Bar!

I love this bar! The staff is always very friendly and the drinks are great, especially the 2-4-1 during happy hour!!! Don't miss out :)

GREAT BAR...GREAT SERVICE

This place is great! The service is excellent and staff always very friendly.

You feel welcomed as soon as you walk through the door. They have a two for one happy hour, a nice outdoor patio in the back and great entertainment. Check out this bar, you'll be happy you did.

Best Karaoke! Always friendly and fun atmosphere

No attitude bar with a modern neighborhood feel. The staff is always friendly and accomodating. Great private patio for smoking and the best karaoke in the city. I always have a fun time whether I arrive with friends or solo. Check it out for yourself, you won't be disappointed.

Great Happy Hour and outdoor patio

This bar is friendly and has a great happy hour. Everything is two for one until 9 or so every night. The back patio is a great place to smoke and sip a martini with your friends. I like this bar!

Best Gay Outing Experience in NYC!

XES is the gay CHEERS!

People know your name, the bartenders (and can we just say HOT) know your drink(s), the place itself is so welcoming and is layed out so there a little somethin, something for everyone. You can sit at the bar drink a few beers, or lounge out on one of the soft velvet couches surrounding the interior perimeter sipping your Cosmo, or mingle on the back patio while downing your 5th ManCran. Its big enough that you dont feel like youre stuck in the same location all night (unless you wanna be). The music is outrages and off the hook! Each DJ brings their own spin to the place which keeps things fresh and current.

As great as the bar is, its the staff that makes this place! From the bartenders, to the cocktail waiters to the bar-backs to the owners! Its a home-away-from-home where YOU dont have to clean up! They pour whatever you want and on top of everything else, theyre consistently channeling Julie McCoy. They act as a gay social director by introducing you those sitting around ya and always making sure youre having a good time. And God forbid they learn your personal weakness, then youre doomed - - but in that they like me, they really, really like kind of way. XES is a fun playground with heart! You cant go wrong!

• Cons: They eventually close (I guess they've gotta sleep somethime)
