Simly the Worst!

I really cannot even express what happened at that place... In a nut shell: worst food, worst service and the worst general manager on earth: Is he High!!!
Avoid like the plague!
- Pros: Nothing
- Cons: The General Manager
Best Place in Soho
by TrishTheDish at Citysearch
I lived in Soho for years and this place is the best. I went a few months ago for my 40th Birthday and the manager, the chef and the entire staff treated my friends and I like we we're A-list celebs. Great cocktails, unbelievable raw bar, amazing sushi everything a girl could dream of. I was away all summer and when I went back in the chef not only remembered me but was generally mad that I hadn't come in to see him for 3 months. That's how personal the service is. You get the cool vibe, great people watching and great food you expect in Soho without the attitude and without the outrageous prices.
- Pros: Great food, great service, great vibe.
nothing special plus a whole bunch of attitude

my experience was bad........B A D. I love lobster rolls so i was going around a few places in the city that supposedly serve good lobster rolls...anyway i call the bar and ask for help getting there at about 11:10AM and the lady on the phone asks me "where are you" i say, "one block away"..."ok so just head north two blocks", so i show up around 11:15 and she literally looks surprised to see me as if we werent just on the phone and i ask to order and she says were not gonna get set up now , but at 11:30 and i am mad cause im thiking, greatt i gotta go meet someone in half and hour and i came here for nothing, so i ask her, "then why didnt you tell me this when i was on the phone with you" and she goes "do i look like a psychic to you? no, so either you can wait or leave" ...well anyway i came back a week later , and finally tried the lobster roll, which i had to wait for FOR-EVER , and it definately wasnt worth the wait-it was average, nothing"wow" and the chips were so deep fried and saggy that they were just wet from that oil so no i dont recommend this place.
And the weird eyed receptionist at the front (same one from before) saw me come in the second time, around 12 and she was talking with some guys , saw me ,looked at me and started talking again so when i motioned myself to the bar to order, she ran over saying "umm excusee me can i help you" as if i was lost- hellooo wheres the customer service people want? and who does she think she is?
- Pros: decor,lobster roll
- Cons: unattentive and carefree staff
fantastic

come for the fish nothing else, added the rancheros as my wife was most upset and now eating fish on the back of them. every cloud and silver lining comes to mind.
perfect location hidden deep down away from the millions,
a real gem and a lifesaver from endless shopping.
prefer the bar than the restuarant and excellent staff always make you feel welcome
- Pros: too many to mention
- Cons: huevos rancheros bland
Very Nice Meal
by aldo2002 at Citysearch
enjoyable decor and atmos. my pal's sis has a relative the is managment this place so we are coralled to go quite frequently, we don't get any crazy hook ups but my friends do order well on the apps and I was impressed. the vino flows and the main fish dishes were extremely nice. I would go back (although I have to) of my own volition and would recommend.... Calamari was a stand out item, shrimpie something was also the bomb on the app menu. enojy.
- Pros: Tasty interesting apps and solid fishies
- Cons: not the cheapest but hey
Lured me

After reading the mixed reviews about this place, I was a little sceptical about going here, but decided to give it a try and see for myself. I came here with my date on Valenetine's day and it was great. The reservations we made were on time and we were quickly seated at our table after they took our coats. The atmosphere was relaxed and casual. The music was not too loud. The decor was beautiful. The waitress that served us was very helpful. The yellowtail-jalapeno rolls, Salmon Tartar, California roll, crab cakes, crispy calamari (spicy!), and the seared yellfin tuna were all very good. If you're into seafood or sushi then I do recommend trying this place because you might just very well end up liking it here, if not loving it . The cocktail drinks were okay but not great, but they have an EXTENSIVE selection of wine. The food is pricey but very tasty.
- Pros: The food and the decor
- Cons: Expensive
there are better restaurants with better food and service... take your money elsewhere.

The people who gave this place 5 stars must work here because my experience has been the same as everyone else that gave this place a bad review. I made reservations here and before we sat down they told us that we only had an hour and half to eat because they had another party arriving and wanted the table ready for them. For a place that charges such a premium, you would expect better service.
Take your money elsewhere.
Bad experience! Never before have I been treated so poorly at a restaurant in NYC.

Rude staff, terrible service. Toward the end of our meal the host asked us to leave, saying he had been fair letting us have our table so long. With no warning, no apology, no thank you, we were kicked out of the restaurant! The manager comped our after-dinner drinks but we couldn't enjoy them anyway. We will never return. Also the happy hour oysters were very small and fishy (old). Go to the Docks or Grand Central for a much better experience.
Hooked on Lure

Been there a dozen times and it keeps getting better. People watching is A+. Lots of entertainment industry types from the neighborhood and celebs flowing in from the Mercer Hotel across the street. And with good reason. Manages to be upscale Soho without the snobbery. Service always makes me feel like an A-list guest myself. The decor and the tunes create a hip cruise ship vibe. I never miss the blue points oysters and/or the stone crab claws; both are decadent. Got help on choosing a reasonable Bordeaux sans the usual condescension. Overall the menu is an inventive mix of traditional seafood fare and sushi with a formidable steak au poivre (a Soho staple) thrown in for good measure. Sounds simple but think?who else offers a "something for everyone" upscale menu like that? Crowd pleasing menu and scene makes this a great, great date place. I've been eating in Soho for 20 years and Lure is by far my favorite spot.
- Pros: The crowd, the service, the vibe, the food
- Cons: Wish I could go more often
Don't bother

Dinner was ok. the apps were the best part. My husband had raw oysters which looked good. I didn't have any because I am pregnant :( I had grilled octopus for apps - delicious. I had Brazino fish as my entree which I have never had...it was good - light, fresh and clean but a bit on the plain side. Came with a small side of sticky (?) rice. It was ok but i was still hungry. Maybe I should have gotten some sides. Husband had Daurade fish...it was whole but filleted. Everything was fine. We were having a pleasant evening until the very end. We paid our bill which was still on the table for the waiter to collect and my husband was just finishing up his wine when the waiter came up to us and told us that they need the table for someone else who has a reservation!! I was so mad. We had a reservation as well and if they needed that specific table they should have sat us elsewhere or at the very least tell us that that table will be needed at such and such time. The point is we were about to leave why even say anything?? It was just a bad decision on the waiters part to even say that to us - poor timing. We complained to the manager but he was a waste of time as well. I wasn't expecting a free meal...but a sincere apology!! I would say dont bother going...there are a lot of other NYC seafood restaraunts that are better in quality and service. Go to Blue Water Grill....better service and better food!
- Pros: great raw bar and apps
- Cons: service was atrocious and very bad decisons made by staff as to seating and communication
