Great little bar with cool atmosphere - not a lot of seating so we were lucky to get a table out front on the sidewalk. Bar is very busy and it is hard to get drinks so I would recommend table service. Our server was nice and attentive.

  • Pros: Great Sangria Carafes
  • Cons: Small, crowded

Well after reading some good reviews on this bar and living only a few blocks away I had to try it out, and I've got to say it lived up to expectation. I've never met friendlier barstaff and that's always a good start. The atmosphere in there is really cool and I'm definately going back there and have already recommended it to a few friends. Prices are the same as anywhere else in the area.

  • Pros: Restroom doors and the barstaff
  • Cons: None

It's not often that you come across a bar as great as this East Village gem. I've been six or seven times now and each time it never fails to disappoint. The vibe is upbeat at the weekends, and warm and relaxed during the week. You can saddle up to the bar to meet Bua's loyal regular customers and friendly bar staff, or chill out in the lounge area at the other side of the bar. I've discovered many a great new band listening to the music they play - which is easily the best I've heard at any bar. There's a great selection of beers and cocktails, and if you're feeling picky you can choose from a very simple but amazing menu (the grilled ham & cheese is my favorite. What really sets Bua apart however, is the people. You are always guaranteed a friendly crowd that will chat, bend elbows, and share their stories. Many a friendship has been struck up over a beer at this East Village gem. Come see for yourself!

  • Pros: People, Vibe, Staff

This is a great place for a night out, but get there early because it is popular! All the staff are really friendly, even the doorman (but bring ID as they check). The snacks are lip-smackingly delicious, and they have a great selection of beers (mine's the Pacifico), spirits, etc. The clientel are late 20's, and 30's, and the cosy space means you end up chatting to loads of random but like-minded people.

All in all, this is one of the funnest spots to visit in the evening, whether it is a weeknight or weekend.

The best bar in town! I had my birthday drink celebrations there recently and had a blast. The staff were warm and friendly, the music was great, the drinks were flowing, what more could a birthday girl ask for!

The food cannot be forgotten either, we ordered some pork sliders half way through our jolly night and they were a melt in the mouth treat. We only found out after we had gobbled them that all the ingredients were local!

Bua has a real feel good factor and this little gem situated in the hub of St Marks Place is always a joy to visit!

I've been a big fan of Bua for a while and love nothing better than going for a few drinks and chilling out in this cool East Village spot. I have often found myself wishing that I didn't have to leave to go for dinner. Well as luck would have it my wish has been granted as Bua are now serving the best Pork sliders I have ever tasted. Not sure I'll ever have to leave this place now....

  • Pros: Great bartenders, Pork sliders and Music
  • Cons: None that I can see

Located on St.Marks Street, Bua is a great hangout for people looking for a layback experience. It's also a great place for visitors interested in exploring the East Village and discovering another great area of NYC. The staff is friendly, the clientele is mature (average 30s) and it's a great place to sample beer. Grill cheese sandwiches a must!

  • Pros: Atmosphere, patio

Not sure what Mary East is talking about. Bua is a great find. I drink here during the week and at weekends. The crowd is great, mostly locals, the playlist spot on and the service friendly and genuine. A great bar.

I live in the area and the place is a great disapointment. Lots of under aged people on weekends, while weekdays it has a very basic crowd from the sticks. I feel that there is something strange going on behind the scenes. Watch out.

  • Pros: not much can be said about this place
  • Cons: Feels criminal!

I like Bua. The atmosphere is comfortable and the happy hour specials are more than reasonable. Definitely a good neighborhood spot.

  • Pros: Good happy hour specials, lots of candles
