Last weekend I had a surprise birthday party for my girlfriend here. First thing to mention is that the promotional manager, Eric, was fantastic. He is accessible at all times and really personable. We had a large group (40-50ppl I think) and ran an open bar special w/ private room and cupcake tower for the birthday girl. Everyone had a really good time - the room was all to ourselves, drinks were poured strong and the music was good (from what I can remember). The only downside I can see is that this place is relatively small, but you can combat this by just checking it out before you book. Overall - great staff, strong drinks, and a fun place to have a private party.

Pros: accommodative staff, strong drinks

Cons: relatively small

I just planned a private birthday party at 49 Grove this past weekend and had the best time. We had the place to ourselves for roughly 50 people along with an open bar for 2 hours. The staff was awesome, and more importantly the management (Aram & Eric) were easy to work with and very accomodating. I highly recommend this place to anyone looking to have a private event at a hot space.

Pros: Great staff, reasonable prices, awesome scene

Cons: Can get a bit crowded later on in the evening

I went to my best friend's bachelor party last Friday at 49 Grove and I have to say it was one of the best I've ever been to. We had our own private room with a HOT waitress and a room service buzzer! The bottle prices were on par with most of the clubs in NYC, and the manager Mas kept checking in to make sure we were taken care of. The only complaint I have is that the night ended too soon...we were NOT ready to leave by the time 4am rolled around.

Pros: Private room, hot waitress, great music, vibe and atmosphere

Cons: Low Ceilings

I organized a birthday party for this past Saturday and was more than satisfied with both the club and the service. I had about 75 people show up and they all got in without having to wait in line. The manager set me up with a great table location that was able to accomodate my party. Everyone was raving about the DJ--he was playing different rock/hip hop blends that went over really well. My waitress was assigned to just my party and she was attentive and sweet throughout the entire night. I have only been to 49 Grove once, but I would highly recommend it for any kind of party!

This place is pretty and played good music last Saturday night. Those are the only good things to say about it. I have never paid so much for drinks before at a mediocre place. I bought 3 drinks and the bar tender, who was rude and inattentive, charged a 20% gratituty and the bill came out to over 51 dollars!! They weren't even strong drinks at all!!! The bouncers at the door acted like this was the place to be, yet when we went inside at 1130, it was totally empty! Totally not a place I would ever go again!!!

Pros: good music after midnight

Cons: rude bartenders, PRICEY and WATERED down drinks

Only good thing about this basement club is that it's not very popular with out of towners, but there is probably a reason for that. The bus boys and waitstaff are the rudest I have ever seen. I asked them very nicely to not take full drinks off the table when they were clearing. A minute later the Indian bus boy brought his other bus boy friend with him and openly started acting belligerent. Saying, "don't tell me how to do my job". Very calmly I said relax, you are only hurting your tip, then they called over the floor manager, another Indian guy, and without even saying a word to us he lifted the near empty bottle of Grey Goose off our table, as if to say, "get out of my club". This was our second bottle. We were a nice group of good looking girls and guys buying multiple bottles, and the Indian waitstaff somehow felt entitled to act up. It was outrageous. I honestly can't imagine what they thought they were doing. Suffice to say this place is way way too crappy to put up with service like that. Don't believe the hype about a mercedes waiting or VIP table service. This place hands down has the worst servers in Manhattan. I live a few blocks up from this place on Bleecker and there are tons of better places with much better DJs in the area. If it's an easy door with a short line you are after go to Highline Ballroom. You still avoid the B&T and get a much better experience.

Pros: Cheaper bottles

Cons: Horrendous Waitstaff, No Dance Floor, Dreary Basement Decor, Too Lax Door Policy

I was on Bleecker street with my boyfriend getting some frozen yogurt from eskimix, which i have to add was delicious, when i met the owner of 49 grove. He took us to his club and we had an incredible time. The DJ played some really cool tunes, and their cockails kept me dancing to the ealry hours of the morning!!! Cant wait to go next saturday.

Was here on a Sat night. The place was full of great looking women and no B&T crowd. DJ Patrick Carroll was great mixing hip/hop, 80s and house and kept the party going til 4. Def one of the best sounding DJs. The place was packed, I recommend checking this place out, if you're sick of those 27th & 28th St B&T clubs.

When I saw this place and knew right away this was the spot to host my next social networking event! The members of NetMixer are held to a certain standard and 49 grove has that. I will be hosting there regularly. check us out at Netmixer-events dot com

I love on this place!! Shout outs to Life, Ceaser, JD and the rest of the staff. They're the greatest! I frequent this place mostly because my roommate promotes here, but I truly do enjoy the atmosphere. The ceilings are low which I personally find comforting. I'd consider this place more of a lounge then a bar (maybe that's what it's actually classified as I don't even know). But the staff is very personable and there's almost always enough room to get you're swerve on. Bow chica bow. Music wise - they play the same type of songs you'll hear at any major clubs (Modern pop songs, hip hop, Journey that you can't help but sing tto, old school stuff like Blackstreet - No Diggity LOVE IT perhaps because I was drizzunk). But that's besides the point. If you're down for a more intimate setting where you can chill/ and/or dance like a maniac like I usually do with your peeps or some cool cats you have yet to meet then I say give it a shot. NOTE: Preticious bitches/desutcbags are unwelcome! I highly reccommend sticking with the clubs where you can rock that super sexay mask of yours. I actually just came from there so this review might not be the most insightful but hopefully you'll pick up what I'm puttin' down. Contact Rex Workman or Jennifer Denes on Facebook and get hooked up with free admission/drinks all night. Peace out party people! P.s. I'm serious bitches and d-bags stay away. I have a mean left hook and I know how to use it.

Pros: The general vibe. Read the damn review. I'm lazy too just do it. Dual handles on the staircase for overly inebriated folks.

Cons: The TVs? The lack of House music? Whatever nothing's perfect. Just check it out.
