This place is sh t. Its full of pillow biters and the floor is sticky. Plus there's a girl lurking in there (Allison..?) who pesters you for favours in exchange for cr@ck. Avoid at all costs.

Maybe its the candles, or the casual vibe, or perhaps even the double huge bathrooms so there's almost never a wait. I don't know, i really like this simple place. I will say it tends to get pretty local--everyone always seems to know everyone else late at night and that can make you feel a little weird and almost apologetic cause you aren't cool enough to live on the block or something. Whatever, I smile and just drink more. Then catch my damn cab to Brooklyn...

Remember when there wasn't crowds of frat boys and velvet ropes in the Lower East Side? This bar does too. Good rock tunes, decent drink prices and cool people guarantee a good time, plus it's decorated like some movie star's home in the San Fernando Valley circa 1970.
Pros: Good music and people

Great Rock bar, I only wish they'd play heavier stuff more often. Good stiff drinks too...the only drawback is that it can be really really crowded and some of the bartenders think they are too cool for life..
Pros: The music
Cons: the crowds and some bartenders

Apparently (if you listen to the bartender) there's a ghost sporting blue overalls who hangs out in this dimly lit, underground bar. When I went there, I was sitting by these 3 tables that each had a lit candle in a glass on them, and one by one they all went out, starting from the one closest to the wall to the one closest to me. Pretty freaky. If you're feeling brave though, this place does have a decent buy-1-get-1 (or buy-2-get-1 if you don't make good with the bartender on the get-go) happy hour. Watch out for their regular Guns & Roses bashes, and of course, for any weirdo in blue overalls.
