Disgusting environment, good happy hour

So we went here to try out a new place, and decided to go during happy hour though on the later end around 7pm. The deals at the time were good but the place was filthy. I know its a dive bar and love dive bars but man this place would not pass the most lax health code standards. But who cares right i mean alcohol is supposed to eliminate germs at least the ones on the glasses.

The part that left a bad taste in my mouth was the smoking and the when happy hour ended how expensive the drinks were for such a dive. Many many better places out there, that also let you smoke but have decent filtration systems in place

Great Bar

Well I am new to the east village but I have found my home bar. It is a great mix of music, dancing, drink specials and people. I have only been there on Friday and Saturday nights and there has always been a great crowd. The bartenders are very friendly and make you feel right at home. There is a bartender named Heather that all I can say is WOW. She is definitly worth going to see. Trust me on this one people.

Great Dive, PBRs are reasonably priced, Ladies Dance on the Bar!!!

This is a great dive bar for anyone who is looking for a Coyote Ugly type bar without the country music. Mostly rock/pop music is played here. Also, some 80's rock on their touch screen jukebox. It can get uncomfortably crowded at times and it's true that the smoking law isn't obeyed here as of a couple of months ago. The bouncers are cool and just about anything goes here! Beer is expensive here, with the exception of PBR.

• Pros: Coyote Ugly Type Bar, Dancing on the bar, just about anything goes, cool bouncers
• Cons: Expensive beer, smoking inside the bar is allowed, not enough country music

After I got my a$$ grabbed I never came back.

Read on for the relevance to my headline! I am a connoisseur of dive bars and have been frequenting some of the best old and new dives on the LES for years. However, 2 x 4 just doesn't make my list of great places to go-- I highly do NOT recommend this joint. The drink selection isn't that great and neither are the prices, but the happy hour deals are good and before this incident, I'd sometimes meet friends just for the HH before it got crowded. But when it starts to get packed...ugh. We are definitely not fans of the dumb frat boy crowd, and I sure as h*ll am not after my last bad experience there! Definitely not that great socially, and I've been uncomfortably harrassed by men there too (physically grabbed, NOT fun-- I never came back after that). Yeah, men are supposed to h i t (<-- THAT is considered a curse word??? no way!) on you at bars and whatnot but I was blatantly groped (chest and a$$) by some stupid frat boy who I wouldn't have touched with a 20 foot stick-- and the bouncer seemed to think it was funny better yet! Bars where women get objectified is one thing but that **** goes too far, like they think youre "asking for it". Oh yeah, and the No Smoking In Bars law doesn't apply here. I quit smoking last year so that makes it even less appealing. To any boys reading this-- honey, you're better off going to a real strip club where women at least get paid to make complete a$$ es of themselves. Drinks probably be cheaper too.

• Pros: Good location, decent happy hour deals, starts and stops there!
• Cons: Horrible crowd, place too small, and there's smoke EVERYWHERE.

WARNING - NY SMOKING LAW IS NOT OBEYED HERE! UGH!

Unless you smoke like a chimney and/or don't mind being in a room full of cigarette smoke, this place is NOT for you. My BF went to this bar this past week-end and he said that almost everyone there was smoking INSIDE THE BAR and it was hard for him to breathe yet he's a smoker. I would've given this place a chance since they play a little bit of everything on the jukebox but just the thought of being a smoke-filled bar, I've changed my mind. THIS PLACE S*CKS AS BAD AS IT SMELLS! :(

SO MUCH FUN!

Went to 2 by 4 with a bunch of friends the other night and loved it! The place is so layed back and the bartenders are so friendly. We all got the all-u-can-drink Bud special for only $10 we drank till midnight! and we got free shots for dancing on the bar! It was such a blast we will totally be going back.

The classic roadhouse joint serves frat boys clamoring for sexy ladies.

Amid street signs, bottle caps and hanging bras, girls dance atop a 20-foot bar in a dimly lit space strewn with tables and stools. The dive bar is similar in style to Coyote Ugly and Hogs & Heifers, but without the crowds. Diversions include a country and classic rock jukebox and well-loved pool table. A must try--You're sure to have a good time!

Each time we've been it has been awesome. It's a place you can feel comfortable, meet all kids of people, but most importantly have a great time! The atmosphere is crazy! We have become regulars even though we live far!!!

This place is the best! from the 1st time I went there I've decided it one of the best and it didnt dissapoint me ever since. its like a college party every night of the weekend but the hot bartenders are dancing on the bar every night.

make sure to check out the bra collection that all the girls took off and left on the bar.
