Worst tour ever!

by anusser at Citysearch

Tour was overpriced and overhyped. Customer service was terrible. I enjoy taking city tours in every city I visit and this was by far the worst experience I have ever had. It darkened our overall visit and impression of New York City. We may never return, which is unfortunate, because prior to this trip, NYC was my favorite city to visit!

Fantastic Tour!

by cinderelochka at Citysearch

This past Tuesday August 4, at 3pm, my colleague and I stepped on

board for the "See it All" Manhattan tour. We were more than

pleasantly surprised to say the least. First off, to start the

afternoon our tour guide Tyler was not only incredibly knowledgeable

of Manhattan, but outgoing, hilarious, and always smiling. He

introduced himself, and began the tour taking us to every place as

promised, from the website.

During each stop, we were given plenty of time for excellent photo

opportunities of the best quirky spots to snap a picture in Manhattan,

as well as constant information and facts pertaining to the history of

re-enactment of a personal story from history of each place. Tyler,

our guide, kept track of us and made sure that everyone was included

with his friendly manner and professionalism. As the tour group is

small, everyone has a chance to participate, ask questions, hear the

tour guide, and step around freely without the annoyance of a large

group of people also around trying to get to see the same places at

the same time.

Now, though I am originally from Russia, I have spent several years

now splitting time in Brooklyn and L.A, and have been on several

different tours-here in Manhattan- I must say that OnBoard Tours NYC

is by far the best experience I have had. And bringing my friend onto

this one to show him around NYC was the absolute best choice I could

have made.

Not only did I learn more about Manhattan than I ever knew before, but

I had such an enjoyable time learning it from our fantastic tour guide

Tyler, and I would definitely recommend it any day of the week to

anyone visiting New York. Whether you have one day, or you are a new

resident to New York- I truly recommend OnBoard Tours!

Great Find

by sphoenix at Citysearch

My family and I went on this tour the week of February vacation. Trying to keep 2 kids, 16 and 17 interested for 5 1/2 hour is tough but Tom was able to keep all of us involved and interested. I have been on the big bus tours before and they just can't compete with this small tour. The knowledge that our guide Tom had was the best. If you are looking for a tour of the city that gives you the real feel of the people that live here, do yourself a favor and take this tour. They have water and soda during the tour. As for Tom as your guide and you won't be disappointed.

  • Pros: Tom
  • Cons: no bathrooms on the bus

Fun and Informative! New York City in 5 1/2 Hours

by pellagra at Citysearch

While visiting New York recently, friends recommended Party Shuttle to check out the city. Though we had reservations about taking a tour, we couldn't have had a better time. Our tour guide was interesting and informative, while keeping the spirit lighthearted and fun. It was a great way to check out the city after arriving.

I was disappointed to read an earlier review's perspective of the tour. The tour is advertised as a five and a half hour tour, and that's what we received. The previous writer said that the tour included "1 full hour of the tour consisted of being left at a shopping center to fend for ourselves." After touring for two and a half hours, we stopped for a 45 minute food break. We considered this a welcome stop! And the "shopping center" mentioned was the South Street Seaport - a huge dock overlooking the Brooklyn Bridge with at least a dozen restaurants to grab some food and a drink before continuing on the tour. It's lousy that they felt they were "fending for themselves," but we had a nice little break, with some great pictures to show. Everyone has their own opinion, but the South Street Seaport was one of my favorite parts of the tour.

If you're going to New York and want a great way to see the city, I highly recommend New York Party Shuttle. A true highlight of our visit.

  • Pros: Small group, Great tour guide, good value.
  • Cons: Didn't want it to end!

Great City Tour

by johnsondaviss at Citysearch

Being my first time in New York City and only having a limited amount of time, we're very happy we found New York Party Shuttle-Tours on Citysearch. We saw all the spots we wanted to including, but not limited to, Times Square, Empire State Building, Rock Center, Wall Street, Central Park, 5th Avenue and many other spots. The people were friendly and we had a great time. Highly recommended.

Tour was much much shorter than advertised. When later brought to companies attention, no accomodation was made.

by tourist2 at Citysearch

The tour was promised to be for 5 1/2 hours and it was not. The tour ended 45 minutes early, plus 1 full hour of the tour consisted of being left at a shopping center to fend for ourselves. In reality we received a 3 hour and 45 minute tour for the price of a 5 1/2 hour tour. Not at all as advertised.

Update 7/12/06: after much complaining the company agreed to refund 25%.

  • Pros: Tour was 3 3/4 hours plus 1 hour at a shopping mall, NOT 5 1/2 or 6 hours as stated
  • Cons: The company agreed to refund 25% after much haggling.
