My computer could boot all the way into Windows. NYCH got it fixed and back to me in hours. Priceless.

A very trustworthy place, hence the brother reference above. I was told that they'd look at my dead computer and give a cost of repair prior to doing the work. When it turned out to be a bad motherboard, they recommended against the high cost of replacing the guts and instead just back of files. I was really pleasantly surprised with this recommendation. I really felt like these guys cared almost like family. I was expecting to get my computer fixed for a high cost, and that was that. But, I relly appreciated the honesty here and would openly send all my friends and family here without reservations.

I installed a new DVD drive in my computer, and then it wouldn't start. I brought it here and they fixed it in just one day, and it cost a lot less than what Best Buy or Circuit City would have cost. I'd recommend them to anyone.

Pros: Excellent service and value.

Cons: The place is small and kind of underwhelming.

It is really hard finding a computer technician who speaks in a way that I can understand. I've been through numerous tech companies, but was never satisfied since the repairs always found their way to be not fixed and the techs either didn't attempt to have me understand them or just were not understandable. NY Computer came out to fix my wireless network and went a step above to review what was done and what I should do if I have any complications. I was then shown some easy tips for shortcuts, sharing a printer, and backing up files. Definitely much more than I expected and that's why I highly recommend this "diamond in the rough" firm.

My 8-year old PC died on me and needed to recover my accounting data from 5 years worth. I also needed some timeless pictures of my children. NYCH got everything recovered in a few hours and I didn't have to skip a mortgage payment to pay for it!

I just got the new iPhone and was very excited, but soon became flustered when realizing I didn't know how to set it up. There was this wifi and edge internet stuff and then pop3 or mapi email choices. I was very confused so I called up New York Computer Help. They got the job done and even set me up for Gtalk even though the phone is not made for it yet. Thanks - i will definitely call again!

My office moved downtown and needed a tech company to move our 20 computers and server to the new location. The challenge was that my old tech company went out of business a week before the move! So, I found New York Computer Help on Citysearch with great reviews and gave it a shot. The reviews are definitely true. Since the first phone call, I received friendly advice and professional service. I wasn't sure how the service would be since it was set up quicker than expected in regard to the setup for the workstations, server, and internet. But, sure enough, a month later I am writing now because there have been no issues ever since. I have since contracted with NY Computer H for a weekly maintenance agreement to further boost our productivity via tech. Just writing now because they definitely smoothed out my office move during a very stressful time.

Pros: Very professional, helpful advice, good-natured

I didn't know if I should fix my computer or not so I brought in my Acer notebook for a free diagnostic. NY Computer Help gave me a menu of options and I decided to back up my files and install wireless. They tested the hard drive and made sure there was not viruses. The techs also gave me some tips on how to set up a home wireless network. Thanks!!

I brought my laptop into NYCH in the morning. An hour later, I got a call back and I expected the worse since my Dell wouldn't turn on at all. I received a diagnostic that the motherboard needs to be replaced. Instead of getting the price pitched to me, the rep told me in a comforting tone that I would be better off moving onto a new laptop. I was actually ready to replace the motherboard until he mentioned that since my laptop was over 3 years old and other parts might be failing soon after investing in a new motherboard, that it wasn't worth it to fix. I really was surprised by such an honest approach. I really respected the candor and honest recommendation. I am now planning to bring my new laptop to these guys to transfer my files over. Good people to work with!
