Best Place Ever!!!!
by Nelly14
I have been taking my dog to Running Paws for almost two years now and am still amazed by how well-run it is. I highly recommend this place to anyone who is looking for a safe and friendly place to take their dog. The employees will do anything to accommodate their customers. Trust me, without even meaning to, I have put them to the test! I have called last minute to get my dog walked home and they made it happen. I have called last minute to have her boarded overnight and they let her stay. I have asked if they could fit her into the groomer's schedule and when they could, they made it happen. They go out of their way for their customers and make me feel that my dog is in great hands when I drop her off there.
This is a place where the employees are genuine and know every dogs name and personality and actually care about their well-being. My dog had to have surgery on her hip and was out for a month at one point. They took the time to call me frequently to check in on her because they actually cared about her.
If you are looking for a trustworthy place where the employees treat your dog and care about your dog as if he/she was their own, this is a place you must check out!
- Pros: Everything! Boarding, daycare, grooming, friendly staff!
Beware Who Your Groomer Is
by NYCite
What a disaster. Jim, who had groomed my doggy before, had an accident and the grooming had to be rescheduled. After two reschedulings, they finally brought in a substitute groomer. I was apprehensive about using her, but they insisted that she was highly experienced. It took 3-1/2 hours to groom him, which was insane. Plus, she gave him a short cut when I told her I wanted him to stay shaggy. Worse, after I took him home, the poor pup kept licking his private parts and rubbing his butt. When it didn't improve, we took him to another groomer, who told us that the previous groomer had not completely cleaned the anal sacs. She finished the job (at no cost) and the dog is back to his old self. She also commented on the cut, as too short for the season. Never will I go back to Running Paws...they obviously do not sufficient checking on their groomers. For more professional grooming go to Remes Oggi Pets on 54th and 1st.
- Pros: Friendly Place
- Cons: If Not Jim The Groomer....Leave ASAP
RUNNING PAWS IS THE ABSOLUTE BEST IN THE DOG BUSINESS
by Stargirl100
Running Paws is the greatest doggie daycare in New York State not just NYC. As an owner of 5 dogs I can say that I did more of my share of research for Doggie Daycares. My hounds have been to a few daycares over the years. Running Paws is by far the absolute best. The staff is courteous, friendly, caring and very loving towards the dogs. Their facility is amazing and my dogs love it. I live in Bronx, NY and travel 20 miles in traffic just to get my dogs to the best doggie daycare around. Running Paws is AMAZING!!!!
- Pros: THE DOGS ARE ALWAYS SUPERVISED
- Cons: None
Not that Expensive!
by PriceIsRight10
I read a few reviews that say Running Paws is expensive. They aren't any more expensive than other day care and boarding places. I have been to 2 other dog daycares and I can say from experience that I spend less at Running Paws than I did anywhere else. They have no membership fee and the setting is ideal for any good dog.
- Pros: Great staff!
- Cons: none!
Exceptional Care
by AugBaby08
I can't express how good this place is. The key selling point for me was that they do not allow aggressive dogs. We all have heard some horror stories about day cares, but the manager knew every dog in there and really did everything he could to ease my mind (ask my husband... that isn't easy to do!). Being able to watch my dog play through their glass wall was great! I would recommend this place to any dog owner looking for day care!
- Pros: Staff and service
- Cons: None!
Absolute Best Grooming
by ChloesMommy
The groomer at Running Paws was Chloe's first groomer (at a different salon) and I was elated to have found him again. Chloe greeted Jim like a long, lost uncle! Jim not only provides the absolute best grooming, but also, he is gentle and caring . . . the consummate professional! As we walked out of the salon, a tourist stopped to take Chloe?s photo . . .
The perfect place for my puppy
by leonela1
I was trying to get the perfect place for Pookie to get her first grooming and my boyfriend told my about running paws, I checked the reviews and I realized that was the only place that had great reviews and 5 stars.
So I decided to take her, and what can I say? Everything was great, the customer service was wonderful and the way that they treated Pookie was awesome.....I'm really happy with the service that they offer...

Friendly, Considerate Staff & Groomer
by winter1234
I took my puppy here for his first grooming and was informed he had to be shaved because of matting (a common problem). I was upset when I heard this, but the staff was extremely considerate and let me take the time to think about what was best for my puppy. They were patient and my puppy got a wonderful haircut, he looked great and he pranced around for hours after the cut - he was so happy! He even wanted to stay and play after the grooming session. I definitely recommend it.
- Pros: Great staff, quick service, experienced and professional groomer.
- Cons: May be hard to get an appt.
Absolutely THE BEST!

We've used Running Paws for 2 years and LOVE them. Our little dog is always happy to see his runner (they hire great people), and he comes home from his sessions well-exercised and content. I'd recommend Running Paws to anyone with an energetic, active dog.
- Pros: great staff
- Cons: expensive
