Cool place...when I was there this weekend I saw some girl getting slammed in the bathroom. That's usually my sign of a solid bar.

excelent service - If you're looking for a great Happy Hour, a place to watch the game, throw a private party, or a great late night scene the BlackFinn has it all. With great drink specials, 20 large plasma TV's & a fun, friendly staff the BlackFinn Bar & Restaurant can accommodate all parties & fans.

Ive been to all the bars in the mid town area since I work in the area and BlackFinn is by far the best one. The music is great. Happy Hour is a very yuppie crowd (I am a yuppy on Thursdays though) but Saturday nights are great. The girls are good looking too. I've been to a few parties here, some in the vip space which is nice and comfortable. People dance, drink and just have a good time. The drinks aren't expensive either so overall this is a fun place to get drunk and have a good time.
Pros: nice staff, not expensive, good music
Cons: gets crowded and hot

Went there for the first time this weekend for my friends birthday. Place got really crowded but there were a lot of good looking girls. We didnt reserve any space but the birthday girl wore a crown, so she got taken care of by the coordinator who set up our open bar. The drink specials are great and affordable considering the area. The music was going all night and eventually everyone was dancing. Crowd was pretty down to earth except for a few frat boys here and there but the girls in the crowd and working there more then made up for it. Going back with my boys next weekend. Good bar for midtown area.
Pros: service, good looking crowd
Cons: busy, bathroom lines

I recently celebrated my 23rd birthday at the BlackFinn and had the best time. The open bar special was affordable and the staff took great care of me. The music was great and people were dancing all night. The 2nd floor is very nice. I did not have a private space and wish I did because it did get very busy but that didnt stop us from getting our drinks. When booking your party, ask for May. She made everything really easy and was very sweet on the phone and in person. She took great care of my party that night i will definitely be back at this bar, its a great time and I would recommend it to anyone looking for a fun night out in the city.
Pros: everything
Cons: crowded, bathroom lines

We went there last night for a friends birthday. I have been to this place before about 5 years ago for my 21st and the music and overall atmosphere is still down to earth and fun. We arrived around 9:30, within an hour the place was sooo packed that we couldn't even enjoy ourselves. If we didn't already pay for the 10-1 open bar, we would have left! They allow waaay to many people in the place.. .expect to spill your drink all over yourself or the floor because there's not even enough elbow room. IM concerned that the amount of people they allow is a serious fire hazard and should be looked into. But, on a good note, the music a great (although there's no room to dance)...and if you reserve a VIP spot, you will have a great time. Unfortunately, the crowd was just too much for us.. its not worth the trip to NYC...we wont be coming back.
Pros: Good music
Cons: crowded

Walking in I expected your usual, oldish-wood-paneled walls and sticky bar but, none of that here. Happy hour is good, patrons are of your finance/lawyer variety but that's expected in this area of town. Give it a try, I was pleasantly surprised.

If you don't feel like spending hundreds on bottle service or waiting for snotty waitresses, go to BlackFinn. If you want an open bar deal with a steady flow of drinks, you get your moneys worth here. Even when it gets crowded, I've never had to wait more than 3 minutes for a drink. The 30$ deal is great and the bartenders are friendly, but they do pay attention to your bracelets, so if you want to keep the drinks flowing to you, don't try and pull a fast one. I had my boyfriends 21st birthday party there, and everyone had a great time. I've been to two other parties since and always had a good time. The lines seem to be getting longer lately so get there early unless you're having or attending a party, they usually let you cut the line. The music is pretty good and they have a nice upstairs and a clean bathroom.
Pros: Open bar deals, bartenders, good looking crowd
Cons: crowded sometimes

Some friends had a reservation here for sunday afternoon football. Was excited to get there and see we had our own TV at the reserved table. Things then went downhill very quickly. There was only one server for all of the tables, so the service was ridiculously slow, and forget about getting a drink. We finally went to the bar. When the food finally did arrive, it was pretty bad. The buns on the burgers were stale to the point of being rock hard, the nachos, billed as being "loaded" were just some melted cheese w/salsa and sour cream (and cold by the time they arrived at the table).
