HORRIBLE!!!!!!!!!
by ashracl at Citysearch
I went to the salon twice to make sure because I have heard so many good things about it. I was given the WORST highlights in the history of hair twice!!! The stylist insisted that she put gloss over the highlights even though I begged her not to. Anyway, after months of not being seen in public or having my picture taken, I have finally recovered from the $$$$$$ and am ready to try somewhere else. I would give a negative star if I could!!!
- Pros: Omm they can use a round brush and a blow dryer...
- Cons: VERY PRICEY FOR NOOOO REASON AND THE COLOR IS TERRIBLE!!!!!
amazing!

I won't let anyone but Daniel touch my hair. I've been going to him for over a year now, and he always makes me look beautiful. My blow outs always last for at least 4 days. His cuts and color are amazing as well...I always trust his judgement and leave so happy! The salon is cute and the girls at the desk are so friendly too. I love this place!
- Pros: great service
- Cons: none!!
Best Hair Ever = Naeemah
by Claudia R at Citysearch
One name: Naeemah. One word: Fabulous. Naeemah Carre did my bridal updo and it could not have come out better. She was a pleasure to work with, both during my trial and the day of. She’s got a sense of humor and great personality that makes you feel at ease while she is doing your hair. But let’s not forget: her work. She exceeded my expectations in every way. For my trial she did my hair precisely as I wanted, and beautifully, with close attention to detail and overall shape. She maintained communication throughout the entire process to get my input as to how the overall hairdo was coming along. As a result, it was perfect.
Fast forward to my wedding day: It had been over 6 months since my trial, so after having browsed through numerous wedding mags in the course of planning my wedding, I had come across hair photos that were a little different from my original updo idea, and wanted to incorporate those looks into my hairdo. I myself wasn’t sure exactly what I wanted, but I knew I wanted a mixture of my trial hairdo and a few new photos that I showed Naeemah. She created a work of art, a sculpture of perfection on my head, incorporating all the elements I wanted to add since my trial. My hair looked amazing, and it was thanks to her, her creativity, and her talent. In all of my photos, it looks great. Naeemah (and her shining smile) was also on time, and worked at the perfect pace—which, as any bride knows on that day is much needed.
It was such a relief not to have to worry about my hair throughout the wedding, and whether it looked good or whether I was keeping it in position. It maintained its shape through high humidity, rain, getting in and out of a car, and going up and down stairs—lasting the entire night. She armed me with numerous pins of various sizes in case any wisps of hair should come loose. My guests and family were in awe, and complemented me the entire night on how beautiful my hair looked. Even my husband (and we know men can’t tell an updo from a pony tail) complimented me on it and said it looked really great.
If I were to have another wedding, Naeemah would be doing my hair, hands down. And if any event in the city calls for an updo (a friend’s wedding, perhaps—please?) I will use Naeemah.
Thank you Naeemah! I hope we will meet again soon.
- Pros: Amazing hair, attention to detail, creative.
- Cons: Please, this girl is perfect.
Best Blowout

I love the whole concept of the salon, the place is so cute and cozy.
My stylist Vince was AMAZING !!!!!! I can't tell you how hard it is to get a fabulous blow-dry that last and last.
At first when I met my stylist I wasn't too sure about him because he seem kind of young and I thought to myself he must be inexperience but he proved me wrong! He gave me exactly what I wanted and he was so professional and courteous. I was literally Blown away.
The only thing that bugged me was that you can't leave a tip on your card. Cash only.....
I would highly recommend seeing Vince if you want an Amazing Blow-dry.
- Pros: Quick, Friendly, and long lasting result
- Cons: Can get alittle pack at times
quick and pretty!

I live close to the salon downtown (14th street) and went for the first time this month. Unfortunately, I was in a rush, the girl I had, Marylynn, had me out in time (I have a good amount of hair, it only took about 45 minutes). She was very friendly, as was the receptionist who checked me out while I was getting my hair done. I wanted flowing waves, kind of like Jessica Simpsons but not as big, and I looked great!! I got so many compliments at the event that night I went to, I'd definately reccomend her. Making the appointment was easy, only one days notice-which in the city, can be hard to find. It only cost me 50 (some range more or less depending on what your hair is like.) Cute place too, they do the manicures while you get the blowout; I didn't get one that day but I'm sure I will next time. Perfect!
- Pros: friendly, quality, easy making appt
The stylist was amazing and the make-up artist rocked!!!!!

I had an incredible experience at BlowSTYLING SALON. I am an African American Woman and my stylist was able to style my hair with no problems and the results were exactly as I hoped for. Doug was my stylist and his demeanor was pleasant and professional. I like the ambiance and the diversity of the personalities represented in the staff. Afterwards, I decided to get my make-up done and Cheryl, the make-up artist did an amazing job. She really knows her colors and did an excellent job blending colors creating perfect shades of foundation and lipstick. I never write reviews for companies or services and I'm a demanding customer and expect the highest caliber of service. BlowSALON delivered. I have another appointment during my next visit to NYC. The only reason I'm giving them 4 stars instead of 5, is so that they're not too busy for last minute clients like me ;)
- Pros: knowledgeable stylists and talented make-up artists
- Cons: a bit pricey for just a blowdry but I was happy with the results
the best

Worse blowing

I tried many of the hair stylist and each one pulled my hair harder than the last. I always leave with a terrible headache. They keep your credit information on file, without permission, and without prior notification charge your credit card if you are late or need to cancel an appointment.
- Pros: easy to get appt
- Cons: don't cancel appt or you'll be charged without notification
love the new uptown location.

As a diehard fan I am pleased to report that the uptown salon is just as awesome. I had a blowout with a girl named Nayeema and she was great. My hair looked great. Big and bouncy waves that made me look like a new woman. Also - it was half off my first visit and they offered me a free manicure. Love it!!! I work around the corner and will be back for sure.
Amazing blowouts and good service
by jjjf at Citysearch
Although the prices have gone up so has the service. Amazing stylists and an overall great vibe. I have been going for years and have nothing but good things to say. I always leave feeling transformed and get many compliments on my hair. For the price and service it is one of the best deals in town. Heard they opened uptown and cant wait to check it out.
- Pros: open early mornings
- Cons: gets very busy - need an appointment
