Uninvited dinner guest
by Wgirl
My friends and I went to Nonna the other night and I was excited after reviwing the menu online and reading the reviews....however the last thing you want as you sit down and start to sip you wine is to look down and see a giant insect (we know the one I'm talking about, but this siterdoesn't allow it to be used-very interesting by the way) walking on your purse! The diners next to us also experienced a disturbing "guest" during their meal as well. The wait staff was told, but really didn't seem phased by what had occurred.
The food was decent, but really who could enjoy a meal when your waiting for the next giant insect to come by and sit down next to you!
an Italian gem!

Sometimes you seek out treasures, other times you discover them. My father and I discovered Nonna last year. It's a rustic, warm and welcoming place that seems to say 'life is great' the minute you walk in the door. The decor is like an Italian villa that's been re-purposed for a restaurant. Wine bottles trim the ceilings and old photographs of past guests cover the South wall. The waiters greet you with genuine smiles and the manager is always circling without hovering.
And the food. The food is delicious. I've yet to try something I didn't like. The rigatoni arrabiata, the eggplant parmesan, the pappardelle with mushrooms - all with a couple glasses of Chianti - you can't beat it.
- Pros: everything
- Cons: none

When I ate my meal I could not get over how good the food was. I highly recommend this restaurant to anyone that likes italian food or is just looking for a good meal. The decor is really nice as well.

I went here last night (Wednesday) with a date and could not have been happier with the experience. We were seated right away, at a window seat no less, and the waiter was extremely attentive. The wine list had alot of interesting options and we were extremely pleased with the one we rather arbitrarily chose based on description alone. My entree of pork wrapped around sausage over polenta was perfection - with the pork being extremely tender. My date's mushroom pasta was likewise delicious and the simplicity + quality of it was similar to Italy. Also, the bread had a really unique texture which I thoroughly enjoyed (flatbread strips that were crunchy on the outside with a slight chewiness on the inside). Would definitely go back to Nonna!!
- Pros: ambience, value, bread, food, everything
- Cons: none

My husband and I went to Nonna about two days ago. There service was really good. The staff was so kind to us. The food was also great, and the menu gave us alot of option to choose from. The restaurant decor was really nice. I would recommend Nonna to anyone looking for a nice dinner or the best italian food.

Great value, Delicious Italian, Romantic
by vinoveritas78
I went to Nonna for dinner with my boyfriend upon realizing that the Chef Sammy DeMarco used to work as sous-chef under Gray Kunz, who we love. We decided to try Nonna out and had a lovely, romantic dinner. We were thrilled with the reasonable prices - $5-7 for aps, entrees in the teens, and nice wines by the glass. The space is cozy and warm, and the food was very good. Pizza had nice flavor, lasanga was rich and delicious, and pork with polenta was perfectly cooked. What a find! We will absolutely go back - I think we have a new neighborhood haunt.
- Pros: Good food, Great prices, Romantic
- Cons: Busy servers

Relaxing and warm with great antipasto and well made pasta dishes with reasonably priced wines that fit the cuisine well. Great neighborhood spot!

Wait forever for a table
by rayolight111
Went on a wednesday after we called and were told it would be 20 min for a table, when we arrived they said 10 min- parked us at the bar and it was ONE and A HALF HOURS for a table, the food is okay but definitely not worth this kind of wait, at least if theyd been honest we could ve left and gone somewhere else...plus been here multiple times theyre always out of half the items on the menu and though somethings are great a lot is just so so.....
