good food, Awful awful awful service
by johnspackle
This review is actually about the new 7th Avenue location. The first time i went, they forgot to submit my order, so I sat for 45 minutes waiting for my food until they realized their mistake. Today I ordered for delivery, and after 45 minutes - no food. I called, they said 5 minutes. 20 minutes later I called, they said the delivery guy was lost and it was my fault for not telling them that one street name turns into another between there and here. The delivery guy went BACK to the restaurant, so a starving hour and change later, I canceled the order rather than waiting for him to venture out again with my cold food. These people are ROOKIES with service. The food is unfortunately, excellent. So go eat there, do NOT order for delivery - just remind them to place your order. They are idiots.
- Pros: Good food
- Cons: TOTALLY INCOMPETANT SERVICE

Great place. Inexpensive, clean, cozy and relaxing. Great place for a casual date. Try the lemonade.
- Pros: Service and price
- Cons: None!
Best hummus in the city!
by rebek
This hummus is creamy, flavorful, and just right for a lunch or dinner. The pita bread served with the hummus is warm and soft and a perfect way to scoop up the hummus.
Either the foul hummus or the masabacha is great and topped with a hard boiled egg. In addition, the restaurant includes traditional green hot sauce, onion, pickles, and olives with each order.
Try the special for less than $10. You'll leave feeling stuffed AND satisifed!
- Pros: cheap, flavorful
- Cons: Not great for groups
The BEST CHEAP EATS Place in the CITY!
by nynavigator
There is NO OTHER place in the city that serves such high quality Hummus plates for such a low price! They have 5 or so different plates on the menu for $5 and a great $2.50 hummus sandwich that is amazing. They add egg, tahini, whole chick peas and all sorts of delicious magic into their hummus creations and serve them to you at the cheapest prices you will find! I come here all the time and love it! It's a cute little restaurant with only 7 or 8, two person tables, but they use their space nicely and it's well decorated so you can actually have a quality meal their with someone. Go now and enjoy!
- Pros: INEXPENSIVE, BEST HUMMUS, AUTHENTIC FOOD
- Cons: very small, might have to wait
Locals visit this hummus house for cheap eats.

In Short
Colorful ceramic dishes and ironwork mirrors evoke the Mediterranean countryside at this small, walk-up cafe. University students and others from the neighborhood sit like sardines at half a dozen tables, but are happy to do so for the inexpensive hummus menu. Three freshly made variations--tahini-style, warmed masabacha with whole chickpeas, and Foul with fava beans--can come solo or in complete meals with fresh mint tea or hand-squeezed lemonade, pickles, pita bread and cucumber salad.
