I'm not really a bad cook, but I planned to make Valentine's dinner for my girlfriend and wanted it to be spectacular. So, I called Chef Pete. Together we created a menu that struck a great balance between ambitious and manageable. He put together a list of ingredients, directed me to the best and most affordable places in my neighborhood to get them, and then came to help me get ready. He guided me through all of the prep and graciously handled those tasks that were beyond me. Once all but the very last steps were left, Pete gave me clear instructions for putting the rest of the meal together. Not only was it indeed spectacular, thanks to Pete's easy-going and informative teaching style I actually learned how to cook some new things and have been able to recreate them on my own.
