came here with two friends and we had a great meal. nothing fancy and not the best service. it's a place you want to come and try but not a place you crave to come back to time and time again. one thing that i did like was the ravielli. everything else did not stand out. pricing was fair and portions were decent sized.

Awesome meal

by RMarrs

First of all, I love the atmosphere and the margaritas....but I had the best meal last night! I had an avocado soup that was indescribably delicious. It was recommended by the waiter and he was right. I had the lobster appetizer with it to make my meal and each bite was superb. What can I say....go and enjoy the food!

Innovative and delicious Italian, good service!

by marco0778

By far the best Italian I've had in the city. It didn't try to take advantage of the naivety of the average palate when regarding Italian dining. It's plates were fresh and innovative but considerate of its roots. The decor was just like the food - contemporary Italian. I had the Kobe ravioli which was a tad meager but left enough appetite for a flavorful Tiramisu. The wines seemed carefully chosen for optimal taste for the $. After all, thats what makes a NY meal pricey. To boot, the service was above average. Don't gamble on NY Italian by going here!

  • Pros: Innovative, tasty, fresh and hip
  • Cons: Slightly skimpy...

Great Food, Beautiful Staff, and the price is right

by jklippel

This restaurant is a great place to take your date or to go if you are looking to save some money. The menu is not too big and is very nicely put together. The wine list also was simple and yet had a variety of Italian and American wines ranging from $30 and Up. The veal medallions and the Kobe ravioli are to die for! The waitresses at this place are all Beautiful and are attentive but not annoying. This place is a must see if you are around the area and looking for a great meal at a great price. I'm sure that ?Tre Dici Steak? on the second floor is just as good!

  • Pros: Food, Service, Price
  • Cons: Might be too small for some...

soothing date place.... cozy setting

by fakename00

Just right portions, not too crowded but you can be overheard... the only con is that the wall seating/bench is uncomfortable...forcing you to lean in at all times.

Cozy and romantic, fresh and yummy food.

  • Pros: not too heavy just right portions...nice flavor...oh and the cozy-factor
  • Cons: uncomfortable bench/wall seating

mmmyummy!

by lilgrlk

A group of 12 celebrated my boyfriend's birthday here this past Saturday. They were very accomodating of such a large group and we were promptly seated even though our whole party was not there. For apps we ordered the mussels, lobster salad, grilled octopus. All the dishes were incredibly tasty with each having their own distinct flavor. The sauce in the mussels dish was so amazing we kept dipping into the bowl with bread, long after the mussels were gone.

Entrees ordered were the hangar steak, chicken, seabass and a pasta dish that I cannot remember right now. Again everything was incredibly flavorful. My steak actually came out the way I ordered - medium rare! The chicken was so incredibly tender and juicy. My boyfriend loved his seabass. The tarragon in the sauce really made it stand out.

For dessert we ordered their 20 layer cake and a banana/ice cream dish. Although the 20 layer cake is supposed to be their most popular dessert, I actually preferred the banana dessert. Not to say that the cake wasn't good, it was, but I'm partial to banana desserts.

I would definitely go back.

cute cozy and great

by imananitco

We dined at tre dici on 3/14. It was our first time there and the four of us loved it. The server was professional and the sommelier was very helpful. Each course, starting with the lobster salad, through the grilled octopus and clam strips, to the pastas with lobster and main courses of sauteed veal medallions, veal chop, sea bass in parchment and special ny strip steak, was superb. It does for Italian food where most italian restaurants fail. The prices, for such high quality ingredients and cooking, are quite reasonable.

  • Pros: creative menu and specials

Short rib ravioli is a MUST!!

by ligirlcooks

I took my parents from out of town to tre Dici on friday night , and couldnt believe how LOUD it is in the restaurant .The saving grace is the food--which was excellent. The pasta is great, as well as a hanger steak I got, and the lamb was Top quality. The Crepe cake we had was excellent--so in general the food is good, but the restaurant really needs to work on how loud it is . We could barely hear each other and enjoy our conversation because the loudness was so distracting. I'm sure I would go back again because the food is worth it! I agree that they should expand!

Very attentive service

by leotoni

My wife and I were in the neighborhood and decided to walk in Tre Dici for dinner without really knowing what to expect. We did not have reservations, and despite the fact that was very busy evening, they made an effort to seat us--even if not at their better tables. Service was extremely attentive and the ambiance is modern and cozy. The brick oven mushroom salad was excellent, while the New York stake (one of the specials) and tiramisu were somewhat plain. The place is worth checking, but try and make reservations in advance.

  • Pros: Great service, nice ambiance
  • Cons: Food must notch up to match everything else

add this one to your list of places you LOVE

by inlovewithny08

i have been going to tre dici with friends and family for almost 4 months now and i can only say that it is such an amazing little spot tucked away on a deserted street. i absolutely love their lobster salad and the ny strip steak is phenomenal. the service is great, not to mention incredibly attractive. i love every meal i have at tre dici and it just keeps getting better. some of their new choices such as the oven roasted mushrooms and horseraddish encrusted salmon are incredible. i cant say enough good things about this place.

  • Pros: food quality, attractive AND attentive staff
  • Cons: i cant have the chef in my kitchen everyday
