The old doorman was half the allure of this bar. He was brilliant, but now there is some Dbag who just kind of stands there and brings little to the table.

I stopped by Little Branch late on a Sunday. There was no doorman. We breezed right in and were sat immediately. There was a great 3 piece band playing, which was a nice surprise. The ambiance was lovely. It definitely felt like a hidden gem! There drinks were quite reasonably priced! $12 for all their specialty drinks and for bartenders choice! I've paid $20 for specialty martinis many times before and not had the quality I had here. Our server was very patient and friendly with us, and ended up only charging us for 1 of our 2 drinks. (The second was non-alcoholic, but all the same!) I loved the atmosphere here and will return again and again!
Pros: Ambience, Service, Drinks
Cons: Nothing

Little Branch is one of those places that I'd never have tried if my friend didn't suggest it. The nearly unmarked on the corner of Leroy and 7th Ave door leads downstairs to a fairly small bar with only a handful of tables -- and sometimes it can take a while to procure one. My group of 4 got to LB around 11:30pm this past Saturday night... we waited on line for around 20 minutes, which was acceptable. I understood that this kind of bar isn't one where you want to be knocking elbows and rubbing against people just to use the restroom. LB does a great job of making sure its customers feel like they are being taken care of and feel comfortable. There's nothing worse (in my opinion) than a small, dark, crowded bar filled with guys groping women looking to get sloppy and hook up -- and I'm a guy so I know what I am talking about. LB is about having a drink, trying something new, and keeping yourself under control... in fact the back of the drink menus tell customers the proper way to enjoy a drink. You won't find people puk*ng in the bathrooms here (thank goodness). Anyway our group waited about a half hour for a table to open up, and then I tried a few drinks in the sweet variety... capirina to start, then two bartender's choice drinks, one of which contained apple brandy. I would never order a drink with apple brandy at a bar, and I never have in the past... but I told the waitress what kind of drink I wanted and she relayed that to the bartender, who created something great. I'll definitely head back to Little Branch to try some more interesting drinks and to relax with friends at a cool place. I'm really tired of following people I know to bars where the goal is to get drunk and pick up random girls. Little Branch is a lot better than those places, it's not packed inside, and it is low-key but still trendy. All that combined with excellent drinks makes for a great experience. (5 Stars if I didn't have to wait on line.)
Pros: Awesome Drinks, Not Crowded, Low-Key but Trendy, Great Space, Not Your Typical Spot
Cons: Short Line at the Door (Understandable), Pricey Drinks

I went to Little Branch last night with two friends. We got there early (around 8pm) and easily got a table, which was great - as two hours later, there was a long line outside the door and only standing room at the bar. The atmosphere of the bar is okay, but the decor and low ceiling gives an extremely cramped feeling. I had hear through reviews that their drinks were above avergae but found them to be overpriced glasses of ice. I ordered one drink that had crushed ice and there was really not much room for the drink - WAY too much ice. For the price of the drinks, you would think you could get more alcohol.
Pros: Cozy, intimate
Cons: Price, Very little for the $, cramped

Went there with a friend last night. Nice, cozy and a very knowledgeable bartender. I ordered whiskey on the rocks with a splash of water. He actually took the time to show me how much water he was pouring in so I could stop him as I saw fit. And it was with one rock. Great. Probably not the best place to go on weekends as it got sort of loud around 11pm. WIll try again during the week.

Since Milk and Honey has been closed for close to a month, I've been to Little Branch a few times and have been quite impressed. Though it's not as intimate as M&H the vibe is very similar, the service phenominal, and the drinks to die for. The doorman that lingers outside on Fri and Sat nights can be a bit rude.
Pros: Drinks, Service, Atmosphere
Cons: Doorman

Little branch is a great place if you're looking for a mellow place to chat with some friends and try interesting drinks. Apparently drink making is an artform here, and I do have to say I was pretty impressed. I ordered both the bee's knees and the bee's kiss which are honey and rum based concoctions. Good if you like sweet drinks. The bee's knees had a shot of cream and some nutmeg in it which made it decadent and creamy. mmmm We also tried the mint julep (average) and the dark and stormy which is a ginger beer based with rum. Really good and refreshing if you like ginger. The only thing about this place is that the drinks are so freaking pricey and the staff is a bit cold...I guess that is the standard for NYC but it's still a shock when after an hour of sipping you realize you've just spent $80 on liquids and the waiter hasn't so much as said hello.
Pros: yummy drinks, mellow vibe
Cons: expensive! service is off, unfriendly staff
