So far I've only had appetizers, but they are fantastic. Try the goat cheese and fig bruchetta. The calamari was cooked perfectly, which is difficult to find. The staff is very welcoming, attentive and friendly. I have a hard time believing a meal here could just be a step above mediocre.

One weekday evening, a few of my clients and myself decided to dine at Ribot. As we entered the restaurant, the outside area was busy with happy hour folks, all of whom seemed to be enjoying themselves. The interior's decor was modern, sleek and clean. The service was very attentive and top notch. The head waiter maintained a fun and light hearted rapport with us. The selection of food, in terms of the way they grouped it in different categories (traditional, modern and etc) was novel and interesting. The food itself, though, while good was nothng to write home about. I would say that it was slightly above medicore. My only other qualm was the noise level. We sat on the floor level, which is not very large. There was a group of maybe 7 folks nearby who were chatting quite loudly. With a small space, the noise level became annoying.

Pros: fine place to bring corporate clients, great service

Cons: due to small space on the floor level, noise can be an issue

Last night my husband and I visited Ribot upon a friend's recommendation. What a wonderful experience! It is a beautiful restaurant and we were seated promptly. We began with a chilled cucumber and yogurt soup, which was delicious and perfect on a hot summer night. We then shared the scallop appetizer...3 different preparations of the scallops and each one was better than the last. I ordered the seared cod with artichokes and fingerling potatoes for my entree. It was perfectly prepared...so light and flaky. My husband ordered the grilled swordfish, which he often orders at a restaurant when he is given the opportunity. He couldn't stop raving...it was the best swordfish steak that he has ever had! We managed to save room for dessert and had a platter of assorted Italian treats....all I can say is YUM! Our meal was perfection....the chef is truly talented. The service was wonderful...attentive without being overbearing! We will definitely be back again and again.

Pros: amazing food, great service, ambience

I used to frequent this place last summer for the outdoor seating and drinks. I had eaten here a few times but was never that impressed. I had the opportunity to dine here again on saturday and it would appear as though a lot has changed. The food was very good and the menu was very extensive. The service is very attentive. I will definately be back this summer to enjoy the food as well as the outdoor venue here.

This is a beautiful looking restaurant, but we had the worst service we've ever had this weekend. After being seated, we ordered, and received bread and water, but after 45 minutes, as the restaurant was slowly emptying out, we still had not received our appetizer. When we inquired what was happening, no food still arrived, and no one apologized either. 10 minutes later, we had to actually get up and make a fuss with the waiter -- but still no food, after being in the restaurant for 1 hour and 15 minutes! It was inexplicable and upsetting. In frustration, we finally left with no dinner

A friend recommended Ribot a few weeks ago, finally decided to give it a try. I'm a huge fan of italian cuisine, and I was thoroughly impressed. My sister ordered the Gnocchi di Ricotta, I'm not a fan of gnocchi or ricotta...but was forced to try it. And to my surprise, it was AMAZING!!! I ordered the Warm Valrhona Chocolate Tart for dessert, carmelized banana along with the vanilla gelato and chocolate sauce, sounds like a banana split, but MUCH better! You won't be disappointed.

A group of my friends and I stopped in for drinks on Wednesday nite for martinis. A little disappointed at first to find out it was only well liquor. Uusally at free promotions like these drinks are made with the cheap stuff and tend to be on the weak side but our bartender hooked us up with the good stuff instead. Needless to say we stumbled out of there, pockets not drained.

Pros: bar hookups

Cons: cheap quality martinis

Ribot is a rare find - gorgeous atmosphere, friendly and attentive service, but most of all the food is delicious. The Italian food is some of the city's finest, particulary the gnocchi, as some other reviewers have also noted. Add a great wine selection on top of all of that and you have a meal that is out of this world!

I used to be a frequent customer of Fiamma Osteria, but Ribot has stolen Fiamma's spot. I read the reviews here and decided to check out this spot and it was good. It is a smaller, but not a really small restaurant with a great vibe to it. And the food is finger licking/ plate licking good. The service was prompt and there was a great choice of alcohol. Never got to try the desserts since my date and I were way too full to even get to it. The scallop appetizer was good and if you are a first timer then get the gnocchi as it won't disappoint.

Pros: Wasn't a long wait with no reservation.

A restaurant NOT to miss in NYC! The entire experience was superb! The attention to detail is remarkable. The menu offers many choices, it makes it difficult to choose just one. If you are a lover of mushrooms or chestnuts you must start with the unique Crema di Castagne e Funghi (wild mushroom and chestnut soup with roasted fennel), it will not disappoint! From the Lasagna Bolognese (served in a clay like bowl) to the Parpadelle Pepate (an amazing combination of black pepper homemade parpadelle with lamb and olive ragout and fresh mint) there is little doubt your taste buds will want more. The wine list is expansive, the staff exceptionally knowledgeable, the service simply put is well done.

Pros: Ambience, Food and Service

Cons: None
