Great time.

Went before hitting the movies Sat night, was a great sunny day, all the windows were fully open and with the 2 4 1 beer deal it was just perfect, also had the Garlic Shrimp which was hitting the nail right on the head!!! Went to the movies (saw Tropic Thunder and it was funny as hell) Get this, my girl wanted to go back to this place for food and drinks, the wait staff recommended a great bottle of wine and some taps to go with it, my lady was very happy and that made the rest of my night very happy!!! Thank you Tapeo29.

• Pros: Good looking crowd, very easy going and fun place
• Cons: 2 4 1 beers are only to 8PM

Good to go for 2 for one beers but pay as you go and then get out of there! The food is not good, poor quality and overpriced but the management is worse. We were there with a group of 5 for a pre dinner drink/snack and ran up a $600 tab. When we received the bill there were multiple things we did not order and drinks billed we did not have. We brought this up to the manager and tried to explain a 110 pound girl did not sit there and have 10 beers and a shot (she was only one drinking wheat beer and was still sober). just one example. After a long discussion he discounted a couple drinks (still way over charged). worst is when the CC bill arrived it was for the original amount. I will never go back and have steered multiple groups away from that place since.

Chill Vibe

The place is simple & chill. Drinks are inventive & tapas are just right! HIghly recommended for an after work cocktail as the place seems to fill up later in the evening. Staff is friendly and makes good suggestions.

nice for a glass of wine but..

The bar works-dimly lit, pretty good wine selection but the food is really not the attraction. There are great tapas places in NYC- they really should put some thought into their food here

Great little tapas joint

This place should be busier. The food is superb, the wine list extensive, the food is reasonably priced. The joint is small, and lovely, but we can always get a seat. Make sure you get the gambas en ajillo - mmmmm .....

If you want Tapas, it's excellent

If you want a tapas place, this is a good as anywhere else in the city. A fine atmosphere (if a little noisy and not that comfortable seating), and excellent tasting food -- mushrooms & goat cheese, the chorizos, and some specials were all excellent. Probably over-priced, and not that good if you have more than 5 people (we originally had 6 which would've been tight.), but the tastes were amazing.

• Pros: Food Tasted Outstanding
• Cons: Tapas sized portions & a little over-priced

Tapeo 29 is the coolest Tapas Bar in NY

with best value for drinks wine and Tapas, the service there is really generous and kind, we actually returned ALL our drinks (4 flirtinni's) , not because they were that bad just not down our alley, they replaced them all without a thought, brought us all new drinks and comp't us a dessert.! And that why I'm writing here, I just want people to know this place , the food is also delicious, un-expensive and original. go to Tapeo it's well worth it !

• Cons: I don't live in the LES

Numero uno Tapas Bar in NY/ America ??

I'm from Spain and no where Iv'e been to back home serves the Gambas AL aJilo as good as this place ..and thats a fact !

But if that's not enough to wound my Spanish pride the wine list, the music, and the amazing Chef (what part of spain are you from ???) have made this place my only Tapas destination in New York.

Had the best Wine and Tapas experience in NYC ever !

My girlfriends and I just had a night out at Tapeo and we thought the place was gorgeous!! really enviting and warm....not that we are restaurant critics, but we had a huge cool table just for our selves. ..we had amazing martinis, red wine and the Tapas which was just so delicious we kept on ordering more and more... i think we had the whole menu! and compared to all those teeny tiny over priced tapas you get almost everyehere else it was deffinintely worth it....

So anyway We all really recommend this place

And they have a really gorgeous bartender too ;)

• Cons: gets very crowded.. but at least everyones cool

terrible service

service is terrible! the staff is so incredibly rude and impatient and imposing and slightly pretentious. luckily the wine selection distracted us slightly from the nasty people. go elsewhere, many other places in the neighborhood besides this dump
