Awesome Bacheloretty Party

by callisto at Citysearch

I threw a Bachelorette Party for my cousin here & everyone (15 girls) had a wonderful time. We left with plenty of innovative moves, funny moments & pictures (no videos), and plenty of laughs. It was such a good time. Learning how to pole dance was intriguing. Our instructore (Teazz) was great. We learned techniques of lap dancing and stripping & it was well worth the money. We got the package with the refreshments & cake (try the strawberry shortcake) which was good since we needed a drink break every so often. It is hot in that room though, that's my only complaint. Also, don't get there earlier than the 30 minutes otherwise your large group will have no were to wait since their waiting area only fits about 5 ppl comfortably. It's a regular dance studio when you get there, but they have a backroom for private parties. You have to try it & you'll become hooked!

  • Pros: Plenty of Fun for All
  • Cons: Hot Room, Small Waiting Area, Closes 6pm SHARP

They bring the SEXY out of you!

by Vonniem at Citysearch

I been going to EDC for about a month now and im soooo happy I went! I LOVE that place because they know what there doing. Instructors are patient and willing to show you until you get it right. So far I had Alex and Alieesha and their GREAT. I go back tonight for sensual floorwork and cant wait; especially to see the new location. I recommend anyone to giving them a try, they will bring out another side of you where you will be happy you explored it.

Completely unprofessional

by nyreviwer at Citysearch

I called yesterday to book a party. The person I spoke to was very friendly and tried to help accomodate me for the times I requested. She told me that she would have to call the instructor and would get back to me at 3:30 today.

I didn't hear back by the alloted time so I called the stuido today at 8pm. After being on hold for 10 minutes, I was told that those times didn't exist and they couldn't help me. So I asked if the person I spoke to yesterday wrote down a note or if she might have already entered me into the "system" this woman kept referencing to. Her response was "Do you know who you spoke to, because I don't. We don't have those times available."

Obviously I'm calling a small business and I didn't find it necessary to ask for the name of the person I was speaking to . Is this place so incredibly disorganized that they wouldn't be able to figure out who was working the day before at the time I called? From the conversation I had today, I would venture to say yes. If the times weren't avaialble, I would have completely understood, but instead, they gave me this run around that was not helpful and left me with having to find a new venue.

If you want to book a party, be sure to get a name of who you are speaking to and the book it that DAY, otherwise save yourself some grief and go elsewhere.

Fun work out

by CSMobileUser4 at Citysearch

I was very skeptical going into pole dancing as a form of work out. EDC staff made it fun and very comfortable. I love the fact that they have various classes to take and at affordable price. EDC is definitely the place to be to have a fun and great work out. I am now a regular customer:-).

Professional Environment & Staff

by TammyK519 at Citysearch

I have taken several courses with EDC Dance Studio. I am a continuing student who loves the professionalism and experience of the instructors. The artistic direction of Alieesah, the owner, is superb. Learning the art of pole dancing has really transformed my body and level of physical strength, and is also my new passion. I recommend this school for anyone looking for variety in their workouts (they have many different classes and courses to choose from).

Great Girls Night Out!!

by RAcitysearch85 at Citysearch

I was looking for fun night out with the girls, and could not make up my mind. We do dinner all the time, so I wanted something different. Going out dancing was on option, but again, very typical saturday. I came across this dance studio and it sounded like such a cool idea! And you can get a great workout at the same time?? SOLD. So we booked a private party, for 15 girls. Most girls have a dream to express their kinky side, we lived it! The instructor was great and people were friendly. EDC Dance Company is awesome!

EXOTIC PARTY CENTRAL!!!

by DreamerDay at Citysearch

I can't tell you how insulting it is to read about 'pole dancing' classes and learn the trainer is a Crunch step instructor. How can you learn how to 'drop it like it's hott' from some personal trainer who's never been into a strip club?! WELL NOT HERE!!!!

I've have classes and a birthday party here and I LOVE IT!!!! The teachers are REAL pole dancers and bring ALL you need to learn how to keep yourself and MAN happy! On my way here tonight in fact for GIRLS NIGHT OUT!

If you want a REAL experience, come here! Skip the lousy imitations at Crunch and NYSC.

Horrible

by La Reina at Citysearch

I regret ever giving them a single penny...this is by far the worst pole studio I have ever been to. I've been to a lot of the pole studios in the city and all around the country and was astounded by the poor quality of instruction here.

Last year, I signed up for classes to test out the place and the trouble began even before I stepped foot in the studio. Trying to coordinate on the phone with these people was a losing battle...the inconsistent studio hours made it hard to get someone on the phone. When someone did finally get back to me, she was rude and impatient. Fine. I was still willing to give them a try anyway.

I already had pole experience under my belt, but keep in mind that you are not allowed to take more advanced classes unless you have started with them from the beginner level. Which is fair I guess, since they wouldn't want someone getting hurt. Other studios do this, but they allow testing to acess your skills and allow you to move on. But I was told that at EDC I must complete an entire cycle or take the appropriate amount of equivalent drop-in courses to take higher level courses.

So I took a few of their drop-in beginner courses, thinking it wouldn't be a bad idea to brush up on the basics. I have NEVER had such an unenthusiastic instructor in my life...she sounded like she had just woken up from a nap. In the course of 1 hour, she went over 3 mere spins. No choreography, no transitions in to the spin. Just these 3 spins. Are you kidding me? Yes, for $25 you can learn 3 spins in a very very slow paced class.

I tried a few of their non-pole dance based classes and have not fared better either. Their staff was dull and none of the instructors were natural teachers. There is a difference between simply showing a student a trick and breaking it down for them and actually TEACHING. Most of them were trained in-house and are inexperienced compared to the amazing hard-bodied pole goddesses that are teaching in places like New York Pole Dancing and SFactor.

To top off the their disappointing curriculum and instructors, you also have to deal with the coldness here. No one will really bother to learn your name and smiles from staff members are rare. You will get random ill glares from the owner though. And trying to book classes on the phone was a complete nightmare. The energy definitely spills out on to their regular students here too...there is little sense of community among the women here. No thanks.

  • Pros: Big studio
  • Cons: Crappy instructors, poor management

Great Classes In A Clean, Friendly & Fun Environment

by vanver76 at Citysearch

I've been dancing for most of my life at several studios throughout the city and wanted to try something different so I looked into pole dancing and found EDC studios online. I have to say that I am extremely impressed with EDC not solely because the classes and the instructors are great, but more so because EDC has helped me unleash my inner goddess. I feel so much more confident and sexy thanks to their classes. I love that they teach the proper techniques that help emphasize a woman's sensuality and re-define her attitude. I've been coming to EDC for several months now and have no plans of switching to another dance studio because the boost to my self-esteem along with the great curves I've acquired are something I could have not accomplished elsewhere. I'm delighted with EDC.

A Place of Self Expression

by shamicdur at Citysearch

Dancing is something I always enjoyed doing. Finding a dance school that provided a new type of dance was something I was looking for. I was amazed at what I found when I found EDC. I truly enjoy taking classes at EDC because they have given me a new form of self-expression through dance. Not only do I get the chance to find my "inner sexiness" through the different classes that they offer, I also get an ultimate whole body workout in a safe, clean, spacious, inviting environment.

EDC has knowledgeable instructors like Alieesah, who possesses a dynamic teaching style. I really like the luxury of having an instructor that is able to simplify pole dancing for the average women who has never been on a pole before in her life! The instructors are down to earth and gentle when giving directions or correcting movements. They are also patient and encouraging.

EDC also offers a variety of classes ranging from "Intro to Pole" for beginners all the way up to "Exotic Dancing Diva" for the exotic dancing expert! Who knew there were so many types of exotic dancing styles? Classes are fun, exhuberating and most definitely a stress reliever.

  • Pros: patient instructors, variety of classes, friendly staff
  • Cons: None
