Best Mojito Ever!

by jujubee1993

Go downstairs to the bar on a Friday night. Sherri (not sure about spelling) is the bartender and she is the best. She makes the most delicious mojitos I have ever tasted. It's so good I can't drink them anywhere else. And the food is pretty good too, plus the portions are generous. Some parts of the downstairs seem to be a work in progress when it comes to the decor, but that isn't something that should deter anyone. Overall I think it's well worth the short trip into Queens.

  • Pros: bartender, mojitos, food, ambiance, the cat
  • Cons: nothing major

Ironic named Mexican restaurant lives up to its name

by GoAheadMan

This recent fascination with digestive tea cleanse products is a total waste of money. Most tea cleanses consist of a three week program designed to get the results you need. Here's a three step program on how you can save time and money with the Creek and the Cave diet. Results may vary based upon how you order.

EAT IN:

1) Order anything from the menu

2) Eat it

3) Run for the restroom

-This method can have you cleansed in no time. You'll enjoy the ambiance of their decorative facilities. Give an hour for eating and the same for seating (not a table)

TAKE OUT:

1) Order anything from the menu

2) Eat it. *Warning* DO NOT EAT IN YOUR CAR

3) See step 3 above

-You won't get the same kind of help from your personal bacterial germs as you will from their frequently used toilet seats, but you might finish a Times crossword puzzle without interruption.

DELIVERY:

1) Call in your order for delivery

2) Wait an hour longer than you were told for delivery time.

3) Regret your soggy order, but get faster results. No chewing involved.

NOT CONVINCED!!! - See what celebrity customers are saying -

Ro O'Donnell - "I had two orders and never made it to the restroom. But i got results, sweetie!. Thank you Creek in the Cave."

Pat Saj - "I was so damed up. Not anymore. I was making vowels like never before"

Paul Hog- "There are few places in North America I've found a creek in a cave? Well, mate, i found one in Long Island City, Queens. Before I knew it, my bloody breeches had breached"

  • Pros: Good food
  • Cons: Bad delivery time

Great place, but not in Brooklyn Heights!

by shunn789

Er, hello, Citysearch? Shouldn't that be, "Located at the spit-out of the Queens-Midtown Tunnel," not the Manhattan Bridge? You must have gotten very lost on the way to this fine spot.

Queens bar scene with Cal-Mex cuisine, live music and a chill outdoor patio.

by Katie Heffernan

The Scene
Restaurant on top and bar on bottom, this bi-level spot is a pioneer in Long Island City nightlife. Situated at the spit-out of the Manhattan Bridge, it attracts some word-of-mouth island-ites, though hip locals already living in the neighborhood make the majority. Fashionably attired, the chatty young crowd chooses between a cozy blue-walled and banqueted restaurant, and the cavernous drinking den down a steep set of stairs.

The Draw
Descend into a multiroomed cave, where a turn of the head reveals another area--the bar, then a hall with pool and foosball tables, and a divey dorm-like set-up of worn couches and floor space where DJs draw occasional dancers. Despite interior elbow room, the Pabst-carrying scene crams outside on the prime warm-weather garden patio--where a weathered white fence encircles the quaint brick backyard with open sky above. When amateur bands perform, part of the pack is found upstairs in the black music box.

I'm here all the damn time. It's a great place. As the owner says, it's like a club house. There's several severely different sections of the place all with their own character so you don't mind showing up over and over. The outside section is awesome and it has the oldest tree I've seen in NYC. Perfect for a chill, anything goes, time.

Cave Rocks!

by fefurat

This is one of the coolest places I've found in a long time. The music is awesome and the place is so chill. It's like hanging out in someone's living room. The place is really anything goes.

  • Pros: Great Environment, Fun, Inexpensive
