This company may once have been good, but my experience with them has been nothing but frustrating. They have a very professional looking website, but have not lived up to any of the claims that are stated on that website and their customer service is poor at best.
1. They said they would call me upon arrival of my laptop. They didn't. UPS tracking said when my laptop arrived and I didn't have any contact w/ them until 2 days later... (because I contacted them!)
2. They claim that a service technician will call within few hours of when your laptop arrives to discuss their findings. Again I had to contact them to find out what was up.
3. All contact with them has been initiated by me with the single exception of them contacting me to give info on how to pay.
4. Once I paid, I wasn't told that they would need to send for a needed part (not even on the online status). Their site says repairs made within 24 hours, so a few days later when I had received no tracking info I called to find out what was wrong. Only then was I told that the part was ordered and it would take 3 days.
5. I called 3 days later and I kept getting put off to the next day. Once they claimed to have the part in their possession (again not updated online... I had to contact them to find out), it took about another week for them to say that the repair was done (remember, they claim repairs are made in 24 hrs.). It has been a week since then and I still don't have my laptop. In fact, the UPS tracking number they gave me did not even show up on the UPS site for 4 days... and I still don't have my laptop. UPS now shows billing info received, but in 2 days there has not been an update to the status or location of the package... assuming they have even given it to UPS yet at all!
Let me state that the only way I have been able to contact them at all is through persistence. Online email is broken. The toll free phone number doesn't work 75% of the time, but occasionally they will answer... occasionally. Online chat seems to work, but I experienced looooong waits (5 hrs, in one case w/o so much as "we are very busy, we'll be with you as soon as we can"). To be fair: maybe because every other form of contacting them is broken, all their customers have to try to jam in at once via online chat.)
If and when I ever receive my laptop, I'm not sure that it will even be fixed. And if I do and it is fixed, the hassle, stress, and headache has not been worth it at all! Legal action may be my next recourse, I'm afraid.
If you want to avoid all this: DO NOT SEND YOUR BUSINESS (or your laptop) TO 800TECH!

I've used these guys on several occaions for the past 3 years (I've probably had them fix 20-30 laptops for my customers) I would send in the unit, have a diagnosis and estimate in 2 business days and get the laptop back the day after repair, ti was great!
over the past few months I've noticed their return times were getting slower and slower, it starting taking over a week before I got some sort of diagnosis back form them. I figured they were just getting busy..
The last 2 items i sent in were a laptop to get a screen replaced and a hard drive to get some data recovered. it has been over 4 months and I don't have either of thee back in my possession. I've tried calls, emails and the online chat on their site with no response.....
Their site looks very professional... but don't let it fool you, these are just a couple of guys in their garage who apparently don't know anything about customer service! There is NO excuse for this!

- Cons: POOR Communication, don't answer phone or emails
