Up high on a patio rooftop in Midtown
by JMcCartney
This is an unmarked bar right off Herald Square. In the hotel lobby, up the elevator, and off at the top floor--all without any signs to indicate it's there. The doors open into a small indoor seating area and small outdoor patio. The bartender is friendly, the tables are close together and everyone gets to know their neighbors. Look up and you're in the shadow of the Empire State Building. Very romantic and great after shopping at Macy's or having dinner in the area.
- Pros: Amazing location
- Cons: It can get really crowded
Great Hidden Rooftop Bar in the Heart of Midtown
Contributor
Me Bar is a great midtown bar, hidden from the bustling Midtown atmosphere on the 14th Floor of the La Quinta Hotel on W. 32 Street. Great staff and bartender, great selection of beer and liquor and an incredible outdoor area (drinking and smoking permitted) that is heated in the winter, covered when it rains, and beautful in the summer. Great decor on the inside makes the bar a comfortable destination for regulars and newbies, alike. A must visit for those looking to have a great night in Midtown Manhattan
Great Bartenders Bad Door Girl
by mffunke
A bunch of friends decided to go to MeBar for another friends Birthday after going out for dinner. Upon arrival the door girl said we had to wait, which we definitely didnt mind. As we were waiting we happened to see a bunch of people exit from the elevator, naturally we got up from our seats and started to head toward the elevator. The door girl instead of asking us nicely to continue to wait decided to throw her ego around and proceed to go on for a five minute lecture on how "we were never told we were allowed to get up from our seats". So we continue to wait. The door girl finally allows us to proceed to the elevator. A woman behinds us is allowed entrance as well, but tells the door girl she would rather wait for her friends. The door girls says a snippy comment on how she's now not sure if the other girl will be allowed to go up when her friends get there. Annoyed we make our way upstairs where we settle in and the night seems to become ten times better. The bartenders are chill and fun providing witty dialogue , bottles of champagne ($30 who could say no?...yea the first glass tastes like razors...but you get over it) start flowing. They definitely saved the night! Cheers to them!
- Pros: bartenders, drinks, other patrons
- Cons: door girl
Not Your typical Midtown bar! Very cool roof top!
by CityGirlL1
What a great find! A cool roof top bar in midtown is hard to find but Me'bar does not disappoint. Great happy hour spot and then you can dine at a fabulous Korean restaurant nearby on 32nd Street!
- Pros: roof top bar, midtown, happy hour
Best Place for Happy Hour
by peaches666
It is a great place to visit for Happy Hour especially during the summer!! You have a great view of the Empire State Building. It is a relaxing atmosphere, sitting outdoors, having drinks with your friends. We had a great time. The service is great and friendly, you will definitely enjoy yourself. I am going back there again.
Only one con - the elevator to the rooftop bar may be slow but be patient because the Me' Bar is your big reward!! Also remember to bring food with you because they only serve drinks. I would suggest appetizers and/or snacks.
Me' Bar is a little piece of heaven that is tucked away in Midtown, who knew!! I am glad I had went.
So go to Me'Bar and have a good time!!
- Pros: Great Drinks and Ambience
- Cons: Bring Food if you are Hungry and slow Elevator Service.
Sweet hidden treasure, chill rooftop bar in Koreantown, minimalist, white picket fence, friendly to smokers
by lisamcollins
Sweet hidden find in the middle of the city---a rooftop, outdoor patio bar friendly to smokers on the 14th floor of Koreantown's La Quinta Hotel on 32nd St. This is a really cool, chill place with fantastic margaritas and wine selection. Good place to go after work for cocktails with friends. The white picket fence and holiday lights around the rooftop---and the Empire State Building looming overhead---creates a chill atmosphere. It's quiet, and makes you feel like you are in the country, except of course you're in the heart of Manhattan. Bringing up some cheap Korean takeout and downing some well-mixed cocktails, you can't beat it for the price.
- Pros: Ambiance, privacy, atmosphere, good drinks
- Cons: Not a scene, off the beaten path
Wonderful Find, Wonderful View
by icequeen41
What a wonderful find this lovely little rooftop bar was. It's a tad strange it's on the top floor of the La Quinta in the middle of Koreatown, but that makes it all the more unique. It is a quaint, attitude-free, comfortable and friendly environment. The bar inside is small and romantic, adorned with candle-lit high tables that provide comfortably private seating. The outside patio, however, is why people come here I'm sure. It is cozy, relaxed, and was amazing, even in the below-40 degrees weather. When you look up, the Empire State Building is shooting up right in front of you, so close you feel as if you could touch it. Wonderful view, and the beer selection wasn't too bad, either.
- Pros: ESB View, Rooftop Seating
Amazing view
by thach2
A hidden romantic gem in NYC. An open-air rooftop bar with a great view of the Empire State Bldg. Hard to beat for a couple of drinks - particularly in pleasant weather or with a full moon. And a terrific beer selection! Ignore the hotel on the way to the top floor.
- Pros: The view, the atmosphere & the beer
- Cons: The hotel isn't much
the setting for great adventures
by customaj
Me Bar is a great place to hang out, meet people, drink, relax and party. Whenever I stop by, I'm always surprised by the diverse characters I run into, the latest drink special (Kobe Bryant anyone?) and the personalities of the bartenders. If you're looking for an undiscovered, attitude free place to go, then this is the one. I highly recommend everyone give this bar a chance, you won't be disappointed.
- Pros: no scene, great location, great escape
- Cons: the elevator takes forever! (but it's not the bar's fault)
A Nice little Rooftop bar
by andrewnyc36
I was recommended to the Me bar from some friends in the city. If your looking for a casual setting on a rooftop bar, this is the place to be.It,s so low key there, which i enjoy. The drinks are so reasonable for a rooftop bar, which is very nice for my wallet. The staff is very friendly. The nice part is to have the Empire State Building right in front of you. What a view!!!
