Best Falafel in New York
by kristenswk
My friends and I were obsessed with falafel in college, and we've been desperately searching for a place as good as our university spot. It's been three years and I still hadn't found anything nearly as good until Taim. It's amazing! Servings are a great size and while the space is super tiny, everyone is so happy to eat that it promotes a rare friendly comraderie for New Yorkers. The traditional falafel is wonderful and the hummus doesn't overpower in the sandwich. The french fries are hot, greasy, and salty just the way I like and the saffron aoli is addictive. I'm sure I'll be there all the time this summer!
- Pros: fresh food, lots of choices, great price
- Cons: small space
good falafel, bad attitude
by philli1
i admit the falafel is tasty and the salads are fresh...but sometimes the staff gives attitude like "we know our falafel is good". and it's good, but not THAT good.
- Pros: tasty fresh food
- Cons: you may encounter attitude
All around great food.

Taim has really great falafels and hummus and the portions are quite generous. Their salads are great (and varied) and they have french fries when you feel the need for some grease (b/c the falafels are greasy at all). The pitas are very good and so are the prices! The staff is really nice. There really isn't a lot of room to sit, or wait for a to go order, but when it's nice out, there are seats outside. I haven't had their smoothies, but my friend was pretty happy with hers.
- Pros: Best falafel I've had in NYC, nice staff.
- Cons: Not much room to sit
Best falafal in a pita anywhere!
by datona13
There falafal is extremely flavorful (and actually comes in 3-4 different flavors a day) and it's not greasy at all! The pita is fluffy on the inside and crispy on the outside. There's just enough hummus, lettuce, and tomatos for a perfect pita!! YUM!!
- Pros: TASTY!!
- Cons: only 2 counter seats
Falafel fans gets three renditions to choose from at this kosher, vegetarian Israeli spot.
by Kathleen Squires
In Short
At this popular kosher Israeli spot, falafel fanatics choose from three varieties: green (traditional style), roasted red pepper and spicy harissa. A mixed platter offers tastes of all three. A spread and salad combo is available with fresh fixings like Moroccan carrots or beets, and fries come with saffron aioli for dipping. Though it's tempting to linger in the sunny space, there are only a handful of stools for seating.
Freshest Falafel so far
by kiwihobbit
I have, like most, had those late night Falafel that are awash of sauce and over-spiced falafel. Well Tiam changes that, these have to be the freshest, crispiest, darn tasty falafels I have had in a very long time. My ideal meal to date, roasted red pepper falafel in fluffy white pita pocket packed with freshly diced vegetables, hummus and spicy sauce. Accompany with a ginger-lemonade and you feel all warm and friendly inside.
It is small and homely, and I always feel welcome when I go there, which is worth its own weight in gold in this city.
- Pros: Seriously fresh everything, cheap and consistent
- Cons: None I can think of ... unless you are alergic to chickpeas
Yes, it really is THAT good!

I've never used the word 'amazing' before to describe a food experience in NY but I have to agree with the earlier reviewer. Everything we had was amazing--the spicey carrots were a revelation (spicy, yes, usual curry, no), the green falafel sandwich was light yet filling. The individual falafel were filled with cliantro, parsley, and mint pesto centers that burst forth when you bit into them. Lunch was actually fun for my mouth! The lemon and orange italian sodas were a nice change--not too sweet, just flavorful.
In a mere 15 minutes, our stomachs and spirits were restored. We left happy and smiled all the way home.
- Pros: only a few stools, healthy food, friendly service
- Cons: only a few stools
Wow

I'm always looking for good falafel and this by far was the best I ever had. Perfectly spiced and made on the spot. The sevice was very friendly and curtious and I hade a date smoothie that was out of this world. My friend had the sabich and found that outstanding as well. It's a shame the place isn't bigger, there are only a few stools and a counter.
- Pros: service, food, price
- Cons: size
Awesome place!!!

I was absolutely amazed at how great and fresh the falafel was - and they have three different flavors (Spicy Harissa for me). Everything is prepared fresh and it was worth waiting five minutes to get piping hot, delicious falafel. The hummus, tahini and Israeli salad were all tasty and fresh. The home-made, crispy french fries were honestly the best I have ever tasted. The service was friendly and efficient. I will definitely be coming back to eat at 'Taim'!
- Pros: Great location, Open 7 days, They Deliver
- Cons: Only counter seating
