Restore facialist still around

So sad Restore Spa has closed its doors but the amazing Janis Chakler is still doing her awesome facials right next door. You can call her directly at 646-436-3518. She uses the same products and does the exact same facials she did at Restore. She really is the best at extractions. Thank goodness she is still around!!

wonderful service, wonderful price!

I went there for 90 minute massage and a 60 minute facial. I was a little skeptical at first since it's in a converted apartment, but BOY was I happily surprised! The place is tranquil, peaceful, and clean. The staff are friendly, and accommodating. My facial was great, left my skin feeling better than I can remember in a long, long time (including after several facials I've had recently). The massage was wonderful...I even nodded off a few times (the ultimate compliment!). Even though the tough knots in my back were being really worked, I didn't feel in pain at all.

Highly Highly recommended!!!!

Amazing Facials

I have been going to Janis at Restore for over a year now, and her facials are a monthly treat I always look forward to. I even had my mum get a facial here when she was visiting me from India! Janis' extractions are so gentle, and she never leaves a blemish or scab or anything, not even temporarily. I could get a facial and go out that very day, and my skin would glow. Trust me, this is huge -- I've been to a ton of palces which leave me sore and bumpy for a couple of days after painful extractions. Another great thing about Janis is that she never tries to push the products she has used on you. Most other spas try to get you to buy the masks and creams they sell, but Janis never pressures you at all. The whole experience is relaxing, serene, and working with Janis feels like you have your own personal expert who is looking out for you and your skin. The Really Radical Facial is a special treat you can try sometimes. And, a couple of co-workers swear by the massages at Restore. So, go check it out - you'll be glad you did.

Impeccable Service

I have been to Restore Spa at least ten times in the last year and have always been happy. I recently moved to Brooklyn from the UWS but still make the trek to Restore - it is so worth the subway ride! I love the atmosphere - a small UWS unprententious setting yet still sleek and trendy. I appreciate the range of services and products the spa offers as well as Janice's breadth of knowledge and experience in the business. She clearly loves what she does and that is hard to find! I also love the specials Restore offers regularly on its website! Prices are reasonable, the staff is friendly and professional and the treatments are fantastic! I just sent one of my best friends and her fiance to Restore right before their wedding and they continue to go back! Restore keeps me coming back to the UWS!

Amazing massage

Based on reviews I had read a friend and I booked massages at Restore a few weeks ago. The spa itself is small but really nice - not a snooty atmosphere like some spas in the city. Carrie did my massage and it was amazing. I felt spaced out (in a good way!) for about 4 hours afterwards. I haven't felt like that after a massage before. My friend was equally happy. I booked for another massage three weeks later (last Saturday) and the experience was just as good 2nd time around. I definitely recommend this spa.

Go Green is AMAZING!

Okay so I usually get a mani and/ or pedi at places that would be the 7-11 equivalent of salons. I may not know nails but I know luxury. I got in on one of the summer (ends September folks) specials and I highly recommend the Go Green treatments. There is a Sade lyric that goes "Never as good as the first time," but I doubt I could ever be disappointed with two 45 minute treatments. I have a handwritten name on my card... looks like Marianella. She's was incredibly thorough. I was amazed at her attention to detail.

Hidden Gem

I have had a manicure, pedicure, and facial at Restore, each service with a different person, and I have to say I was extremely pleased with each service. The nail techs are very meticulous in their work. I've never been a fan of manicures, even at Bliss, I found them boring and not a relaxing treatment...until now. I actually almost fell asleep during my manicure with Anna. The pedicure with Marianella was one of the best ever. And I usually go to Dr Sobels for my facials because I have problem skin, but Janis made my skin glow so I will certainly be returning. She wasn't pushy with selling products either, anything she recommended she gave me samples for. It was not the usual spa atmosphere but its such a small place I loved the warm one-on-one feel to it. I never would have gone to Restore if I hadn't read your reviews so thanks girls!

WOW

What a great find. Tucked away in an apartment building near Central Park West. Very intimate and clean. I had facial, massage, manicure and pedicure. They all did an amazing job. I'm very picky so for me to say that it means a lot. The place was very clean and the one thing I noticed was that they have indiviudally wrapped tooks for the mani/pedi. They open it up right in front of you so you kow that they have been steriziled properly.

My facial was outstanding. No horribe marks on my face. In fact, I was glowing afterwards. The massage was amazing. I left feeling like a new person. I highly recommend this small, intimate studio!!

Upper West Side Oasis

Restore spa is so charming. I went there for their Organic Manicure and Pedicure. The nail person was amazing. She took her time and made my hand and feet perfect! You get to choose the herbs and essential oils that you like. All of the tools are steralized in a medical auto clave, and they open them up right in front of you. It is worth paying a little extra but you have peice of mind that you are not going to get any disease or fungus. This is not your 5 minute nail place.

I also had a facial, which I must say was the best that I have had. My face looked amazing afterwards, no marks, not blotchy. From the head massage to the foot and hand massage I thought I'd died and went heaven.

The place was clean, they knew what they were doing and the customer service is worth it alone. So sweet and nice everyone was. Try the tea's they are quite special. Great job City Search for finding another Gem!!
