I came to Dr. Steadman for nerve pain and found that he is an incredibly zenful listener and very much wants to heal you. He is very aware of your needs and makes sure that you are comfortable and being taken care of. I recommend him highly for acupuncture.
Pros: kind, good listener, and truely wants to heal you

I've been to acupuncturists before who never helped-- but my experience here has really changed my lifestyle. Nicholas treats your whole person, not just your individual ailments. I feel like I've finally found someone in NYC that genuinely cares about my well-being. I originally made an appointment because I hurt my right knee, and I had additional aches and pains on the right side of my body over the past year or two. The treatments have been helpful for these problems, and I've also experienced additional benefits: My period, which normally ranges from nauseating to debilitating, was light and not bad at all this month. I've been sleeping better. And in general I feel more balanced and in control. The positive results I've experienced are not just from the acupuncture. Nicholas has prescribed a blend of herbs specific for my body, talked to me about my diet and lifestyle, and been a great ear when most doctors usually take out a prescription pad. I recommend him to all my friends.
Pros: Releaxing ambience, personal attention and care

After 4 acupuncture treatments my sciatica (hip and leg pain) was gone, and I was actually sleeping better as well, which was a side complaint that he also treated. The overall experience was very relaxing, and the office was very clean and serene. The acupuncture was gentle and effective. The herbs he gave me didn't taste very good, to say the least, but they really helped me to sleep at night. I would recommend Nicholas to anyone, especially if they have sciatica and insomnia.
Pros: Relaxing, effective
Cons: A little pricey, but worth it!

I've been suffering from intense back pain as well as anxiety and stress, which were truly having a negative impact on my lifestyle. A friend from London, a big fan of acupuncture, suggested I start seeing one. After an extensive internet search, I found some very convincing reviews for Nicholas Steadman. I started seeing him twice a week, and although I have a profound fear of needles, Nicholas was very reassuring and made sure to explain the whole process to me. For those new to acupuncture, it is, in fact, a very painless process, and (for me at least) the placement of the needles releases muscle tension and pain. I've been seeing Nicholas for two months now, and the whole experience has been nothing but a positive one. Although the clinic has recently moved uptown (very much out of my way), I continue going, as it is definitely worth the trip.

I started seeing Nicholas last year when I was diagnosed with IBS. My primary doctor and my gastro-enterologist told me this was a chronic condition, possibly caused by stress. Tried a few different medications, then gave up. I went to Nicholas, who used both acupuncture and herbal teas (nasty stuff!) to treat me. Within a few months I was completely well. Now I see him regularly for "wellness" visits and to treat my menopause symptoms. It makes my life bearable without HRT or other drugs.

I was getting so sick of the monthly PMS so I finally made myself to go to see an acupuncturist. (My gynecologist wasn't that helpful.) Nicholas was very kind and professional, and explained to me clearly the condition I had, why I was getting the PMS. After giving me the acupuncture treatment that day, he gave me some herbs to take for the next two weeks. Now it's gone. I don't believe it! I'm so grateful. I still go back to him time to time just to make sure I'm on the right track. I highly recommend him to everyone.
Pros: everything about it!
Cons: none
