Good Food, Good Service and easy on the wallet
by jaredfrahs
After walking around nolita and visiting the bowery musium I decided to stop at 24 Prince for an early dinner. I had been to 24 Prince for a friends birthday party about a year ago and loved the meatloaf. When we walked in the host sat us right away. Our server was the same server who waited on me at my friends birthday. He was friendly and helpful, he told us some of the must haves on the menu. My friend and I decided to share a flatbread as an app, and for our entree's I had the meatloaf and she had the tuna dish(it looked and smelled great but she would let me taste). The bartender makes a great martini and my friend loved the pear pop. If i wanted to be picky i would say my latte wasn't warm enough but everything else was great and I will be back.
- Pros: Ambience, friendly service, location, food & price
- Cons: location, over eating
Perfect Spot Rest.
by susannn
The prices are good for a fine dining restaurant that is usually quiet and casual, the food always tastes good, and they provide excellent waitstaff customer service. I've had the burger and apple & endive, both quite good.Perfect spot.
My regular brunch spot- go early
by justeatout
I was shopping in nolita and saw the sign about the chef Nikki being on TOP CHEF, had to go in. There was a 15 minute wait but it was worth it. We had my 8 year old son with us and my girlfriend and I enjoyed all of the food. I am only writing this because I saw some of the other reviews and disagreed. i use city search alot and I alwyas see both good and bad reviews i just try to read a lot of them. Try to get their early so there is no wait. It is a very comfortable, affordabel and delicious place.
- Pros: Great food, kid friendly
- Cons: had to wait a little bit at brunch..to be expected
Lots of Fun - Lots of Good Food & Priced to Please the Pocketbook
by Lovestoeatout1012
A few Sunday's ago my friends and I went to 24 Prince for brunch. We had a great time! The food was great and so was the service. There brunch menu was tasty and priced right. I couldn't wait to tell everyone I know what a great meal I had there. The atmosphere was very New York hip, but comfy & cozy too. I was also excited because I got to meet Nikki, who was a cheftestent on season 4 of "Top Chef" . Alex was our server and he couldn't be more helpful or attentive. The kind of waiter you enjoy giving a good tip to. I also liked the location in this red hot neighborhood close to the Bowery. If you go with friends ask to sit at one of the round tables. It's much more intimate! I recommend 24 Prince for its fun menu & great atmosphere.
- Pros: tasty familar food with a twist, prices are good, decor pleasant, relaxed atmosphere
- Cons: dificult to find parking
the most awful service, ever... food not that great either
by crzyloulou
terrible terrible terrible, don't go here. went here for brunch and had to wait for the food for about an hour. took them 30min to make our cocktails while we waited for our food and they had to be repeatedly reminded. the restaurant wasn't even full! the food was ok, but not worth the wait at all. on top of that, when we asked to speak to the manager, the hostess came over instead and LIED to us, saying she is the manager (somebody else told us the manager is a man). she didn't even apologize for the slow service or any other complaints. when we found the real manager, he wasn't very apologetic either. horrible horrible dining experience. not acceptable at all.
- Pros: good location
- Cons: terrible, rude service, staff lie to customers
Friday night find
by laxingnewyork
So, this is my first restaurant review. Just being honest. I went to 24 prince Friday night for dinner with a good friend. We sat outside in the "backyard", which, while not being full of plants and green things, was a great find considering it was a friday night and we only had to wait 15 minutes and there are NO outside eating places in this neighborhood beside this one, as we discovered walking around the nieghborhood and being told, no, everywhere we went.
The food was good. Actually, very good. Simple, easy and very good. It is not the place that is going to wow you with decadent amazingness, but kind of reminds you of something you could make at home, but, could never make it near as good. Sorry, I'm rambling. But anyways, the food took a long time, my only complaint. Our dessert took at least 20 minutes, which is sad . But it was good.
Regardless of the complaint, the food was very good. The service was amazing. Our server whose name I forget but I think started with an S - Sam - Steve - something like that, was so helpful. He even told us that we had ordered too much food and suggested we order less. and he was right. And, further, he was nice. Not that fake nice, you know, that waiters and waitresses are, but to us, genuinely nice. We asked him what to do in the neighborhood during meal, and when he brought the bill, he brought a list of places and locations where we should go. We are not from New York, so this was amazing.
Sorry to ramble again. But, this restaurant is really good. The back yard-ish area is nice, the service superb and more than knowlegeable, and the feel is very "new york", at least from a seattler's point of view.
- Pros: Service, backyard, location
- Cons: waiting
This is a Top Chef restaurant?
by KateSchneider72
I have had brunch at 24 Prince twice now, and the experience isn't getting any better. The reason I usually end up here is because there is a garden in the back, and it is always nice to eat outside. The first time I ate here I had the baked eggs. My friend ordered the chicken salad. Her sandwich came out quickly, but she was almost finished by the time I got my eggs. Once I did get them, they weren't even cooked all the way. They were runny and wet! The second time I got smart and ordered the truffled chicken salad. It was really good. But my friend ordered a salad that we could have made better at home. Don't expect anything extraordinary out of this place, at least for brunch.
- Pros: Outdoor seating and amazing chicken salad
- Cons: Pricey for the quality of the food
Dismal brunch
by zeedee
Two of us went to 24 Prince for brunch today, and even glimpsed Nikki, the Top Chef contestant popping into the dining room - so we can't excuse the terrible meal based on the idea that the chef wasn't in the kitchen. But the meal was dreadful. The place was nearly empty when we walked in, and there seemed to be a lot of waitstaff around. Throughout the meal they refilled water glasses a million times, but otherwise seemed to be buzzing around trying to figure out what to do.
Coffee was offered quickly and it was fine. We ordered the bread basket while we decided what to order. It took an exceptionally long time for a basket of burnt toast to arrive - setting the stage for their bizarre treatment of bread throughout the meal. Silly me, for six bucks I figured we'd get at least one or two homemade bakery items, but this was a pile of high-end, store bought bread served severely burned.
After a wait the food arrived -- baked eggs that seemed so wet that they were barely baked, and a brioche french toast that seemed that it hadn't even been soaked in eggs, and once again it was burned to a crisp. The french toast looked grim, and tasted worse. We kept the pseudo-baked eggs and sent back the french toast. A replacement plate of scrambled eggs was a much better choice, and even came with some pretty good breakfast potatoes. But it also came with a side of burned toast. What's up with that? They should invest in a quality toaster or just get out of the brunch business.
- Pros: Plenty of tables available for brunch
- Cons: Inedible food and bizarre service
Busy but worth the wait
by NJCIII
I went in on Thursday night and I was surprised how busy it was. After learning the chef was going to be on this coming season of TOP CHEF my partner and I were excited. I figured that was why it was so busy. We had to wait 15 minutes and the service was a tad slow but the food was DELICIOUS and just what we wanted. I could tell the servers and mgr were busy but I asked to meet the chef anyway. She is adorable. We will be back.
- Pros: cool bar and lounge to wait in
- Cons: may be a short wait
Yummy

This restaurant has outrageous food and desserts for a very affordable price. The staff and service is great and the overall atmosphere is excellent. Highly Recommend!! 5 Stars.
