LOVE this place

The goat cheese & arugula slice is SO good. It's like a salad on a slice with the best thin honey whole wheat crust. This is truly perfect food.
- Pros: Heathy & delicious food you feel good about eating.
- Cons: None.
Favorite Whole Wheat Pizza Delivery Place in Manhattan
by oompanyc
I love their Honey whole wheat crust, Homemade basil pesto sauce, Part-skim organic mozzarella cheese, with caramelized onions and chicken sausage...mmm good. They also have a great salad, be sure to try the homemade carrot ginger dressing.
- Pros: healthy ingredients, whole wheat crust, pizza delivery
- Cons: pricy for individual servings
Overpriced and gimicky
by Denny401
Just came out of Slice having dropped $6.50 on one of their lunch 'specials'. I got one plain slice and a small salad which looked less than fresh. Oh, and copped an attitude from the girl behind the counter to boot. I told her after I had ordered and paid that I was coming back in a minute (I wanted to go out and pick up a coffee). Well she took this to mean I thought the wait was going to be long and sneered at me "it will only take three minutes". Obviously she's used to people complaining. This place is not worth it. The clincher: A sign visible to customers behind the counter which instructs counter staff to "put on at least one ounce of cheese per slice and at least five ounces of cheese per pie". So this basically tells us that (a) the counter staff don't know what they're doing and (b) there have probably been complaints about serving sizes and toppings in the past.
Great Gluten Free Pizza, in the neighborhood.
by reviewer2006
I recently ate the gluten free pizza at Slice and thought that it was very good as far as gluten free goes. Unlike some of the other reviewers, I did not get delivery. I found that the service in this small neighborhood establishment was excellent and that the pizza was a nice change from the usual gluten free fare. I will definitely return. My non-gluten free dining companions were also very happy with their pizza and salads and thought that the gluten free pizza was quite good too.
- Pros: GLUTEN FREE PIZZA!!!!
- Cons: Only have gluten free pies, not by the slice.
Great pizza!

I disagree w/ the bad comments. I love this pizza! I live in midtown and go up to slice just for the pizza. I have even paid for the delivery guy's cab to have him deliver to my apt. I have never had the staff be rude, in fact they are always especialy nice.
Don't even THINK about paying for this GLUTEN-FREE PIZZA!
by vkd5
I've never written a restaurant review before-- but this pizza was so bad and so overpriced that I felt I had to speak up.
If you can't eat wheat or gluten, you would do better to buy a gluten-free pizza crust mix and make yourself a pseudo-pizza (or better yet, go down to the west village to Risotteria) than to order from Slice. We haven't tried their regular-crust pizzas, but the gluten-free pie we ordered the other day (with 2 toppings= $30!!!) was absolutely awful: the toppings were really, really minimal, and the "crust" was a gritty polenta-like substance that was way too thick and tasted like play-doh. Also, it arrived cold, and even though we included a $5 tip on the credit card charge when we ordered, the delivery guy pulled attitude when we didn't give him any additional cash.
At first we were excited that a local pizzeria was attempting gluten-free pies, despite their pretentiousness. But please do yourself a favor, fellow gluten-free people, and take your business elsewhere. Don't fall for their "organic, perfect food" line and ridiculously high prices!!! There are much better options around town.
- Pros: None
- Cons: Pizza is terrible, extremely overpriced; delivered cold
Good, healthy pizza!
by Damek
I love this place! I love their pizza. The crust is crispy and the ingredients are fresh. There's a slight attitude in the menu and staff, but I've not had a bad experience. They're doing something new I've not seen in the area, and I really love the fact that their restaurant is trying to be sustainable - it's even built with environmentally-friendly materials. They're going out of their way trying to create a delicious gluten-free pizza - no easy task! Unfortunately some customers have been disappointed with their experiments so far and feel they're expensive. When I can go to the cheapest (unhealthiest!) pizza joint in the area and still pay over 2 dollars for a REGULAR slice (cheese only!), I think paying 5 for a healthy slice with multiple fresh ingredients is practically a bargain! The Upper East Side is expensive, people. This place is not, when you think about it. If you go here looking for their gluten-free, be aware you're participating in an experiment. Other than that, enjoy!
- Pros: good pizza, ingredients & crust, eco-friendly!
- Cons: slight staff attitude, hardly out of place in the UES
Still waiting for my $23 back
by stellch
I live on 73rd street one block from the restaurant and my order took over an hour and half to arrive. When I received it, I was charged $23 for a HALF of a regular pie (gluten free) that was the portion size for one person at best. I called the restaurant explaining that the pie was not priced this way on the menu and was told that new menus with the pricing would be printed soon?? I told them that this was unacceptable and that I was unwilling to pay. The owner then proceeded to tell me that their pricing was competitive with other pizzerias in the area. To take it one step further she then ridiculed me for not thinking that this was reasonable. As an fyi I have lived in the area for 4 years and have literally eaten at every pizza place around and have never seen pricing like this. I hung up the phone and reluctantly paid for the HALF pie because I was starving given the hour and a half wait. When I picked up the slices they were cold and literally crumbled- basically disintegrated. I called the restaurant asking for my money back and was told that the owner was in the process of reprimanding some of the staff and that she would call me back. I called again....still have never had a return call. I took the HALF pie and threw it down the chute and cooked myself some pasta. What a joke.
- Cons: EVERYTHING
Yum!

This pizza is so delicious! I love the fresh, healthy ingredients. I have eaten in-restuarant a few times, and ordered delivery for the first time recently. I was a little nervous about delivery (past experience with pizza delivery is that it is never as good at home - i.e.: crust can get soggy). However, I was so pleased with the pizza that was delivered - it was hot and the crust was very crisp and delicious. I love this place!!
The anti-pizza in every way
by flexivore
Only went here once, I'm an expert on their menu/food because I spent 10 minutes as the only person in line and all I had to do was read the menu over and over again and watch the guy make pizza. I waited another 8 minutes for the slice. Its like they took the whole anti-pizza thing too far by not having one of the most important draws of a traditional pizza joint: a quick bite. 25 minutes for one slice? I'll take my chances with processed ingredients. Spring special with honey whole wheat crust with hummus tomatos and onions was almost good enough to make up for the frustration of waiting.
Order a pie ahead of time, it IS worth the price. Unless you're not in a hurry, then sit down and watch the excitement fade from peoples' hungry faces as they realize they're in for the long haul.
- Pros: Fresh ingredients, vegetarian options
- Cons: service (lack of), $$
