sweet little lunch spot
by vegmonky at Citysearch
I'm vegetarian so this was a fun little discovery. I came here with a friend during lunch and food was good. I wasn't amazed by it so I'm not dying to return for their dinner menu but it was good for lunch. It's a bit on the pricier side if you're used to spending less the $9 on your lunch but it's a nice treat once in a while. Service was prompt also, no complaints about that.
- Pros: good quality food
Non inspiring veggie food
by acetrader at Citysearch
I don't know why everyone is giving 4 to 5 stars for this restaurant. The food is ok, non-inspiring, if sometimes a bit too greasy. I had the seitan in the brown sauce, deep fried mushrooms, and some soy cutlets also in the same brown sauce. Overall, quite a big disapointment after reading the reviews and going. In my opinion, I could have gotten much better Chinese vegetarian food at Buddha Bodai in China Town.
- Pros: cheap, MSG goodness, very spicy & salty
- Cons: dirty, no service, food uninspiring
Best Pan-Asian Vegan Vegetarian Restaurant in NYC

The food is awesome & amazing. Highly recommanded. Especailly the drinks! Homemake Gingerale! Who would ever thought of a homemake drinks! The food sizes portion were large enough to share, and everything ordered was delicious. Then the music was way too loud. The whole time I could barely hear my friend. Strongly recommanded!
- Pros: Food was excellent!
- Cons: Music is way too loud!
WORST service in ALL of NYC
by HilaryOUS at Citysearch
Wild Ginger has been one of my favorite places to order from for the past 2 years. Unfortunately, the service has seriously deteriorated. The past 3 times I've ordered I received the incorrect items and am FALSELY promised a credit. On the last occasion more money was even charged after paying an additional amount for the wrong menu item. At this point I had to throw away the menus.
- Cons: horrendous
Totally awesome!

I so love this place. I go to the Wild Ginger on Broome for lunch a lot: it is affordable- you get an entire meal for a good price- it's very tasty- interesting- flavorful- vegetarian- healthy- and they actually bring the food pretty quickly. amazing teas, very friendly staff. I also order take-out very often and that too is very quick. The decor of the place is very beautiful and a nice relaxing place in the middle of the hectic crazy outside.
- Pros: Very tasy, affordable, lovely decor, quick...
- Cons: can't think of any!
Surprising combinations, wonderful service

A sake mojito? Strange I know, but it proved lovely. The rest of the meal was equally exotic -- and lovely. I had the mango/seitan stir fry, a zestful mingling of flavors. The miso was very flavorful, none of that blah salty stuff you often get. The owner was very nice and the raitan decor was nice. Only cost my girlfriend and I $50. We had a nice chat, which to me says it's romantic! Heartily recommended. Visited late on a Wed, don't know what earlier or weekends are like.
- Pros: Good and intriguingly prepared food, great service
Great Vegetarian!

This was the first restaurant went to when I moved to New York. On stumbled upon the humble restaurant while exploring Little Italy and Noho. What a great discovery! It was a very quiet and dimly lit place, with patrons made up of hipster locals. The menu had lots of options for vegetarians and for those who weren't neccessarily veggie, but wanted healthy options. I had a tofu stirfry (rarely do those taste good) but Wild Ginger made it taste perfect. The price was just right as well.
- Pros: lovely ambience, food, etc.
- Cons: nothing?
The secret is out

I'm afraid after this posting that I will have to wait long to get in the next time I go. But congrats are due. My one friend is a vegetarian and I stumble on this place and decided to dine with some friends(nonvegan, nonvegetarian) here. We all agree that this place was full of flavor. I love vegetarian food even though I'm not one. But our one guy friend who is a meat lover, was skeptical at first but he LOVED this place. The entree taste like the real thing. The pepper "steak" dish was so good. Then there was the general tsao "chicken". Are you sure this is not real meat?? WOW awesome. We all agree this is the best we've had in a vegan/vegetarian restaurant. Homemade gingerale was good, but don't get the mango drink, not good at all(actually funny tasting) Service was excellent, so enjoy a vegetarian meal.
- Pros: oh everything
- Cons: mango drink taste funny
Neat Find!!

As a vegan, trekking through the San Genaro Feast with my non-vegan parents, I was so so so happy to find this gem!!! The decor is quite tranquil. The menu is well-chosen. The food was outstanding, though a few dishes were a bit greasy. I would definitely trek to eat here again!
- Pros: nice decor, decent mock meats
- Cons: ditsy waitress, greasy
Excellent
