They will kick you out after you pay the bill
by dagmara
The food came 5 minutes after we ordered it. Sangria didn't have any fruits in it! After we eat and paid the bill we were nicely asked to leave the place because the policy doesn't allow its guests to stay by the table after the meal is gone and the bill is paid. If you don't want to be kicked out better avoid this place.
An Amazing Experience
by cvacc00
I usually would never go out of my way to write a review for a restaurant; but after going to Whym, I had to share my experience with those looking for an excellent balance between delicious food, stunning ambience, excellent customer service, and decent prices. First off, our server for the evening was this chap named Jimmy. Jimmy welcomes you and guides you through the dinner quite brilliantly in his own way e.g. striking up small conversations from time to time, casually offering his own take on menu items, and giving the customer space while maintaining a connection with said customer. As for the food, I started with the calamari appetizer which featured crisp, fried calamari served with a sweet chili sauce. I then moved on to the sirloin burger with a side of their fabulous mac and cheese. I barely had enough room to fit it all, but the wonderful textures, aromas, and richness pushed me to forge on. I have to say I was extremely pleased by this dinner, and it only came to around $30 with a few modifications. I will certainly be eating here more often. And thanks to Jimmy et co, it will hold a special place in my heart.
Great Pre Theater Dinner
by asfoodie
Went to Whym for pre theater dinner the other night and forgot to make a reservation. The restaurant was very busy and the manager Anthony was very welcoming and found us a table after a quick coctail at the bar.
We have been to Whym before but never wrote a review.
The food is fantastic and reasonably priced. Had 3 of their new Buddha's Hand Cocktails...incredable!
Do not go without having the smore'swich...make sure you share it. Love, love, love Whym and its staff.
- Pros: Friendly Staff
- Cons: Popular
GREAT EXPERIENCE!!
by csteineker
I went to Whym with my girlfriends and we had a fabulous experience! The service was AMAZING and the people surprisingly nicer than most restaurants. All of our entrees were super delicious and I can't wait to go back and try more. Really the only negative I guess would be that it was a little crowded but then again we went on a Friday night. The host was extremely nice and accomodating so we did not mind waiting a couple of minutes. Definitely would recommend my friends to check it out.
Great dining experience had by all!

Whym is one of my favorite restaurants in the City! My friends and I had a wonderful dinner there just the other night, and I would recommend it to anyone and everyone I know. I have started ordering delivery from Whym to my office, and all my colleagues keep stealing my delivery menu. Please check it out if you have not done so already!!
- Pros: Solid service and delicious food
- Cons: (none)
bad price & greedy company
by TammyJ713
my office is nearby, so i order nearly eveyday. please someone, suggest something else!! the food is OK, but the prices are expensive. after taxes and tip, a lunch salad is nearly $20. and then they have the nerve to ask if i'd like utensils. uhm, yes, for $20, i'd like a fork please. today i requested a knife and i still only get a fork. when i substitue a salad (which is ONLY greens) in place of chips with a sandwhich, they charge an extra $2, but when i request a salad with NO chicken, they deduct absolutely nothing. when asked about the descrepansy, they say salad greens ABSOLUTELY cost more than potato chips. (on what planet??) and that they have no power to minus charges. a nice thank you for spending perhaps $400 a month there. like a said, can somone PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE suggest another place nearby??
Bigger and Better

Stopped in the other night for a quick bite and was surprised to see that they expanded! The restaurant is is nearly double in size and looks great. Food and service were amazing as always.
- Pros: Excellent food, great service, fabulous new space
Take a date! (make it a Monday - Wednesday though)
by 310phelps
I don't typically write reviews, but when I came home the other night from Wyhm, I swore I would, do to the exceptional expereince I had on Monday night. The decor is beautiful, modern and sleek without being too stuffy. The food was excellent! I had the duck and it was to die for (medium rare). The server made the expereince by far. He was very well spoken, smiling, perfect with timing and service cues, and an overall charming person. The back waiter and bus person were also very nice throughout he meal.
I hear this place goes nuts on Thursdays - Saturdays, but I went on Monday and it was perfect. So, if you are looking to impress a date, take a work collegue, or take the folks out to a cool, swanky mid-town spot, skip the dirty Bowery / LES area and head to 59th street to Whym! Love it!
- Pros: intimate, sleek and modern feel, cool, great food, service
- Cons: party's of 8 or more would probably have to sit on the sidewalk
wonderful place
by dustikrol
What a wonderful place. I went here not knowing what to expect, but always curious . I loved the decor. Very romantic. Excellent service. Every course was delicious. The most memorable part was the dessert. I had the warm chocolate cake - AMAZING. I still talk about that dessert. I have been to several "fine dining" restaurants in this city, and thus far this one is my favorite.
- Pros: food,service,desert
- Cons: none
I would go back again
by jwaters77
why am i even writing a review for this place? Everyone knows the Whym is sexcellent and glorious all at the same time! I went for the first time for my birthday dinner and although the wait for our appetizer was long, I had good people and good conversation to sustain me. They also sent out some complimentary amuse bouches to tide our hunger. Our server was excellent and knowledgeable. I have nothing bad to say about the place and would go back again in a heartbeat!!!
- Pros: food,ambiance
