Great Lunch / Ok Service

by minipouce13

The lunch here is perfect if you are a college student with a budget. I have been here a few times mainly for lunch and fell in love with the Salmon served with Mango!!! Very tasty.

The decor very elegant, love the leather chairs super comfortable.

Service needs to be refined and the owners need not to be so pretentious, when guests are entering their restaurant.

  • Pros: Lunch Prices, decor
  • Cons: service

BAD SERVICE/ BAD MEAT

by ArgentineanNewYorker

I went w/ my husband and a couple for my birthday. We had reservations but had to wait at the bar for about 20 minutes. The meat was not good- very tough. The restaurant is very pretty but the service was horrible. The waiter seemed to be "high"!!We spent around $300 and would not recommend this restaurant to anybody. I'm argentinean and my friends and husband are American, they were not impressed. My husband and I have traveled to Argentina and he knows what good Argentinean food is. Very disappointing-

  • Pros: Nice decor
  • Cons: horrible service/ tough meat

Best Meat in NYC!

by veruska777

I'm from Argentina and live in NYC, I know all the Argentinean Restaurants and they are all quite good, but IA is the best. Not only the food is great, but the decoration is very nice, and reflects better than any other our good taste not only for food but for everything related to life quality.

I recommend, if is your first time the "Parrillada" for two.

With that you're trying a sample of everything and is very very well done.

The mashed potatoes are the BEST! and the only thing I would put a little energy if I were the owners, is to make a little better the organization of the waiters. Is not bad, but it can be perfect! and You deserve it to be perfect.!!

Best

Bad service

by rovide

I want to this restaurant twice, the first time the food was ok, great mash potato.

What I found disturbing is that they have a big black french poodle dog inside the restaurant.

The second time time I went there I was waiting for my boyfriend and I ordered two skirt steaks, because we were on a rush. When the food got there only my food arrived, the waiter said that he only brout my food because he thought I wanted mine first. So my boyfriend ended up waiting for his food for around 15 more minutes.

When the server was in another table he starting scratching his butt, which was disgusting.

And the worst was that we saw again the huge dog inside the restaurant, I think they keep him in the basement.

Never going back

  • Pros: good mash potato, nice atmoshphere
  • Cons: everything else, and the restaurant's pet

A great find on Greenwich Street

by punky21

Six of us made a last minute reservation in the morning for Saturday night. There is limited outdoor seating, which is nice on a summer evening. BUT... I suggest you sit inside because the ambience is a wonderful touch to the whole experience.

The restaurant was very dimly lit but carefully placed lighting around the space made it feel just right. Our waitress was always smiling and recommended some traditional dishes for us to try (because it was our visit). The octopus appetizer was delicious and not chewy (as octopus often is). The empenadas are a traditional dish, which were also very yummy.

The fish, short ribs and rib-eye were all absolutely mouth watering.

I recommend this place... a bit pricey though.

  • Pros: ambience, delicious food
  • Cons: pricey

Worst lunch ever!

by expectsdecentservice

I live nearby and had wondered about this place for a while. I met up with a friend for lunch and since it didn't look too busy we decided to try it out. BIG MISTAKE! We ordered cokes and water since none was given to us when we sat down. We got the cokes but were not served water until the meal was almost over. Also, everyone else was served a basket of bread. Not us! We just sat there for a lot longer than it should have taken to make the sandwiches we were served. We both ordered the same thing. Filet Mignon sandwiches. What we got was a tough skirt steak sandwich. The fries were pretty good.

Amazing Private Party Place

by coronanyc

I had a party in IA's private wine cellar on Sunday for 15 people for a birthday dinner and it was amazing. The room was beautiful and very private (check out the picture's on their website), the service was impeccable, and the food was great. They were extremely accommodating and I can't wait to have another party there.

Delicious meat! Nice ambience

by pickyb

Walked into this place whil walking around the neighborhood. We were promptly seated. I do agree with other reviewers that the service is a bit slow, part of me feels like that is good, because they let you enjoy yourself and take your time, another part wishes they had been more attentive. I ordered the filet mignon, which was delicious and had great sides. The mashes potatoes were great. My 2 friends shared the meat platter and enjoyed that as well. A little pricey but well worth the steak.

  • Pros: Ambience, Steak
  • Cons: Don't go if you're in a rush

Argentine pride shines at airy eatery south of Canal.

by Kathleen Squires

In Short
"Product of Argentina" is what the name proudly translates to, and duly so. Argentine-made furniture outfits the airy room and the Buenos Aires-bred chefs offer a distinctly South American menu, with more than the usual cow carnage. Along with four grass-fed cuts from the grill, options include smoked pumpkin risotto, baked monkfish and Patagonian rack of lamb. Other offerings include meat, corn or goat cheese empanadas and, of course, dulce de leche.
