Good Coffee

Good yummy espresso. I used to be a barrista and thought it as good in there. Nice thick crema ontop of the americano. $2.50- can't argue with that. The lady that served us was really friendly.
Shame there were just wooden stools to sit and nothing abit more comfy.
....The thing about espresso to go is because the crema on top breaks down in about 60 seconds and then it's 'ruined' and starts going bitter. weird they didn't do it to go though.
East Village Coffee with a West Village Attitude
by kjhkjh
dropped by with my honey after some savory gruppo pizza couple of days ago...we were in a bit of a rush so she ordered the macchiato, I the espresso. Asked for it to go and was given an unwarranted nasty lecture by the ill mannered post-pubescent coffee jerker as to why they don't serve espresso to go because it goes bad or some stuff. News to me, as I've been everywhere and sampled espressos from all over the world and have without fail had them to go upon request. that and....Hello--I'm the customer and I am in a rush and will take my chances. All this, and they clearly have espresso sized cups to go. also, it is clearly a coffee shop with light food, not a restaurant. Not sure if this chick was on meth or something or just mad at the world but we said screw that place and we walked back down to a much friendlier coffee shop on 3rd and C next to moon pie where they of course serve espresso to go. Also, you can get espresso for $1.00 at the puerto rican shop on C.
Folks, this is the east village NOT the west village. Lose the tude or reeducate your workers. Shame this nabe is copping tudes...
- Pros: Hot customers
- Cons: Attitudinal unsightly coffee jerkers

Alphabet City coffeeshop serves patries from Balthazar and top-notch espressos in a cozy, tin ceiling environment.
