I finally just finished the long and grueling interview process and thanks to The Harper Group I found my dream job. I must have applied to dozens of agencies before I found The Harper Group. When I went to their office I received so much personal attention. Each time I visited, I was the only person in there. They gave me a great prep session before my interviews and even followed up after each one. I loved that each time I called their office they knew who was calling and what I was calling about. They were always one step ahead of my thoughts. I can not believe that there are bad comments on here about The Harper Group. Jill and Jean are wonderful and very courteous. I think that job hunters have to remember one thing: staffing agencies are working for the company they are representing. Their job is to find the best match for the company; so if they don’t call you right away it's probably because they don’t have a match for you currently but given some time a new job may arise that does fit your qualifications and that is when they will call. Jill and Jean did not give up until they found the right match for me. The Harper Group is the only agency that only showed me jobs I asked for. Other agencies push jobs in the financial industry even if you say anything BUT finance. Jill and Jean knew what I was looking for and only presented me jobs in that area. They were great and I am sad that I will not be working with them anymore. I would like to recommend them highly. They will not give up!!
Pros: Determined, persistant and absolutly wonderful ladies!
Cons: I have nothing bad to say!!!

I just moved to the New York City area and was lost and frustrated, looking for a job and just about ready to settle for anything. I decided to give the internet one last try, and while on my quest for this job I came across The Harper Group on the internet and decided to give them a call. Instantly I was set up with an interview with Jill. When I got there for my interview, not only did I find their office to be welcoming in its style, but I found Jill and Jean to be warm, excited to get me started, and extremely professional!!! They made me feel so comfortable in their presence and they had exceptional knowledge of the industry. I knew right away this was the place that I felt I could trust in helping me with my job quest. Jill worked with me one on one preparing me for what the job market had to offer and listened to what I was looking for out of a job. She instantly set me up with an interview with a company that is not only offering me a job, but a company I feel like I can grow with!! I am so excited that I have finally found a job in my career path and owe it to Jill! Thank you Jill and Jean at The Harper Group, you guys are the best!!!

It always amazes me how people take the liberty to bad mouth businesses without thinking about the ramifications. It also is amazing to me that The Harper Group's worst reviews, with the exception of one, are from people who have never been there. I've been around and around the agency circuit so many times that I'm dizzy. I've been used, abused and beaten up by strongarmed counselors wanting me to go on jobs that I was not even interested in. Finally I found Jill and Jean. They are not only the ultimate professionals, but genuine, caring people. They treated me in a manner that I had yet to find anywhere else...like a person. I had three interviews and then ultimately a great job in three days. These ladies are fantastic at what they do. Take a good look at these reviews. The people who have met Jean and Jill rave. Those who have not are not only inarticulate, but have not had the good fortune that I did.
Pros: Caring, Sincere, Kind...Have the Jobs they Advertise For
Cons: Absolutely, positively none!

When I called about a job Jill acted like she did not have time for my questions. If you are going to be working with the public then you need excellent customer service skills. Jill tells me to email her my resume and when I confirmed the email address she made me feel like I was getting on her nervous. She made me feel like I was a burden on her. Jean on the other hand was helpful. Jill get it together. You are working with the public so sharpen up your customer service skills. I do understand sometimes you may be in a rush but remember the impression you give to people. I don't know who you are but my impression of you is not so great. You have to be a good person. Your running a company in New York and have the opportunity to bless people with jobs. I always take this attitude at my job: Treat everyone fair, never have an attitude with the customer, remember customers don't know what I am going through or have to do, keep a beautiful smile, and always do my best for everyone.
Pros: Jill did say email her and she will see what she can do
Cons: Made me feel like I was not worth her time

I think the Harper Group is basically like all of the other agencies out there. They sound very excited to meet you and set you up for an interview and when it comes they tell you the market is slow. I just wish someone would tell me why have so many people come in to meet for 5minutes when you don't have a position available. The screening process can be done over the phone. What agencies fail to realize that the more of these "interviews" you go on and nothing comes out of it, your enthusiasm for the interview process not to mention your confidence level starts to diminish. I will keep calling the Harper Group. That's what Jill asked me almost daily and maybe today might be the day she actually has some news for me.
Pros: She had me in & out of there so quickly since I was on my lunch hour.
Cons: She had me in & out so quickly how could she have possibly gotten a good impression of me.

I would definitely recommend going to Jean and Jill at The Harper Group! Within two days of meeting with them, I was out doing temporary assignments and they were working on finding me a permanent position. Harper is a very intimate employment agency which allows a more personal relationship to develop and that leads to them finding jobs well-suited to the individual. The interviews they got for me were at top-notch companies and for positions that were perfect for me. I am very excited about my new job and company and have Jean and Jill to thank for it.

As a complement to my previous [dissatisfied] review, and to be fair, I would like to point out how The Harper Group followed up on my previous posting with courtesy and professionalism, which I have greatly appreciated. Thank you.
Pros: Professional also when dissatisfaction occurs and turn around in service

Anytime I come across someone that is looking for a job I will refer them to the Harper Group. They are amazing. I am so happy I came across them. They are very easy to get along with and so you feel comfortable being honest about what you're looking for and you really feel like they're on your side. I really can't write enough good things about them. If you are responsible, reliable and serious about working, it will be a perfect fit.

Although I see how it is annoying to some when they dont get feedback from the Harper Group, as someone who is temping for Harper I need to defend them and say that these women have a wonderful reputation that they need to uphold. I am at my second temp stint with them and both companies I've worked for are internationally and nationally recognized and well known companies who simply wouldn't tolerate a lackluster performace from even their temp employees. Jean and Jill would not be able to provide their temps with such valuable opportunities if they called back or worked with anyone who forwarded them his/her resume. Jean and Jill genuinely care about the wellbeing of their temps and the employers they work with. Long term temps are frequently hired after their temp tenure is up and short term temps are given the opportunity to earn money with little commitment at good companies. Jean and Jill give great advice and even a holiday gift to their temps! I couldn't be more appreciative. In other words, The Harper Group is a lifesaver!
