I think the Harper Group is basically like all of the other agencies out there. They sound very excited to meet you and set you up for an interview and when it comes they tell you the market is slow. I just wish someone would tell me why have so many people come in to meet for 5minutes when you don't have a position available. The screening process can be done over the phone. What agencies fail to realize that the more of these "interviews" you go on and nothing comes out of it, your enthusiasm for the interview process not to mention your confidence level starts to diminish. I will keep calling the Harper Group. That's what Jill asked me almost daily and maybe today might be the day she actually has some news for me.

Pros: She had me in & out of there so quickly since I was on my lunch hour.

Cons: She had me in & out so quickly how could she have possibly gotten a good impression of me.

for those of you reading this I think you'll find that my responses are generally not quite like this. I certainly remember you and the reason I had you "in and out" so quickly is because you told me that you were on your lunch hour. I could have spent hours with you and wasted your time, but chose to be considerate. I asked you to call me everyday because I wanted to work with you. Often we tell you about a job and then have to send your resume. From there it is the client's choice whether or not to meet with you. If I did not get a "good impression" of you then it was because you chose not to offer one. Please do not call me everyday. Why would I want to work with someone who is so disgruntled with my agency? As a follow up this candidate called me and I offered to help her as she said that she wasn't getting anywhere with agencies.
