No pain..Only Gain!

OMG! I could never imagine how much contacts or glasses could be such a pain. I work for Ford as a model and having to do photo shoots without glasses or other contacts which does not have my prescription is not a fair deal.
Walking on the runway without my contacts? can you imagine...i am lucky that i havent tripped over anything or bumped into anyone on the runway. Because I have been doing this for such a long time I can hold myself up to it. But now I am getting sick and tired of it. Not allowed to take certain things on the plane like my eye drops and so on and so forth which can be nerve racking. Sleeping on the plane waking up with dry eyes and not having anything on you to make it better is frustrating as well. So I decided to put this all to an end. Luckily I found the Manhattan Lasik Center when I was just surfing the net.
Being such a pris. I am very picky and choosy of who I trust and who I like. I have been to other consultations I realized I was much more comfortable to with this center. I was acknowledged I was heard by the doctors and this is what I was really and initially looking for. I was also very nervous for the procedure... but at the end of it all, it came out to be just fine. Most of the places I went for consultations did not really appeal to me, it seemed like I was not a priority. Which I definitely don’t agree to.
When I came here I liked the atmosphere. Everyone was nice and polite. My goal was to get my eyes fixed as I was getting tired of having to wear contacts and glasses all the time. People would complain saying how come you don’t say hey when you passing by now a days. Imagine passing by someone who has offered you a photo shoot and not even being polite and saying hello to them...? OMG! They would think i was such a snob.....=( My eyes were just getting worse day to day. But overall when I came here I was very satisfied. The surgery itself was easy no pain at all which was the BEST part out of all because like i said i am a chicken..
I am now a free bird I don’t have to worry about anything anymore. And I see everyone who is passing by and never miss a hello or a hi! I would like to thank the doctors and the team for helping me.
Worth the wait! =)

So I am guessing this coming New Year should be just great for me. Going back to work after the holidays is going to be crazy for me. As I now have new vision! No glasses or contacts. I have been waiting for this for years. I have lived in Dubai (UAE) basically all my life. As a stewardess, I have traveled all over the world. One thing always annoyed me was my glasses and contacts. Mostly my contacts. The hassle of having them on all day and night on the flight, take them off if I have to take a nap, put them back on if I need to get back to work. And if I decide to swim, forget about it! I am completely BLIND! Having a prescription of -8.25 with astigmatism is not a joke.
I went to many doctors in Dubai. I have wanted to do Lasik for a very long time. Unfortunately I never got the opportunity to do so. Number one it was the price I was being charged in Dubai, it was just ridiculous. Although we have great doctors in Dubai but it was just something I couldn’t afford. Then I came to NYC. As this city is basically my second home. I come here as often as every 3 months.
Couple of my friends got their lasik done over here at this Lasik Center. As we went to dinner and got to talking about it. It was just a coincidence that they all got their surgery done from the Manhattan Lasik Center. As I was on vacation and going to be here for a while. I decided to go in for a consultation and get the prices for it. After going for a consultation price I was getting for the quality they were offering was just perfect for my budget. It was a great experience.
So without giving it a second thought, i decided to do the surgery at once. I am now very happy with what the new vision. Nice people. Nice doctors and great price! =) I should be returning to work this coming year with a totally great experience I have gone through in my life. It is kind of like a miracle. Couldn’t be any happier. Now that I think back to all those doctors I went to in Dubai. I am glad I didn’t do it then. It was just worth the wait!
As happy as I can be! Thank you!

Hi. My name is Chris. I am a correctional officer at Rikers Island. I was looking into getting lasik done for a very long time. Finally I built up the courage and decided to go for it. At least get some more information about it.
As a correctional officer, my work requires a lot of concentration, it requires watching camera's continuously, searching inmates and sometimes I have to defend my self from getting hurt. It is very inconvenient for me to wear my glasses when I am in the middle of a confrontation or trying to handcuff an inmate. Because when my glasses actually fall off, I am blind and I cannot see anything. Which is why lasik was the best thing I have ever done for myself. And now my wife is on her way to do it too.
I know a few people who have got it done many years ago. The reason I was so skeptical about getting it done was because it’s your eyes that is being played with. It is a serious matter, and I don’t think anyone should go to a facility they do not trust. In my case it was totally opposite. I totally trusted this facility as this facility was most honest with me. And I say this with experience. Also had heard a lot about it. Researching definitely paid off.
Before moving to NYC I had went to a lasik center in CT. And over there I was told that I was a candidate for the surgery and I could do the surgery as soon as possible and everything’s was great. Thank god I had some financial issues that had to be solved before doing the surgery. Then I came to the Manhattan lasik center in 2007 for a free consultation.
The consultation was very through, in fact I got to learn a lot more then what I "thought" I knew. My eyes were checked, had a thorough eye exam and I was also able to meet the doctor who was going to perform the surgery. And obviously just had to ask a billion questions before even touching my eyes. During the consultation I was told that I was not a candidate for the surgery and I would not be one may be for a couple more years. I was told my eyes were still changing. Then I returned after 2 years to check and see if my eyes were okay to do the surgery. And thank god....they were.
Which is why I choose to do it with this center. If they wanted they could have told me the same thing I was told in CT. and I would have believed it. How could have I known if I am a candidate or not. That’s when it got a little easier, as I could undoubtedly trust this center. Being honest paid off to them and I as they got my business and I got a perfect vision. I am now as happy as I can be. I don’t have to worry about glasses. If I have to hand cuff an inmate it’s done...no disturbance!! =)
- Pros: Perfect vision
- Cons: N/A =)
Vision Fixed, Service not that great.

I found most of the staff at times a bit pushy. While my eyes were corrected, I found the overall experience to be unpleasant. I did not feel that my concerns were addressed and when I called with questions after my surgery the staff became very short with me. I had very long wait times just about every time I visited his office. I expected a bit more especially considering the price I paid.
- Pros: vision was corrected
- Cons: staff, wait times
Lasik is SCARY

The more I read about Lasik on-line, the more concerned I've become about either having the procedure or recommending it to family members. How do I know that Dr. Niksarli is any better?
Much CLEAR!!!

Hello reviewers! My name is Nina Ramos. I had my surgery done a month ago from this Lasik Center. I was treated by Dr. Niksarli. I also met with the other doctors who were equally as good. Dr. Niksarli was a great doctor to me atleast....he served me well and helped me during my Panic Attacks. lol
I went in for a consultation thinking im never going to get my surgery...as i was too scared to even think about it...but i was always curious to know more about it. Well i would say i was more curious to know IF I WAS A CANDIDATE for the surgery or no! it came out to be that i was and i was relieved....because i always thought you cannot get the surgery done if you have a very high prescription...Apparently i was wrong!
After my consultation i still had not made my mind up for the surgery. I was still not sure as i was just too nervous to go thru with it. But then i received a call from that center a couple of weeks ago asking me if i was still interested. I gues that payed them well..because right then i came to a conclusion that i WILL do the surgery no matter what!
I called them back and set up my appointment for the surgery. AND NOW! here i am using the computer with no problems.....reading as many books as i want....swiming under water.....playing sports....without having to worry about my contacts and glasses.
I would say this is absolutely the best thing i have ever done for myself. i am enjoying it throughly and i thank the Manhattan Lasik Center for it!
Thank you very much
Awesome!

Just went for a consult here 2 weeks ago (thus the five stars because I got the surgery there last week). It have been to many consults but this was my first consult on the way to lasik surgery which really got my attention and I have to say it was a pretty good experience.
I went in prepared to wait an hour like most doc offices, but was almost immediately brought in for the eye exam. I spoke with two of the other doctors. Especially Dr. Niksarli was great! Others were awesome as well....as they gave me the eye exam. They were very friendly, very informative and they all seemed to know what they were doing.
Dr. Niksarli, himself, was also very friendly and helpful and he explained the procedure in detail and answered all my questions. He was very honest and actually suggested why I should do a certain procedure and why....because there was a procedure that I had heard of by word of mouth and some people I know who had got it done was really easy and perfected my vision completely but the doctor explained to me why I should or should not get that particular procedure as it will increase some risks because my vision was soo horrible. Plus with this I was totally saving me some money =) (which is an odd thing for the person getting my money to suggest).
After meeting with him, I met with the equally well informed financial guy, who told me about a number of financing plans and etc. The cost is about between $2000-$3000 (this includes two years of check ups and any adjustments that might need to be made). This is a exactly what I had in mind spend.
Then obviously I went ahead and booked the day of my surgery and here I am very happy. I cannot even tell you how impressed I am, this place seemed very efficient, very friendly and comfortable. I would say at the very lease go in for a free consult and see if you like it. I mean what do you really have to loose?
Nothing but maybe an hour. But it will definitely be am experience of a life time if you were to get this surgery done! I recommend it to everyone!
great experience

I had my eyes treated by Dr. Kevin Niksarli couple months ago. I can see better than 20/20 now. It was the best decision I made. His staff is very knowledgeable and professional, as well as nice. I was nervous at first. But Dr. Niksarli's great attitude and confidence put me at ease. I am so glad I followed my friend's advice and went to Manhattan Lasik Center for my procedure. I am telling about this place to all my friends who wear glasses and contacts. Thank you all for the great work!
great place for LASER surgery

iPhone vs. Lasik vs. iPhone vs. Lasik vs. iPhone vs. Lasik .............I met someone one day shopping for a iphone and Lasik came up, he had lasik with Dr. Niksarli. After that it was my mission to get Lasik.
So it was between Lasik and the new Apple G3 s iPhone, so I decided to get Lasik with Manhattan Lasik Center. My mom told me to go to 3 places b4 deciding. I just did a quick search google review and made 3 appointments to different places I felt I should visit before making my mind. I'm really glad I picked Manhattan Lasik. I'm not going to go through all the great things everyone keeps raving about them but it is true. They really make your experience memorable. It was the best place out of the three that I went to. After the Laser, I went home to sleep for 8 hrs. I woke up and Damnnnnng!!!! I CAN SEEEEE! It really works..I smacked myself 3 times to make sure I wasn't dreaming. Overall I'm really happy with them and figure since they went the extra mile with me and my procedure, I'll share my wonderful experience here.
The best part of the experience is after the lasik check up, I was walking on 5th ave with happy eyes...long and behold a apple store! So spur of the moment purchased the new G3 s iPhone. I was in such a great mood, I baught it. Been playing with it for a few hours but that's another review.
- Pros: friendly staff and nice environment
- Cons: none at all
New Year, New Eyes, New Life!
by XrayVision at Citysearch
So I made up my 2009 new years resolution to get rid of my dorky glasses and decided from all the laser centers to go to Manhattan Lasik Center. WHY? Because in this economy, they were the best deal I found after going to a million places! What a feeling I now have?20/15 yes baby!!!!!!I wish I had done it sooner!!!!
I just wanted to share my experience here.(After going to 5 other places in the tri-state area?..yes I know but it?s my eyes ) Anywayz, It?s a nice place with a great staff, very friendly. Dr Niksarli was right on the money, not only did he educate me on the differences between all the technologies, He actually decided after a million testing, scans, maps etc that iLasik was the best technology for me! I got a chance to talk to a ton of happy patients who was there for their follow up care. They also hooked me up with 0% financing and the best part was the small dog they give you during the surgery. It really helped but I wasn?t that scared because Dr Niksarli guided me throughout the whole procedure.
So my advice to anyone who wants Lasik during this economic time? RUN!!! don't walk to Manhattan Lasik Center...They are the best Value!
- Pros: Great Price and staff is nice. Very Clean and comfortable environment
- Cons: Very Busy. I had to wait extra 15 minutes but so worth it after my 20/15 Vision!
