So I went to Butterfield on a recommendation from a friend for dinner and i honestly had no idea it was a restaurant as well....ive been there for drinks with friends..(great time by the way)...but never for dinner...i must say i was pleasantly surprised. The atmosphere was completely different from its normal wild bar scene. My girlfriend had the Tuna and I had the rib eye...UNREAL! the food was cooked perfectly and the service was great....The waitress was great and really knew what she was doing...To top it off i had the best dessert ive ever had...COOKIE SMASH...my only advice is get it......im so excited that i have a new favorite restaurant.

Pros: Private Dinning room, food, service, COOKIE SMASH

Cons: i cant have dessert anywhere else now...

I went for drinks after work on a Friday, the bar was packed by 6pm and there was a DJ. We managed to get a table in the back which was much quieter and allowed for conversation. The spinach dip and chips was below average. The drinks were good, except one was served with a hair in it and the waitress didn't take it off the bill. This place is ok if you don't mind fighting the crowd and can overlook poor service.

Pros: Good crowd

Cons: Too loud, poor service

All and all- this a great place to enjoy some after work drinks, the bartenders are great and make sure you don’t wait long for a drink (even when it is crowded). I highly advise against getting a table and having waitress service. A couple friends and I did and it was a disaster. To start off, they messed up our order. The real thing that got to me, was when we were brought our bill, we paid it (with cash) and the waitress never came back to collect. We handed it in to her, and an hour after when we were preparing to leave she re printed the bill out and accused us of not paying. It was a big mess, and to avoid any fights we paid the bill again. That was completely unacceptable!!!

Pros: Bartenders

Cons: Waitresses

My company was having a happy hour in the private room in the back. My girlfriends and I got there early and had dinner first in the bar area. Our server was very nice and promt considering the bar area started to get an inflow of happy hour customers. When our happy hour started we had out own private bar in the back with a bartender that not only was extreamly nice but also remebered my drink order! We love this place and can't wait to come back!

Butterfield 8 (see website) currently offers a deal so that if it is your birthday, your dinner and a drink are complimentary if you go with a group. Butterfield 8 also offers great party deals with open bar discounts, which I didn't take advantage of! The place was totally packed at 7:00 when we arrived for our dinner reservation, and we felt important being escorted by the hostess throught the crowd. Based on a virtual tour I'd seen on the site, I was given the booth/table I had requested in the back. The food was amazing, with great comfort foods, and a little flair to other comfort foods to give it a classy look on some dishes. I had a fabulous skirt steak, while my friends opted for wraps and sandwiches, but everyone loved their food and had a great time. I would recommend going here, especially for a birthday, when you eat for free! The service I got in the week before my birthday was impeccable and courteous, and the wait staff was also very nice. I'd return here for both the happy hour or a dinner! I shall be reocmmending Butterfield 8 to all my friends for their birthdays and hope to return soon! Remember to sign up for the BU 8 Club to enjoy the birthday treatment!

Pros: Food, deals, great drinks

Cons: Crowd (if that's a bad thing, really)

Great place to catch football on Saturdays, Sundays and Monday nights. Awesome special of $25 for unlimited beer and wings Sat & Sun. Where else can you get a deal like this?!? Great place for a private party - Check out their new bottle service. This place really knows how to hook it up. Hottest women around especially the staff. The dj is phenominal and has everything. Great place to go.

Pros: Private Parties and Bottle Service

The front of this place is crowded and noisy with a crowd who looked newly recruited from every Greek letter in the the fratbook. It was a little better in the back room, though the jocks were there too. Also there, however, was Jesse, our wonderful waitress. She accommodated our (almost) every desire, and was very tolerant of our obnoxiousness. She even wrote about us (see below) The kitchen closes early (10PM!) so order early. Ai arrived after dinner and our heroic waitress dug up some tasty rolls, but that's all there was. --Drink Club is a group of NYC roving drinkers

Pros: Great Service, friendly staff

Cons: too many jocks, too loud, kitchen closes early

I love this bar and I don't know why! It feels really new, it's bright inside but not annoyingly, and I like the wood decor. And as an added bonus there's the other room in the back. Anyway, I was there last night (Thursday) and the crowd was young, professional, good mix of guys and girls, drink specials were great, and when we left we all fell down...in the street...oops...Oh wait, I remember why I love it- the music was GREAT. Yes, you should go...try not to fall down...

Pros: Music! Drink specials- my guy friend paid $9 for double jack and coke- cheap-o; Hotties

Cons: Falling down; not enough sinks in woman's bathroom

Place is horrible becuase of the waterdowned drinks. Service is rude. The 30 dollar wrist band is a rip off. Bartenders make prices up as they go along. Not recommended at all!

Pros: Don't have one positive thing to say about this place

Cons: You get ripped off! Waterdowned drinks
