Solid Food and Friendly Service
by stefbour
We stop at this restaurant often just for the black ink seafood pasta. Their food is always on point and their staff is helpful with the wine list (italian). In the summer you can sit outside and enjoy Tribeca evenings. They have a frize salad with pear and honey that is dreamy and the salmon is good too.
- Pros: good staff
- Cons: traffic

This family owned business is a well respected Tribeca restaurant, the pasta is amazing and they have a great wine selection. The lasagna is to die for !!! The owners are wonderful, always walking around making sure everyone is happy and feels welcome!
I live in the neighborhood and my friends and I have never had a bad experience, I highly recommend-
- Pros: * Home-made Pasta * Wine Selection *

BAD FOOD & THE WORST SERVICE. RUDE & HOSTILE OWNER!
DO NOT GO HERE!
This place was by far the worst restaurant that I have ever been to in all of NYC. The service was beyond horrible and the seafood was raw. First they brought all of my starter and main dish at the same time, and my single glass of wine about 15 minutes after. When I discovered that my calamari was undercooked, the owner actually placed her finger in my food!!!! And ate at a piece at the table. She then proceeded to tell me that my friend and I were too young to be eating at her restaurant. Even though I?m 27 years old. Afterwards the check was presented to me, without asking if I would like anything else in place of the raw appetizer that I received, or even if I wanted dessert.
After I brought this up, in private out of the dining room, out of respect for the few other couples eating, the owner of the restaurant mind you, told me that good service was when you bring the check while you?re still eating and called me and ?low class drunk? for bringing this to her attention.
As a traditional upscale Italian eatery I would expect them to know that a check is never brought until asked for. And as an American establishment they should also know that the customer is always right, nor do they call the clients names. Next time I?ll take my business to Capri Cafe Megu, Bread, 66, or Dos Caminos where they know how to run a service industry establishment and treat paying customer with respect. As a native New Yorker, who has eaten at most every fine dining restaurant in this city this, is hands down the worst place I?ve ever been. Plus, I didn?t know drinking a glass a wine and being 27 at made you a ?low class drunk?, I don?t think I have been more disrespected in my life. Maybe the owner is the one who should lay off the drinks?.
My recommendation: IF YOU WANT GOOD ITALIAN FOOD GO TO CAPRI CAFE!
- Pros: nothing would ever make me go back here.
- Cons: Raw food, rude service, called me names, pushy
Great food, service & ambience!

We went early (around 7pm on a Sat) and was seated immediately. The waiter provided great and personal service and made excellent food and wine suggestions. The white fish with the lemon sauce was delicious and did not make me sick after (as most fish in restaurants do), the home made pasta was also very delicious. The dessert was amazing... puff pastry with little globs of ice cream and choc sauce - simple and delicious. Overall, great dining experience, convenient and delicious food! Service was very very good, this one's a keeper!
- Pros: Great service, food, wine and the dessert was yummy, friendly neighborhood place
- Cons: None I can think of
