Jen's dedication to clients and to Pilates makes it a joy to work hard! Her new studio is calm & welcoming. The depth of her understanding of Pilates is translated into beautifully constructed classes. As a private student, the delight she shows in my progress continues to inspire me to keep reaching towards the next level.

Pros: inviting environment, calm, focused classes, upbeat

Jen is an expert Pilates instructor who has helped me stop lower-back pain through Pilates exercises to strengthen core muscles and increase flexibility. Trained by Joseph Pilates' disciple, Jen has the skills of a top Pilates instructor. But equally important she is a natural teacher, aware at every moment about how your body is reacting to the exercises. She knows how far to push, and she keeps slowly making things more challenging so that before you know it you can do even the most impossible-looking exercises. When I came to her I was becoming a hunchback, my neck stuck out from my torso, I had back pain and waddled from carrying 20 pounds that dieting and Pilates helped me get rid of. Now I stand straight, walk normally and at 53 have the flexibility I haven't had in 20 years. Jen's studio is as warm and welcoming as she is.

New to the upper east side, this studio is conveniently located on the first floor of a doorman apartment building just off 3rd Avenue. Equipment is new and mat and tower equipment in a separate room from the reformers. The studio is pleasantly decorated and tranquil. The owner/principal instructor Jen, is an excellent personable trainer. Prices are fair and schedules available.

Pros: professional, reasonably priced, available schedules
