Best restaurant bar in town!!!

My husband and I were so amused by this Asian Bartender!! Just got back in town from long trip, were so craving for some nice sushi on last Satuarday night... therefore we decided to go to this gem sushi place in the villege. As we entered the restaurant, was so smittened by this adorable bartender, she looked like a delicated asian doll walking out of a shodow box! I suggested to sit at the bar, Great choice!! We've been a lot of service bars, but this one is perfection! I was so trilled that we ordered a bunch of a la cart and side dishes, the bartender didnt even write down out order but everything came out on time and correctly! Here I gotta appoligize to her that I was questioning about it.

We got the spicy rock shrimp, yellowtail sushimi ap, and scallop carpachio for starters... my husband doesnt like fish roes, before we requested to sub the roes , the bartender bring this up asking us if we like sea urchin or fish roes, cos these two things were inculded. Simple things like this can really show that if the server cares about customers.. we were really impressived by the service that we got from this girl who is not just another pretty face with whitend teeth showing out. I loved the spicy rock shrimp, and my husband fell for its salmon toro.. nigori sake that i got was great but slightly overpriced; my husband's shiso leaf sochu martini was just perfection like everything else! We will go back for the bar for sure! The one thing that I didnt like was the decor and the choice of the dvd playing.. its some jp dvd tape on that night... we couldnt understand it at all.. and they should put more effort on the decor.

bad customer service

by the time you sit at table, you must be frustrated with this notorious manager because of her poor hosting and communication skill. then you probably get mad since you don't get food any time soon. besides sake is insanely overpriced. lastly you should be infuriated when this japanese waman drops off your bill and tries to kick you out of the restaurant. until you are all set, she is waiting right behind you to snatch your check. it is just amazing. if you don't wanna be treated like that, just stay away from the place and walk a few blocks over for takahachi

Pri fix menu is a great deal. great vibe at the bar!

I took my gf for dinner last night, both of us having such great time at the bar. As we came in, asked the bartender if we could watch the debate at 9pm after diner at the table, she had no problem doin the favor for us. We sat at the table for 10min then switched to the bar where was actually more comfortable than the table...The HD TV delivered the debate enfortlessly!

The entree on the pri fix menu, the washu beef was so tender and perfectly seasoned! My gf loved the dessert, and so did I. The wine the bartender suggested was great ,too. Compare with the treatment at the table, we were taken care much better at the bar... those servers never got back to us in time for whatever we asked for...

Excellent sushi

Not enough people know about Le Miu in my opinion. I think this is one of the best unknown sushi spots in town. Top quality, wonderful service, reasonable prices. I would strongly recommend checking this place out!

great food, great bar service, poor hostign manner

My friends and I went there for dinner on a Saturday night, when the whole restaurant was all packed. We made a reservation earlier that day, but the hostess, whoes English was horrible, forgot our reservation! She told us to have a drink at the bar til the table is ready. However, she seated several people who came in after us to tables, and lied to us that those parties had reservations. (we heared clearly that non of them cliamed that they had made reservations). We complained to her, she was just giggling and walked away! She was cluless! As we were about to leave with anger and hunger, the bartender encouraged us to have dinner at the bar. Shes been doin a very good job entertaining us while we were waiting. So my friends and I agreed to eat at the bar, where was actually very cozy and comfortable. She provided very good service, and the food she recomanded was great. We got a sashimi platter and a labster roll, tuna capaccuio, those were all great. And the special coctails , lychee ginger cocktail, were amazing as well.

There is nothing wrong with poor English speakers, however, I expected to be taken care of when I made a reservation and paid $180 for a dinner. The hostess needs to improve her language abd her manner, seriously! She is cluless and has no common sence at all!

good, but not perfect

i took my girlfriend here for her birthday and everything was very good: the food was delicious, beautifully plated, and served by a very friendly * knowledgeable staff however the atmosphere needs serious improvement. while dining there was a couple next two us with two children who, when not screaming, were running back and forth, bumping into our table. additionally there was a girl who sat the bar with a small dog in ehr lap that had no problem barking- the bartender didn't seem to think that this was a problem. as i said, the food an presentation were spectacular , however the surroudings did a serious disservice to the food. when i pay $250 for dinner for 2 i expect not to have my girlfriend's voice drowned out by screaming children and barking dogs...

• Cons: horrible ambience

sushi snobs -- EAT HERE

the food is wonderful, the service is excellent, and very few people know about it. this is what makes new york great. you have a world class selection / chef, etc and since it doesnt look "trendy" or "superficial" inside, there arent a lot of people that go here. its not hip, its just GREAT sushi.

literally when you walk in here, they appreciate the business, 4 people welcome you in to the restaurant, which is a wonderful japanese custom.

wine list is affordable. for the quality (top notch) its the best sushi in town

how long is the wait!

if you crave for sushi, I recommend the place. when me and friends went there on weekend, it was packed. The hostess came up to us and said something, but we didn't understand single word of her English. It took a while for us to get a table but the weird hostess did nothing but smiled at us. one of my friends found her demeanor even obnoxious by the time we got seated. food was okay.

good sushi, cheap saki

The sushi is in fact good, though there are better places in Manhattan, with more variety of rolls and much more affordable. The saki, though, is not only good, but pretty cheap. You can seat at the restaurant and look at people going to Lincoln Center, but it's hard to get a seat before theater.

Excellent Buttery Fish

I wasn't expecting fish this good. Don't have the over-priced rolls just order sushi and sashimi. Prices are on the high side, especially the kobe beef entree. Overall, very good.
