Great Lunch spot

by downeyJr at Citysearch

I went to Vietnam, & Thailand this past winter and fell loved the food. I found some really good Thai spots in the city, but there all over the place. But good authentic Vietnamese food is hard to find here. I think that Pho Grand was great and tasted just like the food I ate in Vietnam. The lunch specials are light on the pockets and the flavor is amazing. They have to use real fresh ingredients because I haven?t had a plate of food this savoring in a while for lunch. The servers there are so nice. You really feel like you are a guest. I swear I never saw so many people smiling. Typical of the Vietnamese to be so friendly and so kind. I really like this place and would recommend it to anyone who traveled to Vietnam or Thailand, and especially to a dear friend in need of a good lunch spot that has decent prices.

  • Pros: Smiling people, Good Food, Great prices
  • Cons: Not enuff Pho Grands around!

This is a staple of my delivery-food repertoire

by maureenuw at Citysearch

Pho Grand has great, inexpensive food. I recommend the rice dishes, specifically the beef with lemongrass or chicken with lemongrass which both ring in at around $5 and are enough for a meal! Usually speedy delivery.

  • Pros: Tasty, cheap food
  • Cons: Occasionally delivery takes a while

Relaxed Vietnamese restaurant efficiently serves classic dishes and plenty of pho.

by Keith Wagstaff at Citysearch

The Scene
This Chinatown restaurant fills with an ethnically mixed crowd of casual locals and chatty families. Wood is everywhere, from the lightly stained walls to the exposed beams and simple wooden tables. Though servers are all smiles, be prepared for a jumbled meal, as appetizers are randomly interspersed among entrees.

The Food
The staples of the menu are the large, refreshing bowls of pho, available in 17 different varieties, matching light broth and rice noodles with items such as grilled pork, brisket, seafood and other options. To start, try the fresh green mussels, gorged with a curry coconut sauce that doesn't overpower the mussels' natural flavor. The entree of succulent shrimp, grilled for a slightly crispy exterior, presents a nice contrast with soft rice stick, lettuce and mint leaves. And each small piece of the sauteed marinated beef cubes bursts with the chef's soy sauce-infused sauce and the meat's natural juices.
