I would not recommend this place to anyone. Each visit (at least 5 just for a pair of contacts) was a drag and felt like a confrontation. I would assume people want to go to a friendly and welcoming place of business especially when discussing something as delicate as the eyes. Instead at Penn Optics theyll get a young, uptight and rude doctor. When I explained that I could not see well with the higher prescription he had given me, he took a a very unsupportive and skeptical demeanor. When I told him I was more comfortable with my acuves he compared it to driving an old car and pushed the newer model. When I finally agreed to the newer model, what does he give me? Acuves. I called up to get the correct lens and in its place got an arrogant and non-negotiable attitude. The wrong pair of contacts were ordered and instead of considering that perhaps a mistake on his part was made or better yet finding a solution to the problem, he proceeded to put words in my mouth. He seemed more concerned with being right then with being helpful. The doctor was rude, condensing, and out of touch. As far as the staff is concerned, they were friendly but never knew what was going on. When asked why each new pair of trials had different prescriptions they could not answer and when I walked away with my contacts they forgot to provide with the prescription on the boxes.

Pros: lets you come back as many times as you want

Cons: Rude, arrogrant and out of touch

Penn Optical is no fancy place...it doesn't take long to realize that they are understaffed. However, I have to say that I had the most pleasant experience with a young lady there named Cassie. She was so professional and charismatic - and although I was completely clueless, she helped me pick out an outstanding pair of frames. The compliments do not stop. If you go there, make SURE to ask for Cassie.

Pros: Skilled store manager

Cons: Need more desginer/chic frames - have some, but could do with more

The staff was pleasant and attentive. I am very picky and take a long time to make decisions about my glasses but everyone at Penn was so patient with me. They have a great selection of frames and had my glasses ready very quickly. I'm sold!

Rarely is professional service, quality of product and attention to detail so evident. Their extensive selection of designer frames is impressive.

I recently went to Penn Optical for glasses, and I have to say the service was second to none. The staff was very helpful and polite. The were there to help me with my every need and answered all my questions. The frame selection that I was shown was also top nothc. They offered me a wide selection of designer frames to choose from. I would recommend Penn Optical to anyone looking for the best in eye glasses in NYC.

I went to Penn Optical the other day and was pleased to receive such a professional, thorough eye exam in the heart of the city. You could not ask for better service and the eyeglass selection was great. From the friendliness of the staff to the efficiency of the service, I was extremely satisfied. I highly recommend Penn Optical to anyone who is looking for a highly professional experience.

I went to Penn Optical on a recommendation from a friend. She was absolutely right, the selection was great, I got a pair of designer frames for less than I had seen them before. I also thought the customer service was amazing - the man in the store spend a long time with me helping me pick out frames that looked best. The store is great, really professional, it's on the second floor of the building-- by penn station.

i would recommend penn optical to anyone. the prices are great, and the selection is huge . i was really impressed by how knowledgeable and friendly the staff were. buying glasses is usually such a hassel for me, but it didn't feel that way at penn!

Penn Optical is the most convenient location close to Penn Station. They have an amazing selection of designer frames like Gucci, Armani and Silhouette and they offer the most professional service around. This is the place I trust to take care of my eyes.
