SPECIAL EVENTS extradorinaire!
by thisiknow08
I just hosted an intimate baby shower at Arium. The selections of teas are undeniably more extensive than the Ritz or any other hotel tea location. The scones, mini sandwiches, quiche, and brownies were tasty with the guest of honor wanting more!! I think the only thing we wanted was more food!! You feel like you're being served in a quiet art gallery with linens and fine china. No detail was overlooked by the staff, even fresh roses and beautiful music details like Josh Groban. I highly recommend this setting for an intimate 15-20 person dinner or tea. Angel is the master at service and you won't be disappointed. It was $38 for grand tea without taxes and gratuity. You won't be disappointed if you're hosting a nice event.
- Pros: Ambience, parking outside, service, selection of teas
- Cons: Need more sandwiches because they are so good
Fancy looking place with subpar service
by chester37a
The service was incomplete.
The place was empty, but some of our party never got served tea. That tells me they have a poor attention span.
The head waiter/manager was condescending to our host, . . .
especially when the prices we were quoted were $10 more than the prices listed in the menu
and our head server seemd like he was trying to pull a fast one.
Gratuity is included in your bill, kind of insulting considering the poor service.
Maybe we caught them when they were having a bad day, but you must be aware of your prices.
The atmosphere was nice.
The art show on display was a nice touch.
we left unhappy overall
- Pros: Nice atmosphere
- Cons: Poor Service
A pathetic disaster

This place has no clue what it is doing. They need to let people sit in the restaurant without employees constantly harassing tables.
Great tea, scones and soup!
by hop1984
This is a wonderful place that serves great teas, delicious scones and phenomenal soups. The service is impeccable and they have traditional proper tea service with mini sandwiches, scones and sweets that is served on a triple tier plate.
The furnishings are elegant and subdued and it's a nice alternative to the hyperactivity of so many other Meatpacking hot spots like Pastis and Spice. They play classical music and have live concerts on weekend nights. The walls are filled with beautiful large paintings that will rotate every few months. The wait staff is well trained and very accommodating. The chef makes all the food on premises including the complimentary post-meal chocolate truffles(!)
Brunch includes blintzes, pancakes, light-as-a-feather french toast and fresh fruit. The tea list is extensive and they have a large wine list by the glass. This is a very special place that is still a bit of a secret. Go now and take a little respite with some great tea and food!
- Pros: Great scones, tea, soups and sandwiches; lovely ambience
- Cons: none
Have to Have Blueberry Blintzes
by craving247
You must visit this wonderful new spot in the Meatpacking District and try the delicious Blintzes. They're out of this world. They also serve the best scones around! Great food and wonderful attentive service in a peaceful atmosphere.
Great tea, great service
by kasey1234567
I agree with the other reviews. Great tea, great service, great atmosphere. I plan on returning to Arium many times. I was, however, sad to learn that scones are not available on the lunch menu--they're available later in the day after lunch.
My new favorite tea place
by babyblue888
Everything from tea selection to service is absolutely fabulous! It is my new favorite tea & lunch place. I would definitely return here.
PERFECT!
by lauramanyap
I have been here for tea almost 5 times now and every time I am awed by the atmosphere and the high quality of the tea and food. It seems like there are a hundred different kinds of tea on the menu (each with its own description!). There are 3 different types of tea courses - a scone one (served with lemon curd, clotted cream, jam & marmalade), a mini sandwich course, and a dessert course. You can get any combination of them. I recommend ALL of them! They are so good.
The space is also beautiful -- airy and serene. I also saw a flyer last time I was there that announced some piano concerts that are coming up. Perfect!
- Pros: huge tea list, fantastic food, great ambience
- Cons: none!
Leisurely afternoons are made for discussion and decadence--which is exactly what this double entendre tea and hair salon is all about.

In Short
A sunny spacious drawing room encourages lounging over royal tea service--equipped with precious antique pots and cups from the owner's private collection. Organic nibbles favor the international: Asian-based soups, smoked chicken and mango salad, spicy ham and manchego sandwich and aromatic lavender scones dolloped with homemade clotted cream and velvety lemon curd. The adjacent, equally posh, hair salon offers full tea service to pass the time while getting a cut and color.
A GREAT EXPERIENCE
by rickinnyc
This is a lovely spot, recently opened in the Meat-Packing District. Open for lunch, serving a very interesting selection of soups, salads and sandwiches. The main reason to go however, is the stunning afternoon tea service. Probably the finest afternoon tea in NYC, with mouthwatering scones, amazing tea sandwiches of all types and unbelievable sweets, and a to-die-for tea list with almost every type of tea available. The service is simply outstanding.
- Pros: amazing tea list, amazing food, great service
