User Reviews for Grimaldi's Pizza

5 Star Rating: Highly Recommended

Grimaldi's Pizza in Garden City is hands down the best in Long Island. The pizza is extremely tasty and you have a variety of toppings to chose from and it cooks in about 5 minutes. The salads are out of this world and everything is extremely fresh. The atmosphere is beautiful with a friendly staff and awesome music. Grimaldi's Pizzeria in Garden City also has a nice size bar and plenty of tvs to watch all the sport games. It is definately for people of all ages and a place where you can bring your kids. Once you eat Grimaldi's pizza I bet you will never be able to eat from your local pizzerias because it really is the best out there. Not only is the food in the restaraunt good but so is their catering menu =)

Pros: Parking Lot in Back, Delicious Pizza, Outstanding Service

Cons: Waits on Friday nights but have a drink at the bar while you wait and it all works out ;)

IT'S NO WONDER I SEE THIS PLACE ADVERTISING IN EVERY MAGAZINE AND EVERY COUPON MAGAZINE I GET MAILED TO AT MY HOUSE. THE PIZZA AIN'T WHAT IT SHOULD BE. SEEMS LIKE EVERYONE KNOWS IT TOO WHY ELSE ALL THE ADS AND COUPONS. THE PROBLEM IS THEY ARE TRYING TO LIVE UP TO PEOPLE'S EXPECTATIONS OF THE "LORE" OF NYC PIZZA. THE TRUTH IS IF THEY CALLED THE PLACE MIKE'S PIZZA IT MIGHT HAVE DONE BETTER AS THERE WOULD BE NO PRECONCEIVED EXPECTATION. I UNDERSTOOD THOUGH THAT THE OWNERS AREN'T REALLY THE ORIGINAL "GRIMALDI" FAMILY, BUT RATHER BOUGHT THE BUSINESS AND THE BUSINESS NAME RECENTLY FROM THE ORIGINAL "GRIMALDI'S". THEY HAVE NOT BEEN IN THE BUSINESS AS LONG AS WE WERE LEAD TO BELIEVE BY THE GUY WHO GREETED US AT THE DOOR. KINDA DISAPPOINTED TOO THAT THEY USE THE ZAGAT REVIEW OF THE BROOKLYN LOCATION FOR THEIR ADS KIND OF TACKY ATMOSPHERE WITH THE MURAL OF THE BROOKLYN BRIDGE ON THE WALL AND THE WANNA-BE FRANK SINATRA PHOTOS/MUSIC ALSO SEEMS KIND OF FUNNY THAT EVERYONE I TALK TO SAYS THE SAME THING ABOUT THE PIZZA 1 NO FLAVOR WHATSOEVER IN THE DOUGH 2 THE SAUCE IS NOTHING SPECIAL 3 PIZZA GETS COLD WAY TOO FAST AND THE REMAINING OF A WHOLE PIE ARE NOT WORTH EATING WHEN COLD FUNNY THING IS TO READ THE GLORIOUS REVIEWS THIS PLACE GETS FROM ALL THE LOCAL PAPERS, I WONDER IF IT HAS ANYTHING TO DO WITH THE AMOUNT OF ADS THEY KEEP BUYING

Pros: COAL OVEN LOTS OF COUPONS TO BE FOUND

Cons: FLAVORLESS PIZZA OVER PRICED TACKY DECOR

Grimaldi's coal-oven pizza was delicious. All ingredients were fresh, and the pizza was served within five minutes of ordering. Go with several people because they only serve full pies. Skip desert and head down to the Brooklyn pier for ice cream at the Brooklyn Ice Cream company. Coffee ice cream was some of the best I have ever had. I hear peaches 'n cream is a must try.

Pros: Food, price

Cons: Wait

I've been here countless times since last May. Its absolutely amazing. They have a great bar and great staff with the owner even greeting you. The best part is always the pizza though. They have a real coal brick oven unlike all the places that say they do and have gas fired or fake coal brick ovens. If you know about pizza making, they have perfected the art of the coal brick oven with masterful control of the temperature and output. Ive been to both Grimaldis in brooklyn and here and the taste and pizza skills are the same. Its should be an art to make pizza like this.

Pros: Inexpensive, GREAT PARKING, BEST PIZZA

Cons: Busy

I have been to this place several times and I absolutely love it !! The place is beautiful the atmosphere is warm and inviting. They have a large bar for happy hour and they can accomodate large parties with no problem. I recommend it for all ages. Unlike their sister store in Brooklyn they have a lot of salads , appetizers and they do catering on or off site, ( I know use them for my office) Umbertos in New hyde park has nothing on their pizza

Pros: tons of parking, handi cap accessible, accomodate large part

The place was packed just like the Brooklyn Location, but i was seated right away. The waitress was good and cute. The pizza was awesome. You gotta try the white pizza with sliced tomato and pesto sauce. That coal oven makes some magic pizzas. It was just as good as the original location under the Brooklyn Bridge but it has a bar, a long bar. They have some appetizers too. Gotta have the Spinach Dip hmmm yummy. I'll be back for my next pizza fix.

Pros: awesome pizza, great bar, great parking
