Rudest restaurant in all of New York
by tom tsupk at Citysearch
Waiter literally threw the plate on the table and walked
away.I has to retrieve the plate which was placed at the
edge of the table. Part of the waiter's thumb was
inside the food when handling the plate and shouting
across the room cause some spit to spray over my food.
I couldn't complain and return the food for the fear of
waiter doing something worse to my food intentionally.
this restaurant experience trully was one of the worst
experience I have had eating in a restaurant.
- Pros: low price lunch menu
- Cons: waiter from hell
this place became horrible
by julia77212 at Citysearch
when i was at nyu i used to go there for lunch, which was usually ok for the price. it's lunch, you're usually getting in and out and you dont expect great atmosphere. i went there for dinner the other day, and it was horrible. it was crowded, which in a good restaurant means, you wait for a table, but once you're seated you're treated well, and you can relax. dont expect that at this place. you are rushed a long every step of the way. order fast eat fast and get out, so they can make some more money on uncooked over priced food. yes, my food which was no bigger than the lunch version ( i had the massaman curry with chicken) and failed to deliver the leg of slow cooked chicken that was listet in the dinner version of the meal. instead it came with paper thin, yet insufficiently cooked, chicken pieces and raw ( i am not exaggerating) potatoes. as soon as we put our forks/chop sticks down the plates wre ripped away from us (yes please take my uncooked food) and the check thrown in front of us. when we had the audacity to chat a little after paying the bill (unfortunately we left a tip) we were asked to leave!! so if you desire bad food, which you have to gulp down and being kicked out for the next on the assembly line of "costumers" this is the right place. otherwise walk away, new york is full of decent places.
- Pros: lunch menu
- Cons: assemply line dining, uncooked food
As a costumer, I've never been treated worse by any place

Terrible customer service; the waiter kept rolling his eyes at us, I lost count how many times. They got two of my friends' drink orders wrong, and were hesitant to fix them. The food wasn't special, I've had better Asian cuisine elsewhere. The portions were small too. When we asked for the check, the waiters just continued standing around talking, we had to ask another waiter. When we asked to get our remaining food wrapped to go, they put all of our dishes in one bag, even though it was clear that none of us lived together, and when we asked for separate bags, we were greeted again with our waiter's signature eye-rolling. If you're looking for a decent place, or even a mediocre one, don't bother going here. It's a waste of time.
- Pros: Prices are okay, place looks clean
- Cons: Lazy waiters with attitude, no respect
cool place with cheap food
by ilovenyc123 at Citysearch
Great menu, I would recommend every dish. I have been here at least 10 times and the service is great, really quick. Great drinks and cool atmosphere! Good date spot or group spot or even going alone and sitting at the window! Only annoying thing is sitting at the middle two tables which have bench seating...and its difficult to get in and out. REALLY ANNOYING. That would usually only be if you are with a large group though.
- Pros: Cheap and amazing
- Cons: Bench seating sometimes
Wonderful food and atmosphere at great value, perfect for group dining

Picked this place out for a friend's birthday. Dining in a large group, you want to be able to accommodate everyone's tastes and their wallets at the same time. This place definitely does both. The drinks are made very well. The seating is almost picnic-table-style which really works well for groups. The food was definitely worth more than you pay for. I highly recommend the Flounder. The service was very decent and accommodating. All our dishes came at the same time and came out piping hot. We even showed up very late for our reservation and were luckily still seated very promptly! I'd definitely come back here for another try since their menu is so huge.
- Pros: Great value and atmosphere, great entrees, perfect for groups
- Cons: Appetizers are more on the so-so side, but you get what you pay for!
Good food selection, not the best service
by toasterbunny4 at Citysearch
If you can get over being surrounded by NYU students, this place is a great cheap dinner spot. The dishes range from XS-XL (although the XL is actually just normal entree sized), which makes it great for sharing dishes tapas style. The atmosphere is cozy and romantic, if a bit loud, and the food tastes decent enough. Fried food is a little too fried, and the coconut lettuce wraps were a little too dry, but overall it's a good value. The only problem is that the service is either nonexistent or way too aggressive about clearing plates before you've finished. But for the prices, this place is a great find.
Best food, customer service

I'm a NYU student. I always come to Cafetasia at Lunch time and sometimes I made delivery order. The food here is great. Staffs are friendly and supportive. I love this place.
worst customer service
by chaching33 at Citysearch
The food is great, the place is nice. However if they get your order wrong do complain because they will not fix it. The managers are jerks since this place has become popular the customer service has gone down. I would not recommend this place to any adults who are use to good customer service. If you are a broke college student trying to impress a date take her somewhere else. order to go
- Pros: good food
- Cons: very bad service, they rush you out the door when it is slow
Terrible service

I live across the street from this restaurant. I have gone in for take out at lunch and gotten the wrong order on more than one occasion. My friend, who is diabetic , needed food quickly so I went there . Yesterday I only got part of my order (no rice) during a very slow time, I went back to complain and was verbally abused by the manager. I believe that if your menu says that you are getting flounder for lunch that it should be more than a small 2 inch strip of fish with some greens, a few peppers and no rice . This is false advertising. He told me that I should know that I need to bring it back immediately so he can look at it. I cannot do that if a hungry diabetic is in need of food. I also do not need to be treated in a nasty arrogant manner by someone who is supposed to be in a service industry. I came back fast enough so there should have been no problem. Rather the manager chose to be nasty.
- Pros: ok food
- Cons: There is no value if you are served less food than was advertised on the menu
best thai near washington sq
by tinky1981 at Citysearch
I am vegetarian since birth, therefore I will review the vege options. The red curry is excellent, the green curry was too lemony. the starters are all very very delicious. the radish dumplings are just okay, unless you load it with the different hot sauces they provide you. spring roll and salad are yummy, especially the peanut sauce. i did not like the noodle dishes. lack flavour and very bland.
overall the food here is superb. the stir fried stuff is great too.Much better than other thai places in the area. this is a great option for veges. my friend who ate the red snapper said it was one of the best he had eaten. service is great, never had an issue even during peak hours.
- Pros: food, ambience, service, location, price
- Cons: can be very loud due to music and people trying to talk over it.
