Zen Home Cleaning is far from Zen. After the cleaner left I could not find a very expensive watch that my mother gave me as a wedding present. I admit I did not see him take it with my own eyes - who knew I should have been watching him like hawk or have cameras in my bedroom as the owner suggested. I know that minutes before his arrival I had put this watch away and the next night - the night before my wedding - the watch was missing from my jewelry box. After 3 months of endless back and forth - their lawyer tells me that there is no proof, there is nothing we can do for you and THIS IS THE BEST PART - THEY WILL REFUND MY CLEANING FEE IN RETURN I AM NOT TO POST ANY NEGATIVE FEEDBACK ON ANY ONLINE FORUMS !!!! Needless to say I told them to keep the $175 and I will reserve my right to my First Amendment. This cleaner was also late, used all my paper towels - not so green there - another cleaner came half hour into his service - to check on him ? who knows if they were in on it together - he also didn't clean the blinds, and needed encouragement to vacuum behind the couch. This company, its people, its policies are not zen. They have cost me more than $175. Their owner claimed she was sympathetic and wanted help, but at the end of the day she did nothing but cause me grief. She obviously felt that the cleaner stole the watch since she fired him. She does not stand behind her policies. She writes her own reviews and claims that her cleaners will gather up loose money in the apt for her clients - what is spare change compared to an antique 20k Rolex watch? There are real green cleaners out there - these people just spray lavender everywhere. Don't risk being taken, once it happens its too late.

Pros: Have peace of mind and use another service.

They came for the spring cleaning couple months back. And my apartment was transformed. I didn't think it was very dirty beforehand, but I can definitely tell the difference afterwards. Not only they cleaned, they also re-org things inside the cabinets, and made it a lot more organized. I did think using non-toxic products make me breath easier. They're also very good with my pets and sensitive to their needs (one kitty is scared of the vaccum noise). I now have them come bi-monthly. However, I did noticed that the regular cleaning was not as impressive. Of course, it's still a job well done, but the wow factor is not at the level of spring cleaning. And definitely depends on the cleaner. Some cares abit more. Their website is nice, and phone is always picked up during business hours. Unlike the previous reviewer, nothing was ever missed from my apartment. Actually, they found money somewhere and left it on the table for me. I love when I come home and my apartment smells wonderful. And I love their turndown service. I think they even iron my sheets as they look very much pressed. I do believe Zen treats their cleaners better than most companies. And they do care about environment. The cleaners would not use some of my other products that are not non-toxic. They also showed me what they use and gaveme great instructions on how to clean my floors in case I need to. Highly recommended. No hassle. And very professional. And if you cannot afford regular cleaning, consider their spring cleaning instead. Definitely helped me jump start.

They are bonded and insured, so I don't know what your friend is talking about-- look on the website. In several months of using them for cleaning, they once broke something and they left a message for me. They paid for it the next day. I just hired Zen Home to reorganize my home and to help me be more eco-friendly. I work in finance so I don't have a lot of time to figure out how to be more green-- they re-organized my entire home and gave me REAL suggestions that I can actually implement to decrease my consumption of plastics and paper goods, given my busy schedule. They are professional and true to their word. I just took a year-long cleaning contract with them. Zen Home is absolutely worth the premium, I think they are very reasonable, in fact, give the services and products they provide. I would say BE LEARY OF PEOPLE'S STORIES!

My experience with Zen has been FANTASTIC. The house smells delicious after they are there and there is no stone left unturned and they are still ECOFREINDLY. I love the chocolate, the tea, the candles, the soap-- it makes coming home from the office a real treat. I went through about 15 cleaning people before I tried this service. What I like about this service is that I don't have to manage the cleaning people. The company does it for me-- I like having a different cleaner each time. I have been using Zen for a year now and I am NEVER going to stop. They have this great soap that they left me the last time. Another thing that really pleases me is that they always show up in uniform. I am originally from Europe and I like it when people are a bit more formal. I like the uniform, the slippers, the special bags and most of all, the effort to be kind to the environment. The other cleaning people I used would go through a role of paper towels each time they came. Not Zen home, they are green, so they use as few paper towels as possible!

I recently had a cleaner by the name of Carlos from Zen Home. One of his tasks in addition to doing the cleaning was to do a gargantuan of laundry I had. I was ASTONISHED to come home and find that he had found over 100 dollars in the pockets of several pieces of clothing and left it all with a note stating just that. I was so surprised that I added every penny to his tip. Apart from the money Carlos did an excellent job! I travel alot for a living and so my days are spent in pretty much every 5 star hotel you can name from Maine to LA and after seeing the work of Zen Home I can confidently assert that they are indeed a five star service. I was given turn down service, there were organic chocolates with a thank you card and organic tea left on my bed. The apartment smelt great, things were organized and I could actually find things the following day. What I look or in a cleaning company is me not having to come home and do anything but climb into bed. JOB WELL DONE ZEN !!!!!!!!!!!!

Pros: Punctual, Honest, Affordable and Totally worth it

Cons: NO Sunday service and hard to get an Appointment

I love this service. After going through many a cleaning woman, I finally broke down and gave this service a try. They barely used any paper towels and used great smelling products. Considering my most recent cleaning woman scrubbed the shine off my floors by scouring and refused to use anything but Formula 409, this place was a god send! They were on time, worked the entire time and were very professional. They showed me all the products they used and I was happy to see that they didn't flood my house with chemicals, which I recently just threw out of my kitchen cabinet anyway. They emailed me a coupon for a discount on their website products and so I bought some of their candles and linen spray. They smell so good and at a little soiree that I had recently, my friend recognized the soy candle on my mantle and said, "You use Zen Home, too". Absolutely worth the premium and the products rock. I can't say enough good things about this place.

Pros: Professional, courteous, eco-friendly, toxin-free

When it comes to ZEN Home, all I can say is one word....WOW!!! I have had cleaning services in the past that put me on hold for long periods of time while trying to book an appointment, arrived late or either didn't arrive at all, and even telling me that it would be advisable if I remained at home so that I could instruct the cleaning staff as to what I needed done. But this was not the case with ZEN....my cleaner arrived on time and in a wonderful ZEN-inspired uniform and they even took their shoes off when they entered!!! I couldn't believe the professionalism that was shown to me! I felt uneasy at first because I thought that they would shun me due to the amount of clutter that I have in my small junior-studio Brooklyn apartment, but they didn't. My cleaner (who was a male) arrived, saw what needed to be done and went right to it! My home was fresh smelling, clean, AND organized! Lastly...THEY EVEN CLEANED MY WALLS!!!

Pros: Professional Staff

Cons: No late or after-hour appointments

I had heard about the service through some friends who kept going on and on about their newly cleaned apartments and I called to book an immediate cleaning. I was able to recieve an appointment for the following day which surprised me very much. When the cleaner arrived, she wore her uniform which looked crisp and clean and was very polite and humble. While cleaning, I noticed that she even took the time out to clean ALL little areas (each book on my shelf, baseboards and walls). The house smelled like the oils she was burning and I even recieved a few bed amenities (chocolate and potpourri) in both bedrooms. The following day someone called me to follow up and i booked regular bi-weekly appts with her on the spot. Overall, the serivce was great and considering how much they are in demmand, i was very impressed that they were able to book me and satisfy all my needs. I hight recommend this company to anyone who has class and knows that more a few more bucks, things can be done professionally and Pheonomally.

Pros: Very detailed and through cleaning job

Cons: No Service on Sundays

Made an appointment for a Spring Cleaning, which would have set me back at least a few hundred dollars. They said they wanted to send someone over to do an estimate but nobody ever showed up. When I called to ask what happened, they told me that the visit had been "cancelled", but no one knew why, or bothered to notify me. They're not getting my money if I can't trust them to call me when they're going to stand me up and make me miss work. If they can't do that, how can I trust them with my home?

Pros: Organic cleaning

Cons: Terrible customer service
