Have to go see for myself

I recently passed Chill Lounge on my way to work and made a mental note to check it out but after reading these reviews ........WOW !.. I am an after work , happy hour type person. I appreciate the owner replying to the reviews - you never see that on citysearch and on several reviews I agree with the owner ...first and foremost Chill is a BUSINESS that is in BUSINESS to MAKE money not LOSE money. there are probably patrons who nurse/sip one drink /beer for two - 3 hours and talk, I am sure the bartenders notice these "Moochers" and act towards them accordingly

While corporate people like us drink 4 - 5 drinks EACH in an hour. . I have no problem with tips (for party of 4 or more, I by myself tend to tip way over 20 - 30% all the time ) as long as the service is there and no attitude ..I and my co-workers will post our personal review after we visit Chill this month

What to say?

So much drama about this place judging from the reviews. However, I've only been here during the week and usually after work. From what I can tell, it's a good chill spot. Drink specials are great for Midtown and the music mix is better than having to pay for it.

If you're looking for a social scene, it's left up to chance. If you just want to enjoy a conversation or soak up the atmosphere then this place can sometimes be it. On a dreary Wednesday like today, it was the perfect get away from the hustle and bustle of the more "touristy" spots. Service is OK and everyone is usually friendly. Just be sure to treat the waitstaff with respect - Kudos to Christina and Jennifer!

The drinks are weak - I mean like no alcohol... and never ever should the tip be automatically included unless you have 8 or more people! A party of 2 though? Come on!

I can see where your staff get their unprofessionalism from. You come on here insulting people about how it's their at fault and could not possibly be your staffs lack of good customer service... i'm sorry to see you call yourself professional. you need to wake up. I unfortunately tried to celebrate my birthday there this January with my friends, and made reservations for the back room. I was promised the room would be just for me and my 25 guests. That didn't happen. They overbooked the room with two other parties (how does that happen with such a small place & small staff? someone must have realized and just refused to call the parties ahead of time and inform them. We professionals call this UNPROFESSIONAL.). Our cocktail waitress was beyond rude to everyone in my party & dumb as rope. Your food was portioned way too small for the price. And the mandatory coat check was just plain annoying for people who smoke in the middle of January. So please respond with another one of your rude & unprofessional comments, it just proves us right.

5-star Service

This place is great. Service can make or break your expereince, especially in such a small intimate setting. Everytime Ive visited Chill Lounge normally Friday or Saturday nights Ive had a great expereince. The staff is very professional. They always seem to be having a good time which in turn makes my expereince that much better knowing Im not surrounded by snotty bartenders/servers. When recommending places Chill is definitely at the top of that list.

BAD CUSTOMER SERVICES

I concur with the previous review. I went to check out the chill lounge on Friday one of my co-worker's told me about this lounge. She had great reviews on it. So a friend and I decided to see if this lounge would fit for a party I wanted to give. As we approached the door the bouncer told us it was a mandatory coat check which was fine but we were not staying I just wanted to look in side. As soon as we got in the front door a guy which I guess was the manager or something snap his fingers at us and told us "check your coat" no welcome to the chill the lounge or how are you ladies doing tonight please check your coat. Just a snap and point. (RUDE). I would suggest that the owner send their employee's to a Customer Services Class. One thing I can's tolarate is rude people I am spending my money and don't derserve to be treated that way, and further more he didnt' know who we were I could have been a critic reviewing this lounge.

Horrible Service

I've never reviewed anything in my life, however, after tonight - I felt compelled to do so. I was told this place had fantastic drinks and music - which they lived up to, but the rest was a far cry from anything I'd pay money for. From the start, the doorman treated my girlfriends and I like we were unworthy of existence, asking us to close the door behind us when there was no room to do so as another patron was blabbing away on his phone. His remark after id check "check your coat now" - not, "hello, welcome - here at Chill we ask that you check your coat." Customer service people. Our server was curt, rushed and snarky. The food took over 40 minutes to arrive and please don't get me started. Do not order food here unless you're fine with small plates that taste as though you heated up a frozen dinner. Rule number one, if you serve small plates - they MUST be fabulous. End of story. On top of that, the mandatory coat check and tax included (though we only had a party of 3) was absurd to me. I wine and dine at some of the most high end places in this city and I've never been treated so poorly in my life. I would describe this place as the nerd who 'got cool' in college. Don't let it get to your head. On a business level - I would remove the mandatory coat check and tip included on ALL bills (make it at least for a party of 5 or more). Also - doorman needs an attitude check. It's fine to be strict and/or selective - but when you treat potential patrons as if they're not human - not. ok.

If you want a good drink and great music - you may have fun. And the half price happy hour is a fantastic deal. I ask the owner of this place to rethink the way your company treats patrons. You're in the business of serving. We are paying for an experience....your experience is simply not up to par.

Great lounge!

Ive been here twice, and enjoyed myself both times! My friend celebrated her 30th bday here, and we did the open bar for $30pp which was a great deal!, I liked the place so much I went back the next night with a group of people, and we all had a ball. Great music, and the drinks aren't weak!! oh I also had the mini burgers, and they were good as well. Will definitely be back!

place smells like cheap alcohol, totally unfriendly bartenders!

Bartenders are snobs, never asks if you'd like another drink unless you get their attention. One lousy tv that doesn't get cable, place is always so dark - you can only imagine it in daylight. There is a stench of cigarettes, cheap alcohol and b-ROACHES! Yuck!

Great Happy Hour!!

This place has great music, and great drinks. My friends and I had so much fun here. It's so convenient, doesn't get too stuffy in there, because there's a room in the back. I love this place! Definitely going back, and bringing all the girls this time!
