My boyfriend had reserved a table for Valentines day and took me for dinner. It was wonderful. The staff are beyond acommodating. Even the young gentleman with the bread basket had exceptional manners. Of course the prices are steep but the food was worth every penny. Fantastic we will be back

Pros: great food service and ambiance

Me and my boyfriend had a special day and decided to have special dinner at le Cirque. This place is a legend and has been around for decades albeit in different locations. Times change, styles and trends come and go but Le Cirque is a timeless masterpiece. It was the first time for us in the new location (we ate at the Palace before). The new Le Cirque is more modern in style but extremely elegant. It's classy as it always has been and that's what permeates in the whole experience. We opted for the $92 pix fixe dinner menu. I was surprised at the price since other restaurant of that caliber are around $200. Three courses and many selections. Food was awesome and service even better. As far as the stars, this place is absolutely on top. Foie gras ravioli and tuna tataki for appetizers, ,duck and lamb for entrees and we finished off with creme brulee and chocolate souffle. We are talking French culinary masterpieces executed with perfection. Staff professional yet friendly. And contrary to what we expected the room was packed with quite young crowd. We had a wonderful day, wonderful evening and fantastic dinner. I hope Le Cirque is around forever so we can always go back and in the future our kids could.

I actually visited le Cirque last Friday after work - my fiance went to a game, and I said to myself, "I am going to have a drink at Le cirque, I've always wanted to go there". Mind you, I was dressed *very* casually in jeans and my black mink and flats- definitely not dressed for dinner. At any rate, I walked into the restaurant, went to the bar (which was crowded with young and old alike, not all old people like I'd read about before) and proceeded to sit at a nice little chair at a bar table and observe the scene. I ordered a grey goose dirty no olives, and it was exceptional but very expensive ($17, I think). The server girl didn't seem too happy, but what I will *not* forget was that both the gentleman host and another older gentleman (must've been a manager) came up to me twice to ask me how I was doing - they were so nice! I think they were concerned for me because I was alone, but they seemed genuinely curious as to why I was sitting by myself. I asked the manager how he was, and he actually smiled at me and said, "Now my day is better because you are here"... wow. WOW! I was quite charmed. I wish I had more money to spend at this place...but if you did, I would go their quite often! I've never experienced kindness like that in this city.

Dinner for 4 adults on a Friday night. Service was attentive and knowlegable...although it took our waiter a long time to recall the name of the chef! 4 appetizers and 4 entrees and 6 cocktails. $540!!!!!! It was not an equitable exchange. Food was very good......but not THAT good! Bigger issue for us was that the Maitre'd sat a young couple next to us. The 'woman" was dressed in a strapless, leopard print bustier that had her ample bosom popping out over its top. Worse yet, they proceeded to coo and nuzzle and kiss and "touch" for the next 90 minutes. I'm all for expressions of affection, but this one stopped just short of an all out lap dance! We expected more and better "discretion" on the part of management of such a pricey and supposedly exclusive restaurant. Won't go back

Pros: service

Cons: food quality does not warrant price

I've been to Le Cirque a few times and to be completely honest, I would never go alone or bring others. The food is great, but for what you pay for it's truly average. The staff is nice though they seem so disorganized. The fois grois, however is the best in the city though it doesn't make up for the mediocre entrees. Le Cirque caters to an old, tired, and dedicated crowd, but they'll die soon and so will Le Cirque.

Pros: Appetizers, deserts

Cons: Main courses, service, $$

Ok, so for my Birthday I decided that I wanted to go to the new highly talked about Le Cirque. The food was great, the service was TERRIBLE. Le Cirque has been known for its Fine Dining and Service, that night it was completely OFF! Entrees were forgotten, drinks were missing, we were neglected and after our main course my boyfriend asked the waiter to send one of each dessert to the table, the wait staff couldn't accomodate. I think they were trying to rush us out. Not only did they mess up all night, but now they were rushing us out. I go out to dinner four times a week and I did not expect this from LE CIRQUE. If you don't know anyone here, then go somewhere else. It seemed like only the dried friut that call this place home had a pleasant evening. Daniel has always been a favorite of mine.

Pros: Food was Great

Cons: Service was Horrible

After finally going there this weekend, I thought it a true disappointment!!! The captain served us the entree smiling while cursing in italian with somebody else of the staff and he brought me the check before I have even finished brewing my tea. The food, average and expensive. The whole experience, just not worth it.

Table ready and waiting when we arrived. Food was delicious and well paced from the kitchen. Never felt rushed. Staff was efficient and available but not intrusive. Everyone thanked us for our patronage as we left for the evening. Can't wait to go back!

It will be nice when the cafe opens as well as the formal dining area. I took guests and it is nice to say that the place still has it's magic. This is a special place of regulars and great for people watching. Nice wines by the galss at the bar. Thumbs up, in fact, I give it a Boooya!

Pros: The scene

Cons: The cost

My wife and I went on the first Saturday it opened. We loved Le Cirque 2000 and had great expectations. The staff was extremely friendly and accomodating but needed more polish. You could definitely tell the professional wait staff from the first timers in terms of service. The food was excellent and the contemporary atmosphere very enjoyable. We saw some celebs -- Cindy Adams, Mike Wallace and Barbara Walters, which was fun, but I think Sirio is hoping for a crowd whose average age is under 80. Very sleek bar/lounge area but they did not have a cocktail menu, which was annoying. It was expensive -- but not outrageous -- and was worth it. We're glad we went, but we both felt that Del Posto was better in terms of a grand, new NYC restaurant.

Pros: Atmosphere, attentiveness, food

Cons: Some staff need more polish (I'm sure it will come

Insider Tips

What to Drink

The list of wines by the glass is short, and the $12 pinot grigio is a good bet. Know that the bartenders are deft with classic cocktails and mix a mean but pricey martini ($17 for top-shelf).
